The band was great; however, the food was incredibly overpriced. Neither my partner nor I was impressed with the food, which cost us about 40 bucks a plate, not including the $40 cover to see the band. The ambiance was nice, but not $200-for-two-people nice.
Is my favorite place to visit in the city. The environment is great!
Very nice band for the Valentine's day week-end and dinner was excellent.
Fantastic food & an ideal venue for live Jazz. We will be back!
Cozy and intimate setting. The performances were great and the food was decent. It would be great if the venue was a bit more roomy, but it definitely wouldn’t discourage me from visiting again.
The dinner show at Smoke makes for an extremely enjoyable evening. I club is intimate and you are never to far from the stage while the outstanding music is being performed.
The food is very good and the staff is frendly and accommodating.
We would highly recommend an evening spent at Smoke.
Great experience and I would dine here again. The only negative, which is not major, is that the service seems to disappear a bit at some point.
Wonderful atmosphere, very good food and great music. Will definitely go back again!!
Amazing!! Would recommend to anyone, had the most enjoyable night, great atmosphere, brilliant service, and the best entertainment!
Went for a pre-Valentine’s date. Service was great! Our table was upgraded upon arrival so we actually sat nearer to the stage than originally planned. Band played magnificently! The only thing I would improve on would be portion size. I ordered the salmon dish and my date ordered the barbecue ribs.
One of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. The portions were not worth the price tag and the food was bland. They also hustled us out of an additional $80 because it wasn’t made clear to us when we made the reservation that we would have to pay an extra $40 each for the live jazz band. We were under the impression that the dinner INCLUDED the music. The service was adequate at best. Do yourself a favor and stay home...it’s cheaper and the food will taste better
I had an amazing time and worth every penny. I had only only negative interaction but thankfully she wasn’t our waiteress.
This is our second time going to this location and as before it didn’t disappoint. I love listening to live jazz while eating and the low light ambiance. Service was great and functional.
They go overboard with the no talking during sets, but besides this, it is a special place to visit for dinner and great jazz.
Nice company, good food and wonderful jazz set!
The food is good! Band is wonderful! Although the space is limited but it is cozy and comfortable.
Always the best!!
The staff was very friendly and paid very close attention to our table. The food was very good and filling! The band and ambiance of the restaurant was very soothing.
Went for the jazz but rather disappointing. Better jazz at Winnie’s bar and you only need to pay the price of a drink there. Went during resultant week: the mains were good but starters and desserts very sad affairs. Glad I tried it as a nice venue with friendly staff but all in all I was disappointed.
Smoke is a wonderful venue for dinner along with marvelous entertainment in the fantastic Alexis Cole Quartet.
Food was surprisingly good! I loved the atmosphere and the jazz was great. Expect a cover charge on the bill the live & make sure you don’t talk! There was a group of ladies laughing throughout the set that really killed the vibe. Other than that - it’s a great option for a fun date night.
We thought there would be dinner--they even indicated the kitchen would be open on their website. But, we ended up paying over $100 on the "drink minimum" and music charge. Great!
A wonderful jazz club; one that I try to visit multiple times whenever I'm visiting NYC. Have always enjoyed all aspects of my past visits; food, drinks, music and staff. Can't say enough about the place.
Shocked at how good the food was......good service and great music. I didn’t expect the place to be as fantastic as it was!
Came here on a Monday night to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and it was nothing short of amazing. Lately we've been checking out jazz/dinner clubs in NYC like Minton's and wanted to give this one a go. Smoke is cozy, laid back, and the staff there is amazing. Our waiter, Courtney was very attentive and the managers there were amazing as well. The food was a mix of soul/american with enough variety to accommodate any type of diet. If you're looking for a cool date night or anniversary I would definitely check this place out!
It's small but cozy. The band was great and food and service excellent. I would definitely go back.
A small venue with great jazz very good food and service so a great value normally and even better during restaurant week. Highly recommended.
Excellent service, highest quality Jazz, scrumptious food - very satisfying experience, absolutely worth the time and $
Came on a Thursday night with my boyfriend for a date...it was great! The fried chicken was amazing and the peanut butter pie was delicious.
On January 24th I went on a date at Smoke Jazz Club. It was my first jazz club experience and I loved every second of it. The food and service were excellent. The music was exquisite and I can’t wait to go back again. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
One of the best venues for jazz in NYC. The audience is always quiet and into the music. Terrific bands are booked every week. I try to get there a couple of times a month.
Great vocalistist. Friendly folks. Nice ambience.
Restaurant week was wonderful to start off at Smoke Jazz and Supper Club !
Thought the $40 music charge for 1hr set pricey. Music was excellent. $16,95 shrimp cocktail had 4 smaller shrimp.
took two of my pals who had never been to UWS to see a show and have some drinks, they both loved it. it’s a great spot for jazz lovers.
Had a great time at Smoke. Will be back soon I'm sure!
One of the best live music spots in the city. The room is intimately cozy, the food is way above average (save room for the chocolate dessert pastry!). They cater to different musical tastes and are almost always full. So, check what's playing and when, then make a reservation. The audience is always quiet during the performances, and although food and drinks are served continuously, the wait staff is notably unobtrusive. There is a music charge - $40/person as of this writing. "Tarik", the person in charge of seating, is unbelievably accommodating, capable and personable.
Cozy Spot with good food. On this particular night, the Al Foster quintet brought the house down during the 1st set!
I might recommend it just to hear the music, but definitely not for a meal. The food was not great, especially for the high price charged. Not having the option to stay for a second set is also a negative.
Great food, Live Jazz Music and ambiance. Ribs and fried chicken are a must have.
