Enjoy a quiet romantic dinner by candlelight overlooking the marina and marshes beyond, have dinner on the deck, or reserve our Private Dining Room for a special occasion or business dinner.
Another great time at the Smithfield Station. Oysters for starters with a great porter on tap. This was followed by shrimp, scallops, and oyster platers. Cheesecake and key lime pie with coffee rounded out another great meal. Our server Ashley was excellent.
Phenomenal food and service. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and the bar. Great for Sunday brunch and a romantic Saturday night date
We had lunch there and it was a GREAT start to the day! We had reservations for 11:30 but arrived approx. 20 minutes early and were seated immediately. The food was delicious, the wait staff was very friendly, and the price was very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. No complaints whatsoever. GREAT experience!
It was our first time eating at this restaurant. We had a cocktail first at the bar, which we enjoyed very much. Bartender was very nice and the bar area had a 'comfy' feel to it.
Our waitress, Sarah, was excellent. We liked her happy personality and she was on point with her dinner recommendation and wine suggestion. We are definitely going back!
We went for an early dinner and were able to enjoy each other’s company in a beautiful setting. The food and service was outstanding. Definitely will be a favorite for us.
One of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at and the food was amazing!! 5 star
Enjoyed everything about Smithfield station - thanks for making our evening special!
Food was great. The view is wonderful. Could not have been a better evening.
Loved it! We had a great time. The food was delicious, and the staff was excellent.
Our table was ready on time and we were given one on the waterside. The food was excellent along with the service. We will go there again.
Our first visit was great. Today, the value (we spent over $60 for lunch) just wasn't there. We didn't get as much food as we'd hoped to get (there wasn't much to my blackened tuna sandwich, for example). The presentation was off (tomatoes and lettuce on sandwiches looked iffy). Some of the food didn't taste fresh (especially the coleslaw). And also--we weren't really greeted before the meal, and no one asked us on our way out if we were satisfied.
A great restaurant with great service and food. A nice clean and organized place to dine.
Cheryl and her staff did an outstanding job. My wife and I had the seafood platter and it was really good and fresh. For dessert we had pound cake with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate sauce on top. We have been visiting Smithfield Station restaurant for about 15 years at least twice a year. We are usually very satisfied.
Nice restaurant / hotel overlooking the Pagan River waterway with an outdoor seating area when the weather is good. Service is friendly and attentive and the offerings lean towards seafood but the menu is varied and includes more casual fare like burgers, etc. Wine selection included some decent offerings including some very good pinots from Oregon. Good option for a nice dinner out or business meal.
Nice location and good ambiance. The green beans were tasty, and the hush puppies were properly prepared, not saturated with oil, but with a slightly crunchy crust. The Oysters Rockefeller were satisfactory, but not great. The Pimento Cheese spread was tasty with a nice texture.
The Crab Cake was quite poor, lacking any texture, little crab (no lump meat), and an overly mayonnaise flavor. The fried flounder was too greasy and a bit overdone. The bread was very unsatisfactory. Underdone, doughy, with a distinct flavor expected in do-it-yourself supermarket rolls.
Another outstanding lunch. Fried oysters and clam chowder for appetizers. Fried shrimp entries and hot fudge cake for dessert. Not to mention a great rotational IPA on tap.
My 60th Birthday was organized by my wife to be celebrated at your place.
I always tell her to see Virginians and Americans we must go to smaller towns across the commonwealth and USA where we can meet and engage with people.
And she follows this advice well.
We had a great time speaking to a couple at the bar, a student who was an ex bartender at your place and also your owner who was navigating through a printer issue.
Our waitress was great and so were the check out staff at the hotel.
Thanks again for keeping up your place nice and making it attractive to folks like us to think about coming back.
Staying in the lighthouse was a unique experience.
My wife and I made our annual visit to Smithfield Station during Restaurant Week to celebrate our Anniversary. The waitress didn't seem familiar with the week's menu and forgot to bring any bread to the table. The food was luke warm at best! We may find another venue for next year.
We had a wonderful time. Thoroughly enjoyed the room, food, and service. Will be recommending this place to everyone.
The service was wonderful and the server was a delightful young lady that I failed to observe her name.
What a wonderful place to eat! The food is absolutely delicious and service is great. Would recommend this place to everybody.
My friend and I had an appointment in Smithfield and decided to try the Smithfield Station for dinner. We were very pleased.
Had a Perfect meal from the Appetizers, Bacon wrapped scallops and homemade chicken noodle soup to the seafood platter and flounder dinner and then dessert, tuxedo bomb everything was great. Our waitress was great all night.
Great Food, Quiet and Cozy environment. Welcoming waitress. Nice waterfront views.
Our favorite lunch spot in Smithfield. Every menu choice we have selected has been delicious. Amazing desserts.
Always heard great things about this restaurant, so I decided it would be a great place for my 20th wedding anniversary. Appetizers (boom boom shrimp) was great. I had the ribs which were just ok, they were really over sauced (and I love me
A good bbq sauce). Wife’s “Norfolk special” was swimming in butter and over powered everything in the bowl. Prices were high for the quality of food and ambiance. Waitress was just ok, and had to be asked several times for refills (other tables that night also had to ask).
Excellent spot for our New Years celebration. The food was outstanding!
A delightful dining experience from our wine selection to our appetizers to our entres and especially to our charming server Channa. Great way to ring in 2019!
Our New Years Eve dinner at Smithfield Station was amazing. Even though we have about a 45 minute drive it is so well worth it. The food is always fresh and prepared the way we like it and the service is always great.
Sunday morning breakfast buffet is always worth our drive. Ms. Paula's armlets are great.
we go there every year for our anniversary. my only real complaint was they stopped serving coke products. I just happen to really prefer coke with a nice meal.
Excellent dinner and friendly helpful service in a very relaxing waterfront setting. Everything prepared perfectly and quickly. Best crab bisque, loaded with fresh crab meat, we have ever had! Hot tasty crab dip for 2 followed by very tasty and expertly prepared fried oysters and baked salmon stuffed with a mound of crabmeat entrees. We were here on Smithfield Station's New Year's Eve package and are already planning a return visit for our anniversary. Highly recommend Smithfield Station Restaurant for both casual dining and for special occasions. Waterfront casual outdoor dining is also available in warmer seasons. The attached photo is the festive waterfront view from our table!
The scallops and flounder were amazing. It did not disappoint.
We have been going to the Smithfield Station for our anniversary for the last 8 years. We love the food and atmosphere. Either dressed up or going casual, you fit right in...and it is beautiful at Christmas with a warm fire that adds to the mood.
We were fully satisfied with every thing. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were seated immediately. The server was very friendly and helpful. She completely explained the menu and offered the special in a
.professional none pushy manner. We will definitely return
Terrific breakfast buffet, full menu of fried or broiled seafood, great service, cheerful employees, great waterside location -- what's not to like?
We went to Smithfield Station for the first time for their breakfast with Santa. We had a great time. The buffet was tasty. My favorite was the omlet station. All staff members were friendly. The santa interaction was great. We will definitely be going back.
Had a leisurely lunch with a friend. A bit noisy, but enjoyed our time together. Thank you.
Food quality seems to have dropped in recent months. The past few times we dined there the food has been unexceptional. Service is usually adequate.
Sandwiches were fantastic, however the fresh raw oysters were frozen solid. Obviously not shucked fresh that morning as claimed. Will never get oysters from here again.
Always consistently good. Fresh seafood and kind service makes this an easy place to eat. View of Pagan River lovely too. Almost always get the half portion(huge!) broiled seafood platter. The fried flounder is another good voice. My husband and his father love the Hatteras chcowder, which is a clear broth style clam chowder. Yummy! If you love seafood, this is your spot.
