I’m sad this place is closing. They have the best staff in Boston. Our waiter seemed to know exactly when we needed him, and was never intrusive. Steaks are fantastic here. Chateaubriand for two is the best I’ve ever had. Don’t miss it.

Not worth the money - go to capital grille or Boston chops

This was one of the worst meal values that I’ve ever had. I am a long time s&w diner but I have to admit that it has been ten years since I visited. Service, ambiance and wine list were all very good and what I would expect for this kind of restaurant. But come on- Del Frisco’s is around the corner and there is simply no way that my rib eye steak at Smith could match up against Del Frisco’s. In fact the steak that my son and I had was small (smaller than advertised for sure), tasteless and tough. It was thin like a piece of choice grade meat in cellophane at the supermarket. My wife ordered a bone in veal chop as a special entree and it was all fat and she literally was able to extract two bites from her chop. Each of these entrees was more than $50. My other two sons ordered the smith and Wollensky specialty - filet mignon and that was appropriate for a steakhouse. The other three were way below standard and insanely overpriced. I did not complain at dinner bc it was to celebrate my sons birthday and didn’t want to make a scene but I would never go back with such other great choices and values available. Total cost for this meal with a single bottle of wine was $500 for five people. Private equity has not been good for s&w.

This my second time at this location and it's simply outstanding! The setting in the castle creates an amazing atmosphere at this classic restaurant that does not disappoint. Chose to host a birthday dinner for a group of 11 people and the food was amazing....from the appetizers to the dessert simply mouthwatering and everyone at the table raved about the food. Our waiter Josh Hodsen and the team helping him was outstanding. Our group was large, with lots of questions and at times rambunctious - but he was attentive all the way through!

Mother's Day Dinner was great! First time in the Castle for my kids and they thoroughly enjoyed it! Our servers Amy and Sherryl were the best! They kept us entertained while serving us a great meal.

Amy was our fabulous waitress and service could not have been better. Timing was impeccable, and I was very impressed with her level of knowledge and the teamwork between waitstaff. Food was standard of a steakhouse, but I found the steak to be under-seasoned for my taste. I'll ask for an added seasoning option the next time I visit, as S&W is known for only seasoning with salt and pepper. We wanted to visit the "Castle" location before it closed, and we are glad we did. Amy told us she would be serving at the waterfront location, so if you have a reservation there, I highly recommend requesting her!

There are so many better steak houses. Service was great but the food was mediocre. I wouldn't recommend.

This place was everything you want in a American steakhouse. Professional & attentive service, tasty sides, but the aged prime steak is king. Wine list offers wide selection. It could be the best I've had in years.

Nico, the bar manager, recommended the perfect wine to go with our dinner. It will be sad to see this iconic restaurant go at the end of June.

We made a reservation to celebrate our daughter's college graduation. Upon our arrival, we were immediately greeted and congratulated for our special celebration. We were seated and quickly greeted by our server, Rutie. She was excellent! Recommended several food options. She brought out delicious hot bread to our table while we were deciding on what items to order. Each person in our party had a different plate and each was delicious and cooked exactly as we ordered. The filet mignon was tender and mouth watering. My husband ordered the salmon and ate every morsel. Rutie made sure everything was to our complete satisfaction. Service was impeccable. We greatly enjoyed our dining experience. The only disappointment was that we were unfortunately not able to tour the upstairs as there was construction. However, an excuse to come back and visit soon! A memorable evening!
