A Boston favorite! Food delicious and it's very cool to dine inside a castle!
During this visit, our meal was made even more enjoyable by our awesome server, Paul. He was very attentive and engaging. We hope to dine with him on future visits! A+ service!
We had an excellent time at Smith and Wollensky . I was most impressed with the fact that they prepared a chicken dish for me because I do not eat red meat. My husband spoke to a gentleman named, Richard, during the day on Saturday. He apologized for not having chicken on the menu. Also, he did not have a standard, generic type white fish on the menu. Since I do not eat red meat
nor any fish other than a whitefish, there was really nothing for me to eat. He said he would call back to see if he could arrange for a chicken dish since they sometimes do that for private parties. He called back and he did in fact say that he could have chicken prepared. I was very impressed and will certainly recommend this restaurant to others. A big shout out to Richard for doing that.
Nice experience but the dry aged steaks were just ok. For this price, I expect better.
As always we had a great time. Food, service, and all the help .......great. Thanks again for a wonderful night.
Sides and deserts were wonderful. Steak (bone in fillet) was very disappointing, fatty and not cooked correctly. Service felt rushed. Server was very nice, but service felt rushed for a slow night.
Our go to restaurant for perfectly cooked steaks and amazing service.
We came with high expectations as the place had been recommended by friends and we had a pleasant dining experience at S and W in Chicago. Sadly the S and W Nack Bay could not live up to the expected standards. While the food was fine the service lacked quality. For such an expensive place you would expect impeccable service, what we experienced in an almost empty restaurant was horrible. Waiters leaned over us and half the table to pour more water into the glass of the person across instead of walking around the table to serve each of us individually, although there was plenty of walking space.
After talking our order the waiter came back and barked at one of our friends that they were out of lamb and he should choose another entree - without an apology and the menu to find another entree. That was very rude, should our friend have remembered the menu? And shouldn‘t waiters in such an upscale place know if they are out of something BEFORE people order?
After we had our appetizers another waiter came and brought us the dessert menu —- after we told him that we are still waiting for our entrees (!!!) he made an attempt of a joke and left.
We really had the worst waiters and service ever that night (all in relation to the price of the food) and will not go back to any S and W restaurant and can definitely not recommend the one at back bay.
Totally unimpressed. Very inattentive waitperson. We had to ask for water and even steak knives! My husband's $50 steak was cooked unevenly, tasted funny (burnt butter?) and not at all what a rib eye should look like. It took about 20 minutes for the waitperson to ask how our meals were. By that time, I was done and it was too late for my husband to get a replacement unless we wanted to eat separately. We ate there 5 years ago and it was great. What on earth happened to this place? If your prices are going to be high please back them up with quality food ! Will never return.
We are from Germany. This was our second stay at S&W. Great!
A quiet start to New Years. Mostly good but the sides were all cold.
