Food was good but staff was not the friendliest

Amazing food and a absolutely stunning experience. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Also, the waiters are very experienced and provide awesome service and a great atmosphere.

Anthony was fantastic and patient with our rowdy bunch.

Server wasn’t very friendly nor caring. Didn’t ask about drink refills and steak was super over cooked. Sent it back to the kitchen and they brought out a new one.

Favorite steakhouse in the country!! A little tight for seating.

Our waiter Paul made our dinner very enjoyable. Loved the steak and would definitely come back!

Always good for a great steak, great service. Have been going since 1981, and will continue to go.

Really enjoyed our dinner there. The atmosphere was good, not too noisy.
Serving sizes were too big. We ordered baked potatoes each...it would have been nice if the waiter had mentioned that the potatoes large....and they were. We would have only ordered one and shared it. That way there would not been wasted food.

Wine week is a lot of fun: very good wines and generous pours.

Went for wine week which is such a fun NYC event that few people know about. Even with the wine discounts, this place is expensive! The food and service are wonderful though- I wouldn't pass it up.

Smith & Wollensky is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC and Chicago. The Prime Rib is superb!
The only thing that surprised me this time is that having made the reservation long in advance, they offered us a table just next to the kitchen, which was very noisy,. It was only when I asked if there was a free table on the second floor that they seated us there.

Very bad experience, waited over 1 hour for the steaks we ordered, and the quality and taste was not good either. Have gone to this restaurant many times, this time was the worst.

Food was incredible as well as service

Every mouthful was pure pleasure. The service was delightful and masterful!

Nice greeting on arrival, few drinks in bar with friendly barman, however on paying for drinks before dinner, I was told that 2 of my cards didn’t work.... had me worried for rest of the evening ( checked bank following day - no issues with any cards). 2 of 8 steaks over done, one steak cold.... on leaving lady in cloakroom would not give coat back yet she never gave out the ticket on arrival... had to get manager to sort it and she remained very rude.

Wonderful experience , always good time

The waiter was very misleading as to the sizes of the meat we were ordering, trying to push us to order more food than we could possibly eat. It was as if he had not met a quota for the month or wanted us to spend a lot more money to increase the tip. We did not follow his advise and still could not finish the food we ordered. The Prime Rib was poorly cooked. I had been there many times in the past, but will not return after the experience with the misleading and pushy waiter and the badly cooked Prime Rib.

My steak was overcooked. There are better steakhouses out there

Not much to say other than fantastic food and great service. Expectations surpassed. Easily one of the best steakhouses anywhere and I’ve eaten at many throughout the US.

get the prime rib, medium rare, with the hash browns and creamed spinach. that's all you need

We had the lobster salads for lunch and it was delicious! The service is top notch and the food is right there too!

I have eaten here every time I've visited New York. This time is the only time I have felt the experience was over-priced. We waited 20mins for a table that had been booked well in advance. The hash browns had a slightly burnt taste.

It was alright. The steaks were luke warm. The bone in filet was average. The chocolate ganache dessert was excellent. The Brussels sprouts were ok.

waited 45 minutes for a small steak & scallops, the waiter tried to blame it on the well done steak, it's very much a male dominated restaurant, ALL waiters were men not one woman in sight, considering the prices they could at least have the main courses come with some veg but no you have to pay $10 upwards for a side. It's very loud & the tables are very close together, we were there for 7.30pm Monday night & it seemed to be mainly business men, I would guess only 10% of the clientele was women. Cheapest bt of wine is $50. We only had 2 mains, 2 desserts, water & wine & the bill came to $203.
Would not recommend this restaurant unless you're rich & don't mind getting ripped off.

Really busy, bustling restaurant with great steaks. Definitely worth a visit. Share if you have a smaller appetite as the portions are quite big!

Old school NY classic steak house. Love smith’s top three steak in all of NY. Danny the head waiter is the best.

Love Smith & Wollensky. It’s a long standing staple in New York and of you ever get the chance, I’d recommend dining here! It is worth the money!

It was a little tight on space but the food, drinks, and service was excellent. Wine list was very pricey.

As usual, the place, the food and the people were top-notch. The coolest place in the city!
