Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse - Miami Ratings and Reviews
Been here many times, this time hostess wasn't helpful in providing a better table, though many tables were empty, Server (Elizabeth) seem to disappear and looked somewhat preoccupied by other things, again with the restaurant not being full, food was excelent
Valet was very courteous when we arrived. From desk/reservation station seemed nice (the younger ladies) but the short older lady seemed very quick and as if she didn’t want to be bothered. It was a party of 3 and we were seated UPSTAIRS in a little room by the employees office Im assuming (since that’s where they seemed to all to be going). I was a little concerned about “being in the corner” when there were lots and lots of empty tables downstairs. Our reservation was for 7:30 and open table has open spots after ours when I checked as we were sitting at our table. I’m in no way shape or form prejudice but I felt like we were put there because the tables downstairs were loud speaking Spanish ppl in suits and ties and we were just 3 black ladies with boots and pants on (temperature was 59). I noticed the others that were seated near us also had on the same/similar attire except for 2 men that walked in with work clothes and boots on.
As the men were seated they were VERY vulgar. One man was saying the last time he was down on SoBe he received a very nice BJ and wished he could get in contact with that lady again. The other gentleman agreed with him as they high fived each other and continued their conversation about leaving and getting some lube. Now my 17 year old daughter was there and she just gave me the look and said “mommy what in the world is going on behind me?” I just shook my head and tried to change the subject.
Our $400 worth of food was ok. I have the lump crab meat cocktail and my daughters shared a wedge for appetizer. For the main course my youngest daughter and I had the porterhouse for 2 and my oldest daughter ordered the bone in ribeye. The porterhouse way undercooked/not chewable as we ordered medium and the ribeye was over cooked which was also ordered medium and it was well done. The mashed potatoes were awesome and the asparagus were good. We saved room for dessert but at 9PM they had run out of almost everything we wanted.
Went here for NYE dinner. Great food and great service by our waitress. The person who gave us the table could have offered at least one little smile but it was very busy so she probably was a bit stressed out. But i would go back if i visit Miami Beach again!
Solid choice for higher end waterfront dining in South of Fifth. Food is always good. Servers are actually quite friendly and well trained in fine dining etiquette which is a rarity for South Beach. Not the most posh or trendy place but it's one that you can count on for good food and ambiance. Atmosphere is pretty romantic and cozy, but the place is more than big enough to accommodate large parties. The waterfront dining is great and I love that you can leave dinner and directly go walking around the best part of SoFi.
Food late and very below average for the price.
Food took too long to get to table, nearly an hour. Food arrived not hot therefore tasted well below average. This is the second time I have eaten at one of these restaurants and both times I was very unimpressed.
Two out of five entrees were inadequate. One of the entrees, a filet, was delivered wrong temp twice. Drinks had to be requested to be refilled, service was not what one would expect when paying that much. They even lost our credit card when it came time to pay the bill. While the manager did adjust the bill, it took us complaining multiple times before they even cut it in half. Wasn’t worth the hour drive to get there.
