Excellent food and service
Cannot be beat either for a corner outdoor seat or for bar standing room. The dining experience cannot be topped in Manhattan.
The gentleman old timer waiter is reminiscent of a level of service which has nearly vanished in the United States.
great food and service. outstanding wine list.
both the server and the somelier service was impeccable
Very rude and my prime rib was 60% Fat !
It’s been a pleasure going there for the past 15 years on my birthday
Birthday dinner amazing service , food was outstanding
Our experience at S&&W was outstanding! From the minute we walked in the host greeted us with a smile and was ver accommodating. Our server/waiter Juan was superb and extremely helpful with the menu. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back! The best veal chop I have ever had! Excellent wine choices !
Very expansive prices for less than average food. This is a tourist trap.
We had a wonderful dinner at Smith and Wollensky. Everything we ordered was excellent. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We’ve eaten her a few time when in NYC and we always try to have a dinner here because we’re never disappointed.
Nobody can eat steak night (well certainly I can’t), but every once in a blue moon is fine. If you are going to indulge there is no better place than S&W. It may not be cheap, but service is always spot on and quality of the meat can’t be any better.
We waited about 45 mins for our food. Mushrooms were dry; lam chops were ok but, frankly, not as tasty as Capital Grille. Not as good as I always remembered S&W. I realize COVID posed great challenges but at these prices, you have to do better.
The service was fantastic. Everyone we came in contact with were very professional and courteous. I do feel it was a little overpriced but was delicious.
I have eaten here just about every time I am in NY. I have never had a bad meal or bad service in the past. This past visit was not like the others…let me start by saying my filet was delicious and cooked to perfection. I ordered a mixed green salad to start, and it was a bowl of lettuce. Part of the appeal to Smith & Wollensky is superior service…
Simply put, Smith & Wollensky is the best steakhouse in New York!
This is clearly an institution that prides itself on tradition. The food was very good but the service discombobulated : one waiter taking orders, the other serving - but one dish at a time for the same course. The sommelier gave great advice though. On the whole, I expected a more rounded and fluid service.
We went to the weekend wine dinner and it was very nice, with great steak (we upgraded to the porterhouse for two) and delicious and copious other courses and wine. Highly recommended and a really good value!
Very hospitable right from the moment we walked through the door. Service was exceptional - servers were attentive and kind and overall atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend going for the Wine Weekend Menu! One of our new favorite restaurants in NYC!
Never disappoints. Always a great meal with great service. Prices are great compared to other high-end steakhouses in the city. Been around a long time but one of the best.
Food and service was amazing! We enjoyed our visit.
As good as it gets in NYC. The steak is perfect and so are all the wonderful people who work there. 🍎
It was my husband and son’s birthday and it was wonderful the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Our waiter Paul was so great and the host kept making sure everything was just right.
Consistency and unsurpassed quality. Perfection.
Kitchen way too slow
One hour wait between time plates from appetizers removed and main course served.
Wait staff never acknowledged the long time nor gave any updates
Wonderful as usual. Checkout their copious wine dinner after 8:30 on weekends!
The food was AMAZING! This is a destination spot for steakhouses in NYC - perfect for a decadent night out. Just know it is expensive.
Screaming table next to us. Couldn’t hear ourselves think. Waiters and stuff couldn’t control the situation.
Steaks are good, service was spotty at best and they didn't have many things we had ordered. They compensated with free creamed spinach....they seriously did.
Everything was great, food was large portion, service was professional, atmosphere was nice, etc.
We sat on the terrace this time. Wonderful service. Excellent experience. So glad they reopened after the initial COVID closure.
A classic which is always perfect!
the food was ridiculously tasty, though not cheap.
One of the best old-time steak houses in New York City.
Excellent Food and service from the Seafood bouquet to the excellent deserts. It was a once in a lifetime experience for us!
Great birthday celebration
Staff couldn’t have been nicer
Food was amazing
We will be back soon!!
Thank you all for a great evening
Typically we would go to Benjamin while in NYC however we decided to try here instead. The food and service were excellent. Pork belly, porter house for 2, lamb chop and grill fish were scrumptious. BTW the house Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa valley was too good!
It’s a classic. Food was excellent especially the crab cake appetizer. Menu is reduced as a post Covid opening. It was a treat!
The best service and steak money can buy. we visit each time we come to NYC.
Probably the best porterhouse I ever had!
Great place, great service, great food!
Always a fabulous meal here. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese side. Filet mignon portion feels generous.
It was everything we remembered and expected. It was our 35th anniversary, we were greeted and escorted to our table almost immediately (even though we were 1/2 hour early) the Sommelier appeared with 2 glasses of excellent Perseco as
A gift. The service was excellent. Very attentive, but we were never rushed!
We will be back!
