Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Aloha! It was bittersweet that we dined on the last evening of the closing of Smith & Wollensky Las Vegas. More than the outstanding aged steaks, it's their exceptional personnel (Quinn, Nicky, Ronan, Eddie and so many others) that makes it a very enjoyable experience.
When one door closes, and other door opens up. We're certainly looking forward to the opening of Smith & Wollensky at their new location in Las Vegas! Mahalo!
Three of us sit down and order two bone in ribeye steaks and one bone in filet. An hour and fifteen minutes go by then they finally bring our steaks and two out of three are completely the wrong steaks. They take two back with the sides and leave me with my steak and no sides while I wait for my colleagues to get their steaks. Needless to say by the time their steaks arrived with the sides, my steak was cold. My colleagues steak that was supposed to be medium came completely well done and my medium filet was completely raw in the middle. We asked for the manager and she came out, apologized and offered us free dessert. When the bill came, they had taken one steak off the bill. Honestly, I'll in the restaurant business myself and understand that mistakes happen, but a fine dining establishment should have better standards. If that happened at my restaurant, the entire meal would be comped and I'd give the patrons a certificate for a future meal just to get them back to win them over. This was the first and last trip to this joke of a spot.
This steakhouse has been a must for my company while in Las Vegas, for 10 years to date we have visited annually, and I have returned on several more ocassions. I personally recommend the king crab legs, the wagyu steak, and the mac&cheese. The staff is wonderful, the food is the BEST, and unfortunately it will be closed for the next 6 months, moving into Caesars Palace.
We have a long standing relationship with this restaurant. Someone on the Staff even put our name behind table 156. Since the restaurant is closing, I removed the little plaque and brought it home with me. Until the restaurant reopens, it will be a nice reminder of the many good times we have enjoyed. Hurry up, find a new location and come back to us.
We have dined at Smith & Wolensky several times (in Las Vegas and southern Florida, etc) and have always been very happy. However this visit was very disappointing. None of the steak entrees were cooked properly. The vegetarian "special" was ordered but not available and we were NOT informed that it was unavailable. Instead, the waiter showed up with a substitute of brussels sprouts without asking if we wanted that. The service was so slow that they offered to provide desserts free of charge. One guest was gluten free and they did not offer a dessert that she could eat. All in all, there was NO attention to detail, food was not prepared correctly and service was much too slow. Not a good experience!
Great service.. awful food..
Smith and Wollensky drop the ball here. We used to live in NYC and original restaurant is a classic. This one had tasteless cowboy steak that had been burned not charred beyond saving.. chef obviously doesn't care. Service was great and deserve 5 star.. food deserve 0 stars
We were in town for a convention and decided to try this restaurant for a customer dinner. I had the Filet Oscar and my companions both had the 10oz filet bacon wrapped. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The service was excellent as well. We will definitely recommend to others and plan to return ourselves.
Nice food, good location, really disappointed with the service, emailed the manager for a surprise birthday cake which was clearly stated and our waitress said ' I hope your ready for this cake your having ' so my friends new straight away. Then the cake come and left us no spoons. Just little things need tweaking
Place is closing in 3 weeks and they should close FOREVER... A disgrace...
Some Pipe broke and place smells like a sewer... Out of almost every wine that was of value... out of Porterhouse Cut of steak and what was ordered was $1400.00 worth of Food you could not eat..
A REAL DISGRACE for those price points...
All food from start to finish was excellent. We split a wedge salad and followed this with filet mignon dinners. One was the bacon wrapped pair of petite filets and the other was the 10 oz filet. Sides that we split were the loaded bake potato and the schezwan green beans. The green beans were seasoned wonderfully and had a nice little kick. The potato was good, but maybe could of had some green onions to it to go with the bacon, sour cream, and cheese. A nice bonus was the freshly baked bread that came with the dinner. Sooo tasty with a hint of rosemary and course salt added to it. Our server, Joseph, was very attentive and courteous, as was the rest of the staff. We can't wait to go back to LV as we will definitely be back.
Went on Sat 29 April the restaurant was in the process of a relocation we were told, they had hardly any food, only one bottle of Prosecco and hardly any wines, the food that was served was very poor and the coffee was not drinkable . We were visiting from London and were very disappointed
