It was Great.Great music and Great food, but i wish the amount of food i got on my plate was a lil bit more for the money i paid. It was like a kids plate. But it was still a Great place to go to, I enjoyed the atmosphere.
Smoke is a place to go for music. It is a great venue for Jazz, with intimate connections with the music and great sound. The food is good, but not the attraction. The food is a bit pricey, but I guess one is paying for more than the food. I wish they had more vegetarian options.
Had an amazing experience! Went with two of the most important people in my life and had wonderful time
You really can't go wrong with any of the entrees. They either smell or taste delicious. They were also served in a timely fashion.
The music was terrof
Went on a date to Smoke with my husband to do something different. They had an early show which was so nice and got to see and hear a whole set. The price fix is the best deal. Food was really good and the wine list had plenty of drinkable options. I was thankful that we arrived before the music started otherwise we wouldn't have had much opportunity to talk - talking is discouraged during the set, which seems perfectly appropriate, we just hadn't thought of it beforehand. I sat on the banquette thinking comfort, but I couldn't really see the guitar player. Next time I'll chose a different seat. The sound was really good.
This was my second time there. Had a great time again. This time it was extra special because my girl had not been to New York since she was very young. Great experience in all. Great time.
We go to Smoke for the jazz. The food is delicious also, and the ambiance is cozy.
The food was fairly good and service was attentive. The space is very small, but it has a charm in that way, though your neck will get a workout turning to get a view, depending on your seat.
My main complaint is the staff should have advised there is a $38 per person fee for the show that is NOT part of restaurant week.
Very surprising to see a $76 addition added to your total.
The music was so great. The food is awesome. It is just so expensive that I can only justify coming once a year. Too bad that jazz is now reserved for the wealthy.
It was restaurant week with jazz, the food was certainly not what we expected for $42 pp. Too many tables in a small space, so no personal space The jazz though was absolutely great. But for the food I would not recommend the restaurant.
Went for Restaurant Week. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Will definitely be back
Very nice setting, good good, nice live band and singer.Me and my partner had a wonderful time for my birthday! Looking forward to coming back real soon
The first time was better. The food left me wanting more. This time it was okay and the love that was in there the first time was not in the second time around.
Go with the understanding that it's super tight and you'll be there for a while, but it's definitely worth it for the good food and great live music.
Pleasant evening. Friendly staff on arrival who got much more business like wrapping up the first set diners. Tasty fried chicken and onion soup. Short ribs could have been slow cooked longer.
My husband and I love visiting New York, and we are also lovers of jazz. Smoke combined so many great things - romantic atmosphere, an adventurous menu, super service, and awesome jazz! It was one of the top 3 highlights of our five day stay in New York. Thanks for the terrific evening... left us feeling really JAZZED!
We were there for Sunday brunch.
Excellent food and gorgeous atmosphere!
Great food and great music. I recommend this place for all occasions. Very casual and overall good vibes.
Food is not worth the price. Do yourself a favor and eat prior - or just come for a drink of wine or beer at the bar. The cocktail menu was overpriced for the quality.
The food was just ok here. Having the experience was night, but I'm fine with never going back.
Tickets to jazz show ($38 in addition to dinner + drinks) was not worth it for a Friday meal. Food was great but it quickly became an expensive meal for a show that did not feel particularly riveting or impactful.
Our waiter did not speak english well, making communicating difficult. Also, I thought Restaurant week was a chance for them to put their best foot forward to gain new customers, but the food portions we received looked like they were from a kids menu, very small. If Restaurant week means cutting corners, I would not recommend this week to anyone!
Better than expected- went during restaurant week on a Wed eve.- music was great (they own an organ) and food was good. Service was VERY SLOW, waiter didnt know what a French 75 was and then asked how i wanted my salmon cooked. Happy overall 4/5 stars and would recommend! I took my dad who is a huge jazz lover in his 60s, a guy native NYer from Harlem and me a 30something female and we all enjoyed!!
The service was incredible our waitress was so attentive and sweet. The food was even better. Simply amazing!
Well worth the money! Great food, fantastic music. Tuesday nights rock!
I really enjoyed live Jazz music. And food was also good.
Our first time and we loved it though a few points for first timers. Plan to be there for longer than a typical out to eat dinner as you will enjoy a set of great live music. Service can be slower than expected as it seems the kitchen tries to fit you in as a seating as opposed to an individual reservation. We arrived at the early part of that “seating “ so it took quite a while for us to get our deserts as it seams the kitchen was still focused on getting dinner out to tables.
