The jazz was absolutely amazing and worth seeing. The food was average. Come here if you love jazz not if your a foodie.
Amazing food and program. Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely book again. Been there several times before and we'll go again.
Great food and wine, with world classs jazz! Who could ask for anything more? The new Coq au Vn is simply outstanding. Can't wait to return to Smoke!
All is great! Lovely place lovely people and perfect sound conditions.
A cool place with great service. The food was really good. I would defineatly go there again both for the food and the music.
The form asks about “noise”, which is a problem is many restaurants today. Not so at Smoke. The “sound” is loud when a band plays but the acoustics are excellent. Highly recommended.
Music was amazing! And I cannot rave enough about the food, I had the surf and turf, the person who cooked my steak was an absolute kitchen wizard!! Bar tenders were very tentative and even received and extra glass of wine. Lovely experience
Top notch venue for ones significant other to enjoy live jazz music together with great company. Make sure she is a real class-act!
Outstanding show. Friendly service. Good food. I couldn’t have asked for more.
Excellent food and wine while listening to world class jazz! The french onion soup and Coq au Vin were off the hook delicious! Look forward to returning soon.
I was very excited to visit this place based on Yelp reviews. I had friends visiting from out of country that asked to visit a good Jazz venue and I picked Smoke.
Our experience has turned out very poorly. I will briefly explain what happened and how it didn't meet our expectations:
My dissatisfaction is mainly with the set up of welcoming customers *waiting outside in a freezing cold and ordering food, slow service and attitude.
It was our first time and we had hard time understanding the waitress with food situation, pre-fix etc.
Bottom line we got our appetizers only after an hour of ordering, dinner even later. Band was playing for an hour already and we just got our apps. All of us could hardly enjoy the band since for an hour we were just seeing food come out but not ours. Clearly when we finally got the food we were starving at that point.
Another example: two of us ordered just a tea to drink since it was freezing outside and we were standing to get in first therefore order of hot tea was for the obvious reasons. Few of us got wine and cocktails in a timely fashion tea came after 45 min of ordering.
Place is small not too many people: 11 at the bar and 45 in the main area. So it's either the kitchen is not set up for this little amount of people or the chef is slow or both.
We live only 20 minutes away but we won't be coming back.
Absolutely delicious, food, great atmosphere, great performers - wonderful evening overall
The entertainment was great the selection of food was not good and expensive
This club was very intimate and we enjoyed the people we were seated next to.
It is a nice little place. Musicians were great. Staff is pleasant.
Best jazz club in NYC.
The food was overpriced and not good... slow service... wrong food delivered... problems when paying bill.. Ingrid fly staff. Have been there a few times but this time was my last... not the same place. Show was great but a bit rushed
The food was a bit pricy, but, it tasted great! The music was awesome! Definitely would like to experience this again. This place is great for a date nite.
Great music, great food, great company!
I'd recommend going to it for the music but not for the food. Music was great. Food was very average.
I think 20 usd as minimum to spend on bar plus 15 usd is a total of 35usd more than blue note bar jazz i was expenting a better price since is a less know bar and far away from manhattan. As a tourist i will think going to blue note jazz bar next time, since i was there and spent less and the band and sound was better
A jazz joint that may be the most expensive in town. With cover charge and food and two drinks each, expect to spend $200 for an hour or so of entertainment. Too bad. The music is wonderful.
We love this place. Table service is iffy, but good food and GREAT music makes this a special experience
Charming place, great vibe. Friendly staff. Sat at one of the high top tables with nice view of the stage. To be honest, I don't think there is a bad seat in the house, given it is a small venue (maybe 50/60) max. The food was good, but certainly not the high point. The cocktails were better.
The performance was amazing. My girlfriend and I will return.
We love smoke! It’s our neighborhood go-to. Delicious food and invariably fabulous jazz musicians!
Really godo music and enviroment! The food could be better for the price
First visit; extremely impressed with the intimacy and control of the attendees coming in during the performance; this is generally a problem in such small clubs. Highly recommended/
Great music always. And really good food. Small and intimate. No talking during the music (appreciative audience)
Way too expensive for a watered down mojito low quality food and a 50 minute set. Decent atmosphere and good music though
Really enjoyed the food and music. Great customer service. The food choices were excellent. The music was very good. Great ambience
Wonderful experience! Jazz great Vincent Herring and his band was amazing! Thank you very much! I love this place and would return many, many times if Iiving in NYC
雰囲気も良く、食事も予想以上に美味しかった。また、よく働く女性スタッフが1名、素晴らしかった。演奏も良かったか、もう少し、ゆっくりとしたサックスが聞きたかった。
Sat at the bar, no food purchase was required. Loved the ambiance, small intimate setting, great music. Definitely my go to when on NYC.
Great food. Excellent entertainment. Will definitely return.
The music was wonderful but the set was too short. it is unconscionable to charge $40 per music ticket plus $42 minimum per person on food and drink for a set that lasted barely an hour. I am an UWS resident and jazz lover who will not be returning to Smoke any time soon unless Smoke changes its policy so that it delivers more music.
Amazingly intimate restaurant with incredible talent. Food was delicious. The musicians did their thang. Will go again!
Spending our evening at Smoke was even more enjoyable than we hoped it would be. The ambience was terrific, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top notch. And as for the music? MARVELOUS! We loved the Carolyn Leonhart Quintet (especially the pianist and sax player--wow!). We've already told some Denver friends who are planning a trip to NYC about Smoke, and we hope they'll be able to include it in their plans.
Great place!
Fantastic music AND food! George Coleman Quartet was AMAZING!
Music is excellent as usual.
As for the foods menu, I made a suggestion to add the light and handy menu at the bar such as vegetable sticks &/or mix nuts, chocolate, for people who do not take a dinner course and just want couple glasses of wine.
