It's the best dinner/jazz experience of all the NYC jazz /dinner places that I have gone to
My wife and I had an awesome time having dinner and live jazz music
This is first and foremost a Jazz Club... if you're not going to listen to the music & watch the band, then you shouldn't go... this is not the place to screen your phone or have loud conversations.
First time @ Smoke's. Entertainment was good ; but SHORT set.....just under one hour. Food was OK, felt rush. I will come back, but not reserve a Dinner set.
I love this intimate UWS jazz club with its prix fixe dinner specials. Highly recommend this place.
50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration
It is rare to find the combination of delicious food, ambiance, and amazing live jazz music all in one. This place has it all.
It was a great setting, very intimate. The food and service was great. I would definitely recommend the Smoke Jazz and Supper club to friends.
Food was delicious and service and music were excellent. Love the chicken and waffles.
Great intimate club with superb musicians c and good food. Not cheap but worth it.
Have gone to Smoke many times, Great Food, Great Service, Best Jazz in NYC..and Mgr Patricia makes you really feel at home there. Warren
Sunday brunch was fun, live music. However, we did feel rushed. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles: the only parts they offered were legs and thighs. Of course they were not thoroughly cooked to the bone. Lots of raw meat close to the chicken and thigh bone, I had to send it back. By the time it got back, I had to take it to go. Sunday brunch is not a relaxing, sip your drink affair. Seats are reserved/limited and they are synced to the timed musical sets. "yam and scram!"
This is about our 5th time at Smoke. We’ve done the Jazz Sunday Brunch several times and loved it. It also has a nice ambiance for dinner and jazz. We love the two tables in the back by the window...one is a cozy deuce and the other is perfect for a foursome. We’ll be back!
We had reservations here to celebrate my birthday on a Wednesday. Sexy ambiance and the singer/band combo simply wonderful, engaging, and strong sounds. We stayed for two sets and would definitely go again!
We knew the music would be top notch, but were surprised to Discovery the food was excellent.
We had Calamari and shrimp then the Steam and salmon. All we perfectly seasoned and cookies.
We went to Jazz Brunch. The food was really, really good.
The music was amazing. I will definitely return.
Whenever my sister from ORegon visits NYC, she insists we go to hear Annette St. John at Smoke on Sunday morning!
Music was great! However, the whole setup was very bad...poor food and the worst service I’ve encountered in a long time. Will not go back.
My wife and I have been going to Smoke for many years, always great entertainment.
It is a great place. Loved the music and the food.
Terrible food, poor service, great music
Soirée inoubliable. Intimité, charme, qualité. C’est l’endroit à ne pas rater pour expérimenter une soirée Jazz à NY en dînant. À recommander.
The Sunday Jazz Brunch was excellent. They recovered quickly and quietly from a kitchen mistake on one of the four of us. The food was excellent. The music was "friendly" as was the wait staff. Plenty of time for conversation before and after the music set.
Excellent value with s fine meal and solid local jazz group. Appetizers were pretty standard fare but salmon came perfectly rare as requested with young asparagus and finger potatoes. Hubby's pork chop was substantial and tasty and he appreciated the mac and cheese accompaniment. Service was perfectly timed so as not to interfere with the performance and we appreciated the quiet policy during the performance as much as the musicians. Diners don't linger and obediently make way for the next seating within the 2 hour window.
I enjoyed my jazz club experience for my birthday, it was on my bucket list and now I can say it's been crossed off. I loved the cozy and intimate ambiance plus the music was soothing. I only wish there was more flavor to the food and slightly larger portions, also an extra helping hand because the waitress was the only person serving guests (I felt bad for her). Overall, it lived up to my expectations and I will revisit soon.
What a great find! Great food and music! Who could ask for more. Beau has the lobster ravioli and said it was really good. I had salmon, fingerlings and asparagus. Salmon was outstanding. We visit the city regularly and will definitely be back. Great neighborhood find!
I stayed at Smoke from 8 o'clock in the evening to 1 am on late night.
It’s a amazing and fantastic time.
Many musicians played and I could enjoy jazz music deeply.
We visited Smoke for the first time recently because we wanted to see the jazz group playing. The food was above average for the "captive audience" of a jazz club, but could still use some tweaking. The ratatouille was barely an appetizer portion: a collection of white beans with about 1/2 a zucchini and 1 tomato's worth of vegetables. As the only vegetarian option, it was a disappointment. On the other hand, the fish tacos were quite good and filling with an assortment of condiments on the side. The small club atmosphere was great for seeing the live music. We would be back, but might not arrive so hungry, even though an entree purchase is required during some shows.
It was my Husbands and I Date night ,while we in New York. I had been at Smoke ,last year, with my Daughter and had a wonderful experience. We were not disappointed ,the mood ,ambiance, music just wonderful .However we may not order chicken next time ,P
It was Great.Great music and Great food, but i wish the amount of food i got on my plate was a lil bit more for the money i paid. It was like a kids plate. But it was still a Great place to go to, I enjoyed the atmosphere.
Smoke is a place to go for music. It is a great venue for Jazz, with intimate connections with the music and great sound. The food is good, but not the attraction. The food is a bit pricey, but I guess one is paying for more than the food. I wish they had more vegetarian options.
Had an amazing experience! Went with two of the most important people in my life and had wonderful time
You really can't go wrong with any of the entrees. They either smell or taste delicious. They were also served in a timely fashion.
The music was terrof
Went on a date to Smoke with my husband to do something different. They had an early show which was so nice and got to see and hear a whole set. The price fix is the best deal. Food was really good and the wine list had plenty of drinkable options. I was thankful that we arrived before the music started otherwise we wouldn't have had much opportunity to talk - talking is discouraged during the set, which seems perfectly appropriate, we just hadn't thought of it beforehand. I sat on the banquette thinking comfort, but I couldn't really see the guitar player. Next time I'll chose a different seat. The sound was really good.
This was my second time there. Had a great time again. This time it was extra special because my girl had not been to New York since she was very young. Great experience in all. Great time.
We go to Smoke for the jazz. The food is delicious also, and the ambiance is cozy.
The food was fairly good and service was attentive. The space is very small, but it has a charm in that way, though your neck will get a workout turning to get a view, depending on your seat.
My main complaint is the staff should have advised there is a $38 per person fee for the show that is NOT part of restaurant week.
Very surprising to see a $76 addition added to your total.
