Welcome to Smoking Lobster Cowes, an Asian-Fusion restaurant serving fresh, exciting & luscious Asian-Fusion cuisine for both adults and kids. Voted best Isle of Wight restaurant two years in a row.

Family owned by the Giancovich's, with recipes influenced by their extensive travels around Asia, and by their childhood of growing up hunting, gathering, and spear-fishing for seafood.

Our local fisherman, Justin, catches our lobsters & line caught sea bass fresh for our use, so our dishes include the freshest possible ingredients from your local shores.

The bar menu reflects the elegant dishes from the kitchen, with precise, bespoke cocktails prepared using fresh ingredients.

Had a short break on the Island and found this restaurant advertised on the ferry. Had a awful journey from our hotel owing to road works, but the meal made it all worthwhile. Also worth noting that my wife has a severe Gluten Intolerance and the menu gave her plenty of choices with no problems. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about each dish offered helping us to make our selection. Definitely a place we will return to when back on I.O.W.

The food was delicious. The ambience lovely but very loud so hard to carry a conversation. The staff was lovely and maybe overworked as we had to ask a lot for more water etc. often

This was our first time at the Smoking Lobster in Cowes, we had been at the other one in Ventnor and both are excellent, and we will be back!

Booked a special trip to the island for dinner at The Smoking Lobster and a stay over in Cowes. Arrived at 7.30pm. Surprised to see the young lady having a glass of wine on the reception desk. Our table hadn’t been cleared so she set about clearing it. We ordered some tap water and two cocktails once sat down. Half an hour later the cocktails arrived, but one had to be sent back as it was missing one of the three ingredients (a negroni - not complicated). This re-arrived 15 minutes later. It was obviously a thin staff evening despite the restaurant being full. The young man behind the bar clearly didn’t know much about the bar and one of the waitresses couldn’t explain the dishes to us having only been there a week. Nothing we asked for arrived without asking three times. We had the ‘signature’ fish course at £125 - it was ok - not very signature. We also had to ask for the bill three times and having then been there for over 2 hours, were just keen to leave. We were hugely disappointed with quite a spoilt evening which, at £180 for two of us wasn’t great. We have eaten at the Smoking Lobster in Ventnor a number of times and always enjoyed it. Sadly, the evening in Cowes has really let things down.

Dear Stuart, Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry you had a bad experience. That was an unusual turnout for us that day, due to staff not showing & they really struggled. I am very aware that some of the customers received poor service that day, it is not how we operate. It is very rare for us to not deliver efficiently. I spoke to management as she is a non drinker, she assured me no one was drinking on shift & that they had cleared T1 onto the host station in a hurry to relay for the next customers. I can see how this may have looked like she had wine on the desk however, it was an old drink from the table. I hope you try us again as this really isn't our usual performance. I will update your profile with notes as we will arrange a complimentary glass of Champagne on your return.
