Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse - Miami Ratings and Reviews
Service was second to none. Our waiter knew everything about the menu. He described everything perfectly and was great at assisting what to pick. Food was superb. The spicy shrimp was, hands down, the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. The breading was more like a dust and the season complimented it perfectly. It wasn’t spicy at all (coming from a person who hate spicy). The dry-aged bone in NY Strip was great. Could’ve used just a hint more of salt. The truffle honey carrots were spot on and a must have. Lobster Mac n cheese was a bit of heaven. This place is a must go for people who can dish out $300 for a meal for 2.
PS - Don’t forget to have a slice of the chocolate cake. It’s not overly sweet and the portion size is definitely shareable.
I’ve had many years of visits to this location and it was wonderful. Not this visit. 7:30 reservations and couldn’t get our food at 10:30pm., even after multiple complaints from the table. Epic failure on service then they didn’t bring any of the sides we ordered. Waiter wanted to keep bringing drinks not food. Had to find the manager to get the check.
Upon arrival I requested an area a quiet as possible relalizeing that this is a steakhouse and quiet is not the norm.
However we were seated next to a 75th birthday party !! You can imagine.
We were moved however to a table area so crowded you could not even move without asking the table adjoining us to get up to allow us to get out.
The steaks were average but the sides while expensive were very good. The waitstaff were well trained an cordial.
Great food, amazing water view and excellent service. THE SERVICE OF OUR WAITER WAS SOME OF THE BEST WE HAD IN A LONG TIME, THIS ITALIAN MAN WAS ON POINT!
However it was not our excellent waiter who handled this, we had more food than we could enjoy that night so I asked for a box to go....when the lady came back we our box was not filled with all our food, i noticed that the bone was missing...our German shepherd loves them. when we got home I noticed that we only got 1/2 of our meet and 1/2 of our potato gratin boxed up for us...the veggies seamed to be there. it was disappointing to see that this happened as the rest got probably throw out....
Our lunch was fantastic from start to finish. We sat outside overlooking water - watching boats go by. Our server was attentive friendly and efficient. We shared the Wollensky salad - amazing - great value. Followed by the lobster sandwich which was soooo good! It was the perfect Valentine’s Day treat. No room for dessert! We will definitely be back!!
Wish S&W were closer and that Beach traffic was less of an ordeal, coming from the north end of town! Dinner was fabulous! Birthday cake plate was terrific! Cocktail delish, too! But the noise level made easy conversation difficult. We had a good time nonetheless! Thanx for the celebration!
If you are lucky enough to get a table outside, the view is spectacular. The service is impeccable. The food is okay. I had the filet Oscar. It was okay but no better than another I've had. The $60 price for a petite filet with a couple pieces of crabmeat, some Hollandaise, and asparagus was not justified. It wasn't special. The season on the filet was non existent. Neither was the $27 for the angry shrimp worth the price. The sauce was oily and a bit bitter and the three shrimp were undercooked. Lobster mac was good - again price wasn't justified. The food for the price should be well executed. Insead it is mediocre. Had to order 4 bottles of wine before I found one they had in stock. Upside is the view and service.
We heard the view was beautiful, and it is. But you can’t eat the view. The food is below average. And a $200 lunch should be good. The Caesar salad was good. The bread was ok. The jumbo lump crab meat cocktail was good, but the sauce was bland. The $17 burger, ordered medium, came out raw. The $19 steak sandwich ordered medium rare came out raw. Both were drowned in a spicy sauce that overpowered the beef. The wine at $22 a glass was below average. The fries were good. The coffee was good. Too bad the food is awful and no attention is paid to cooking it to order. I would return for drinks, but not to dine.
Interesting experience. I took a friend who was visiting from out of the country. The ambiance and cocktails were great! But the filet mignon was not that great and our side of mushrooms came to the table burned, not edible. We sent back the side and half of filet mignon was not eaten. What an experience experience.
