We arrived early to our reservation and were promptly seated. We received our menus, water, and bread in ample time, but then we sat there for thirty minutes without a waiter. At no point were we asked if we wanted anything to drink nor if we wanted appetizers or to order food. We even over heard waiters in a crowd together discussing who would be taking our table, which clearly none of them did. After sitting there for thirty minutes we decided to leave. I have never expected service this bad in such a well known establishment. We will not be returning and will be warming our friends, as well as clientele NOT to visit this restaurant.

Smith & Wollensky didn't serve the best steak I've had, or even a steak worth the price charged. What they did offer was great service and atmosphere that allowed me to ignore the dry filet mignon in front of me. I would recommend this restaurant, I plan to return, simply because I want to try the other items on the menu.
Great Food from a great steakhouse. Food quality is very high. Worth stopping by for lunch or dinner.
Valentine’s Day date
Everything was wonderful for our first Valentine's Day dinner as husband and wife.
Food was excellent!! The mushrooms a little salty but the food overall was really good.. the wait staff were kinda slow, but they were friendly and when you got their attention they were on point... ambience was really nice and professional... that prime rib!! Servings were big and good for 2 should have put that on the menu.. will be coming here again and again!!

A very good experience of being here, especially we just went to the new restaurant which opened in Taipei last month. Of course, the American steak in the original restaurant is the best.

The only REAL Smith & Wollensky. Iceberg and tomato with blue cheese, shellfish tower, bone-in sirloin, lamp chops, coconut cake are some favorites.
Food is great, you get a ton of food. Great portion sizes.

It was very nice. Food and waitstaff were excellent. It was just weird the we got there at 4:50 for a 5 pm reservation and went to the bar and had to wait until 5:15. Awesome Steak
Went there with my wife for a lunch during restaurant week. Both of us had filet mignon and it was as quite disappointing. Tasteless and did not feel like we were eating a decent stake. Service was good but food quite disappointing. Won’t be returning or recommending to anyone.
We were there for NYC Restaurant Week and they presented a nice variety and choice for the lunch. Service was great . . . sat upstairs with the people who didn't have jackets and ties:)

There should be some lower priced wines on the list; roasted potato side dish was overpriced and fairly tasteless; steaks were great.
The food here is outstanding and when you combine that with the attentive and friendly service I always receive from Mr. Yip, it makes for an incredible dining experience. The steaks are always cooked to perfection and their calamari is tender and tasty. I also love their new chocolate ganache cake with chocolate rum sauce. It is decadent. My sister had their coconut cake and that was also marvelous. But the chocolate cake just sent me to Heaven!
Nous y allons plusieurs fois par an. Excellente cuisine americaine. Specialites: les fruits de mer et surtout les steaks enormes. Ambiance et service sont excellents aussi. Un restaurant historique et incontournable de New York qui vaut le detour.
The steak tasted like charcoal n no one came to ask if the steak was cooked properly.
Lunch with the restaurant week menu was excellent. Everyone besides myself had the surf and turf. Everyone left very happy. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Been to other steakhouses for restaurant week and they seem to mail it in so far as quality of cut is concerned. Not Here! Will definitely be back.
The food was outstanding one of the best filets I ever had, loved the peppercorn sauce !The hash browns were a wonderful compliment to the steak. My date had New York strip it was also perfect ! 97 points ❤️ The service was impeccable.
The lobster cocktail was excellent, as was the burrata. We shared and enjoyed a steak, which they served sliced for us. The tables are a bit small and cramped, but we still felt like we were having a private meal.
Mario was our server and he was very attentive. We ordered filet mignon hard medium but it came out rare to medium rare. They took it back but then it was over cooked. I ordered the sirloin steak medium rare and it came out medium. The appetizers and side dishes were very good.
Mario gave us a piece of carrot cake and sang for my birthday, which was very nice. We had a very nice evening but we were disappointed with our steaks.
Great food served in an attractive atmosphere. Loved the fact that the tables are not crowded together and that the serving staff is attentive but not over-bearing. Certainly lives up to its reputation.
Nice food, nice service. Nice restaurant week experience. I add $10 for a 5oz lobster which make my lunch too much for me. Breads are also delicious. I like the butter they provided.
I was very disappointed at the New York restaurant. I had two birthdays scheduled for my dinner and we received no cards or birthday celebration. I mentioned to the waiter that the steak which was supposed to be Cajun had no flavor and that the South Beach restaurant steak was much better. My waiter said because there is a lot of latins that live there the food was highly flavored. I took offense to that and spoke to the manager. He said he would follow up with me and he has not as of yet. I prefer the South Beach restaurant. I have had three birthday celebrations there and have always been very satisfied!! I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
For some reason, the other night, the waiter was not as attentive as usual. He was ok, but not great. My first criticism in 50 meals there.
We came in yesterday to enjoy the Restaurant Week lunch offer. Our 10 ounce Filet Mignon's were so tender, you could practically cut them with your fork. Absolutely delicious as always. Service was very attentive and we were not made to feel "inferior" as we had a special offer. This restaurant is always a five star winner.
Service was slow
The prime rib n poterhouse that we order r good though still have some tendon that r hard to chew. Prime rib is so tasty that we all love it. Porterhouse taste good too. We will definitely go back nxt time. Hope it would be better.
