Lakefront Dining! Smoke on the Water sits on the bank of the West Reservoir on Portage Lakes. Smoke on the Water offers authentic smoked meats which are prepared fresh daily and seasoned with our signature rubs. All of our meats are slow smoked over cherry wood for hours to heighten the flavor and texture of the meat. We offer an array of signature BBQ sauces to pair with each one of our meats.

    Service was absolutely terrible. Staff was not attentive to our table took over 20 minutes just to order. Appetizer came with the main meal, despite asking the server to bring it early. Empty water glasses did not clean off our table properly while I appreciate the apologies, I was expecting more.

    Unfortunately, the waitress got one of our orders wrong. Music was a bit too loud considering we were the only table. Good food. Nice atmosphere.

    Went on an impromptu date night and it did not disappoint. Brisket was flavorful and melted in your mouth. Great beer and bourbon selection. Loved the layout and the way it is situated on the water.

    Visiting area for a business meeting and wanted some smoked meat. Discovered they’ve been open less than a year however the smoked pork and ribs were good and tender. Would come back next time as no desserts yet.

    I understand they are new, so I am hoping they will use this review to make some improvements. The food was average to less than average, the portions were below average. The service was average to slightly above. The ambiance was well above average. The place looks great! We just wish the quality and portions of the food matched the ambience.

    Service was poor and there was really no one there. One server and although food was fast coming out and was pretty good. Getting drinks and our check was slow. Server could have made lots more money, we wanted to drink but did not ask if we wanted additional drinks. Building was cold which may keep people from sticking around in the winter. It could have been a good experience but unfortunately it was lacking the ambiance and service needed to keep us there for the evening.

    This was our first visit . The atmosphere is really nice. Casual and overlooking the water. The portions of this tasty food are generous. Brisket was super tender and the sides are great. There is a good variety of sauces as well. Our server was very pleasant.
