Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse - Columbus Ratings and Reviews
Food was good but service was poor. I realize the restaurant was busy but guest shouldn't have to wait for 15 minutes to have their plates cleared. We we're there for over 2 hours but not fully by choice. The waiters had too big of a service area to cover in my opinion. For the money we spent not sure I could recommend. Not the top notch dining experience one would think considering the name of the restaurant.
The entree 2 of our party ordered was the pork shank. This was really bad, fatty and no white meat. The description provided by our server was not accurate. This item should be taken off the menu as it has zero nutritional value and is not in keeping with the quality of the rest of the menu.
I have eaten at this restaurant in the past and was somewhat disappointed on this occasion. I did not feel that our meals were on par with my past experiences. Several of our meals were not cooked to specification and the onion soup in particular was very mediocre. Will try it again as I do like the ambiance.
I took a friend for her birthday , we had a reservation for a table and started at the bar and finished at the bar :) the food was incredible we shared a ribeye steak along with white chocolate bread pudding ! Presentation and staff was amazing and is important to the experience!! Can’t wait to go again
Second time we have been there. The filet was superb. Huge wine list. This is definitely a special occasion restaurant as our two meals and one bottle of their cheapest (lol) wine was ~$220. Worth it though as the food is so great and you could easily spend three hours there on a dinner date.
The drinks we ordered were excellent . The server was very nice. The wedge salad was great, enough for 2 people. The sides were good, the steaks were so-so. Kind of dry not much flavor. For a place known for steaks this was a disappointment. Maybe will try again for a great steak.
I loved going there for Thanksgiving dinner. We don’t have any family in town and opted to try this place out for the first time. The service was excellent, the price phenomenal, and the food as well as values was exceptional. We will definitely come back for other holidays. Loved it!
Decided to try something new for Thanksgiving. Three of us chose the Thanksgiving Day menu for dinner. ALL three of us were very disappointed. The turkey was dry. There was hardly any gravy on the turkey. The dressing and au gratin potatoes were good. We also had shaved brussel sprouts, which were good. We had cooked carrots, of which I did not eat. The meal was $55/person and included the above plus a soup and salad.
I’ve had steak before here and at restaurant of this caliber, I tend to expect impeccable service. Our waiter was not attentive to our table at all. He never asked us how the food tasted and it was like pulling teeth to get a refill of water, let alone our regular drinks. I was highly disappointed!
I will NEVER go here again for a meal that is for a holiday and order off of that menu.
Food well prepared, and generous serving-sizes. Menu offered everyone choices, and no one went away feeling any dissatisfaction with the quality or quantity of food served. Only complaint was the consistent delay in being served. We've celebrated Thanksgiving dinner at competitor restaurant, and received more timely service than we received at this establishment.
We came for Thanksgiving in the city. Never been to Smith & Wollensky before. The service was good. The wine list was good. The turkey was good. The carrots and the brussel sprouts were not cooked properly. The carrots were charred but raw, not even al dente. The brussels were bitter. Potatoes were fine. Pie was okay - nothing special.
Thanksgiving w/o the grocery shopping, cooking, or cleaning! It was great way to relax and enjoy the holiday. Our table indulged in both traditional holiday and regular menu fare, and we went home with multiple Lucky Dog bags. The Gigantic Chocolate Cake lived up to its name!
Seated in the newly remodeled bar area it was poshly comfortable. Our s t e a k was absolutely cooked perfectly medium rare. Sizzling hot! Lots of diners in the bar area which was welcomed because it adds to the festivity with laughter in the background. The best thing about S & W for us is the food memory you leave with. I know right now at this writing just how succulent that filet was. -- sizzling hot. So good. We WILL be back.
My wife and I recently dined here for our wedding anniversary. As usual the service was impeccable from Matt the bartender to Jennifer our server. The food as usual was fantastic, I look forward to our next visit around Valentine's day which has become a tradition for my wife and I. Keep doing the little things as you always seem to do.
First time eating here. Not impressed.
I ordered bone in ribeye cooked medium: it was cooked well done. My wife order the bone in filet: it was cooked rare. The ribeye had flavor that reminded me of boiled meat. I believe it was wet when they cooked it.
The server never checked on the quality of the steaks after delivery. The Mac n cheese did not tasted good. The potato croquettes where ok. The broccoli was limp. My water however was delicious.
