My first time to Smith & Wollesnsky, and I had messaged ahead that this was "date night." The restaurant was WONDERFUL - special, quiet table and our waiter was so attentive describing the menu options. It had a lot of charm and the food was plentiful and simply fell off the fork. We will be back!!!

The bread had been reheated and was stale. The cheesecake didn't have much flavor at all. For the price, it was not worth it.

Great cuts of meat and yummy side dishes to share make this place a special treat. I love the truffled Mac n cheese, the split pea soup and any steak on the menu. For a treat add bacon lardons to your soup. Be sure to save room for dessert

I like the S&W chain. It's reliable with good food no matter which location one visits. Unfortunately, the DC branch didn't offer prime rib that night--but the porterhouse for two was terrific. Large wine list--don't be afraid of the house label red, it's on the affordable side and is quite good. Join their dining club and enter the number when making reservations, you get benefits during the meal, not just points afterwards.

From the moment we walked in and were given he option of sitting in the nook with the view of the kitchen (we were celebrating a special occassion) to the surprise slice of borthday cake and candles that came after dinner, everything about our experience at Smith and Wollensly was nothing but exceptional. Everyone's steak was cooked to perfection and the fact that there was not one scrap of food left on anyone's plate was evidence that all of the food was fantastic! The hostess, server and manager all were friendly and attentive and helped make it a special experience. I visit a lot of steakhouses and this ranks as one of the top experiences.

Food was delicious, service was excellent. Surprisingly, the place was very quiet foe being a Friday night, which I will chalk up to people being on vacation in the summer. There is no other reason for this place not to be crowded (other than maybe the prices, which are high, but are justified). Definitely will be going back.

My wife and I say S&W is our favorite Steakhouse. We usually visit the Philadelphia location and have never been disappointed. We bought our young adult kids to celebrate them and the food was disappointing. Maybe it was a bad night.
