Lakefront Dining! Smoke on the Water sits on the bank of the West Reservoir on Portage Lakes. Smoke on the Water offers authentic smoked meats which are prepared fresh daily and seasoned with our signature rubs. All of our meats are slow smoked over cherry wood for hours to heighten the flavor and texture of the meat. We offer an array of signature BBQ sauces to pair with each one of our meats.

I had a table of 7, and there were maybe four other tables occupied when we arrived. My cocktail was delivered to the wrong table and 15 minutes after my party was served, I had to find my waiter in the back talking to the chef to tell her my food hadn’t arrived. My sandwich was served on a sale bun, food was subpar.

Nice atmosphere very nice server, food was good not a fan of cornbread served cold or sauces cold on table. Meat was served Luke warm at best mac n cheese was very good. Entire party was served cold to Luke warm food. I will try again and hope for hot food. Overall it's no Oak and Ember for sure but it's close and it's decent BBQ for decent prices.

My family had a great dinner there. It wasn’t crowded and the food was great. I had the brisket while my son had the ribs. My wife wanted to sample my son’s ribs, however, by the time she was able to ask him….they were gone. The sweet potato waffles fries were a fav!

We had a great experience here! In town for a wedding and found this place that looked neat on the water. My group was very impressed. Chuck gave fantastic service from the moment we showed up until we left. Staff gave great recommendations on the menu. The food was great, some of the best bbq some of us have had! The brisket, beans, and Mac were all fantastic. Great sauces too! We loved the atmosphere on the lake, and everything was reasonably priced! We left as happy folks!

Service was absolutely terrible. Staff was not attentive to our table took over 20 minutes just to order. Appetizer came with the main meal, despite asking the server to bring it early. Empty water glasses did not clean off our table properly while I appreciate the apologies, I was expecting more.
