Great wine, delicious food & a fun atmosphere made for a great dare night.
Nice service, great steak. Soup, sides a bit too salty.
This was our second time dining at this restaurant in the last year. Just last week we went to Taste of Texas for my birthday and this time my husband wanted to try this restaurant. I was very disappointed in the food we received at your restaurant. The steak was very dry and around the steak (filet mignon) it was scorched black. Everyone at our table was not happy with their choice and we wished we had returned to the Taste of Texas for this birthday as well. I was very disappointed in our choice to come to your restaurant, from now on we still stick with Taste of Texas where we know the food is always on point.
Our waiter Jeff was amazing! Very attentive, polite and kind. We will be going back.
Haven’t had S&M in quite some time. Excellent flavor, wine was superb, ambiance was perfect.
Likely my last visit there. Nothing exceptional. Just overpriced items on the menu and lackluster service.
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Smith and Wollensky on March 17th. The service was amazing, very attentive and every one who came to our table made sure to tell us Happy Anniversary. We had dinner during their Steak and Whiskey event and we were able to try the whiskey-aged steaks. My husband said it was one of the best steaks he ever had and we will be making Smith and Wollensky a tradition for our anniversary in the future!
Excellent service and food portions were above average
Great as always
Food was very good
Service was impeccable
We took my parents for lunch at SMith and Wollensky for their 60th anniversary. They were very accommodating for accepting a last minute reservation. We had planned to go to another restaurant but found out at the last minute that they didn't open until later that day. We got there a little earlier than we had scheduled our reservation and were seated in a private room since we had a large party. The staff were very friend and provided excellent service. The room we were seated was a bit dark for some of our party members, but the staff did try to brighten things up a bit by turning on a lamp and brightening up the recess lighting. The food was delicious and they had a pretty good selection on the menu to choose from.
Now the only complaint I have is the smell. As soon as we walked through the door, we got a whiff of a loud sewer gas smell. I started to leave, but I was expecting other guess so I had to stay because of the large party that we were expecting. They really need to get that sewer smell resolved. That's the only bad thing that I can say about the restaurant.
The restaurant was freezing and when asking for the air to be cut down I was simply told I could be moved but it’s still cold. My steak wasn’t cooked correctly the first or second time I asked, the Mac and cheese was gross so I sent it back and ordered mashed potatoes which came out after I was done eating. Our waiter was not very attentive so I had to ask several others when I needed something. Overall I’d rather spend my money elsewhere as opposed to eating here again.
Muy buen servicio, la comida excelente, no dejen de pedir las ostras!
Amazing beef. Money well spent.
The food was amazing. My lobster tail was delicious
We celebrated Valentines day late. I believe we had the best table. Corner by the windows 2nd level, overlooking Highland Village. Food was good service was too...
Fabulous. I had the steak tips. Wonderful food, service, and ambience. I can’t wait to go back.
The food and service was mediocre for a premium steakhouse. I had to repeatedly request ice tea refills and the salad was served with the steaks.
Great food… could do better on the ambience
Great environment, food no wait time no wait time to be seated. Our server did lack some knowledge and experience after being ask some questions about the menu and didn’t check with us as frequently. A different server by the name of Gavin stop by and checked on us so I asked him about the menu he was very knowledgeable about the menu
Horrible service. The waiter dropped our plates and I spent most of the night with an empty glass.
Our server was awesome. Great sense of humor. Food was fantastic and his recommendations were on point.
Great experience except it was freezing
Steak was cooked to perfection. My wife couldn't stop talking about how good the salmon was. Everything was great and met all expectations of a top tier establishment should be. Definitely will be revisiting!
Off the bat, the service was about as bad as I've seen at an upscale restaurant. We had to ask another waiter for assistance. I had an outward view so I could see the waiter doing nothing. We were the first to be seated and while we were there, only one additional table was seated. The music was too loud. The food was even a little overcooked. It was an overall bad experience.
The strange thing about this evening was that it spoiled our Valentine's day dinner one day early. But oddly enough, we had a wonderful time at S&M just three weeks earlier. We also had an early table but everything was great. The wait staff was superb and the food was delicious. The first impression was a good one, but the last, unfortunately, will be indelible.
Great place to eat and have your anniversary dinner. Staff gets an A++
The waiter was very pleasant and in tuned to all our needs. He did an outstanding job. We will be back again, count on it.
S&W is an excellent steakhouse serving prime, aged beef. The dry aged strips are great, as are the wet aged filets. Sides are generous and served family style for sharing. Yes, it is a bit too expensive to eat at everyday, but for special occasions I don’t know that you could do any better.
Great service. Awesome food. And the noise wasn’t so loud that you had to shout. We loved it. Will definitely be back. Encourage people to give it a try over some of the other “louder” steak places.
My first visit, the food was good and the service was outstanding
Food was excellent. New server was slow as hell. Had to ask for refills. He was busy playing in the back. Disappeared for long periods repeatedly.
First visit for my wife and I . BEAUTIFUL place. Meal (brunch) was simply marvelous!! Excellent customer service. It's very pricey, but delicious food, nonetheless. Beautiful view from upstairs. Will definitely visit again.
Everything was wonderful
New Years celebration dinner . Food was really good and service was great. Nice view of highland village . Only complaint was the angry shrimp appetizer . 23 dollars for three shrimp . Oh well, everything else was fine .
I was not able to eat there since there was no one there to greet us and to sit us down. After chasing a server, he sat us and gave us some menus. We waited there for at least 10!minutes until we decided to leave.
No one said anything as we walked out.
Amazing that in a place like S&W, this thing happens
It had loads of potential, but for the price and considering it was New Year’s Eve they really dropped the ball. Reservations were not organized then it just became a ripple effect. The servers are not very disciplined and there are better Steakhouse options in the city.
While we had a wonderful time, the place and people are amazing, we were not quite ready for the pricing. We did manage to pay the bill but WOW, quite pricey. Wonderful, wonderful place for anyone with extra money. Had a great time!
From the moment we arrived it felt like something was off. The hostess was only slightly friendly and ordered us upstairs instead of showing us the way. Our server (we only had one, which seems like a waste because there were only 3-4 tables there and it seemed like a strict rule that none of the other servers were allowed to touch any other table) was absolutely awful. He was never around it we only had our water glasses filled once... at the end. Steak was good, the brussel sprouts side had vinegar in it and was not what I expected from the menu description, and the foie gras appetizer was soaked in so much sauce you couldn’t taste the foie gras. When we got our check, the waiter did not take off the filet that I had order but they were all out of (a $60 mistake mind you) and when we tried to mention it he said “oh I forgot to take the filet off” before we even said anything. Hmmmmmm. I understand an “old-fashioned steakhouse experience” but there is no excuse for stains on the walls, bubbling wall paper, dusty fixtures, and non-existent service at a place that costs at least $100 per person. It definitely seems like training/management issues are at the heart of the problems with the restaurant.
El servicio muy lento,la comida excelente
Richard was our server and he was great! Was very aware that my party was there on business and gave us plenty of space and time!
The food is always excellent!
