Smith and Wollensky is one of the best steak houses in Boston. Once again they did not disappoint. Service was excellent, food was outstanding.
It was great. Flew in from LA and had dinner here as it is one of our favorite restaurants in Boston. Was upset to hear it is closing in June. :( Victor was our waiter and he was great.
Food and service good. Need to have a minimum dress code. When I pay $60 for a steak on a Saturday evening don’t expect to sit near a guy with a T shirt and ball cap. Also more than one
Meeting up with an old college friend to relive our glory days, and it was fantastic.
What a great night! Our servers Amy & Cheryl were awesome!! I'd come back just to see them...that's how great they were!!
It would be hard to imagine a more beautiful, elegant setting fora special occasion dinner. The room is an old world classic with outstanding art, chandeliers and furniture
We chose S&W to celebrate my husband birthday & we both love the steaks & sides as always! Wait person was very attentive & very friendly! Will definitely be back again!!
Sherryl was one of the best waitresses that I’ve ever had. She was incredibly attentive and very friendly. Thanks so much for the great service.
Lovely experience for our Easter dinner, thank you! Food was excellent accompanied by an amazing tour by the Sommelier who was both knowledgeable, charming and very understanding/patient with our kids as well! Thank you.
We enjoyed sitting in the bar area after being seated by your friendly hostess, Melissa. She was very nice and helpful - answering our questions about the Castle. When your server Amy greeted us, we knew we were in good hands. She was very attentive, but did not hover ... very quick to respond to any of our requested as she got to know us. Food was fantastic.
Paul was wonderful to us in accommodating a number of dietary issues plus our time crunch with a BSO performance later that evening. He knew how to make a birthday dinner special!
Smith & Wollensky at the Castle, Back Bay Boston is always fantastic! We have been there many, many times and we were never disappointed! Amy was our server and everything was wonderful from our very warm greeting right down to the delicious food. The entire place is very welcoming! I would highly recommend Amy and Smith & Wollensky to anyone. I look forward to our next visit.
Sherry made the celebration of our engagement one we will always remember.
Not to mention the food was delicious.
Simply the best .
Extremely disappointed in the Filet Mignon. It was too salty and on the cold side. The fries were soggy as well.
Celebrated our kid’s first trip to Boston and both of their birthdays! Our server was excellent, patient, friendly and great with our table. Food was delicious along with the presentation. Love the building and history, too!
The food at restaurant week is just so so and the waiter do not give us a nice service. We waiting more than 10 mins for the menu when we get the seat.
Was in Boston for NCAA games and March For OurLives
Service exceptionally helpful and friendly
Cocktails and wine outstanding
Only part if meal that did not measure up was dessert - was rather flavorless
Have eaten in NYC restaurant and the desserts far exceed what was served here
Unique location and an old school steak house but ultimately not worth the money for the quality of food.
went for restaurant week had a great time, highly recommend.
Great place for a date night. You are nott rushed here and you really get to enjoy the whole experience. Definitely a must if looking for a great steak house in a really cool building in Boston!
Excellent food, attentive staff. First time at the restaurant and would definitely visit again.
Overall great experience.
Food was excellent. Good quality and cooked to perfection.
Our waiter was great with questions.
Service was great.
So good! John was very helpful with wine and food selection. Can’t wait to go there again!
Amy was the best. She shared a little history and answered every question about the food.
We had a good time for Dine in Boston week. Food was amazing and service was also amazing.
Went during restaurant week, pretty empty, don't know if it is better during normal times.
Cheap qualities of fish and steak. Never had a steak that burnt and chewy.
I made the reservation with the request for a quiet out of the way table for two, For my wifes Birthday. We knew we qere early and stated qe wanted to relax at the Bar. I was was rushed from the bar, to be plopped in the middle section of the the same Bar room. VERY disappointed. VERY NOISY. During dinner , another table received a desert with a candle , ours came with none. Now I can understand it being a Monday and all, but how is it any different cleaning up one table from the next 20-30 feet away there was plenty of open areas in other rooms. For them not to have a real dining room area open is a sham, plane laziness if you ask me. The food was good , the waiter was Good . JUST very disappointed in the whole scheme of things after waiting years to be able to go to the castle too get bummed.
Went during Dine out Boston. Service was odd- wrong orders, inattentive, disheleved appearance. Food was fine, but nothing special. Would not go at regular price. Building was gorgeous and we got a lovely tour
Outstanding Service however food was not up to par
We had early dinner reservation before seeing a show in the Theatre District. We were there on the first day of Restaurant Week and ordered from the special three course menu. The special menu was more extensive than other restaurants were offering. The food (entree filet mignonette) was delicious, cooked to order and so tender. The appetizers, sides and desserts were very tasty and generous. One of the highlights was the ambience and history of the building. The other highlight was the impeccable service all around but especially by our server, Paul. He was terrific and very attentive without being obstructive. A great night! We will be back.
Good fillet. Wonderful cocktails!! Beyond remarkable decor and ambiance!!
This occasion was for my son and his friend's 20th birthday celebrations. The had a fabulous time and said it was probably the BEST meal they ever had! They had the crab cakes, beef bacon, bone-in filet, mashed potatoes and chocolate cake! They also loved their server Josh.
Nice but not great value for money. We spent $150 per person for just average food. The server was very good but the overall service was slow considering that it was not very crowded. Quite a bit below Abe & Louie’s or Capital Grill for overall rating.
Our group had a great casual evening with a relaxed atmosphere
I remember going to S&W almost 15 years ago in NYC (3rd avenue). It was one of the happening places with amazing food and even better ambience. When I came to Boston and saw S&W sign near my hotel, I decided to bring my work colleagues here. Sadly the quality, ambiance and overall feel has gone down. The decor is stale, service is on par with TGIF and not what I remembered from many years ago.
Sadly I will not be returning to S&W in Boston.
Amazing meal. Definitely an experience. On the pricier side and definitely worth it every bite was better than the last. Had the aged ribeye with Gorgonzola topping and the lobster mac with truffle oil. Great night.
Paul provided outstanding service for our dinner. He made subtle suggestions that made the meal perfect. The food was cooked very well and the whole place was very clean and inviting. At the end of the meal the waiter brought out a pice of cake with a candle for our birthday girl and a very thoughtful card signed by the staff. Excellent experience. We will be back.
The food was great! I have been in many restaurants and this one so far is the best. The only downside is that there was a table of guys that were swearing and no one told them anything. Made me feel uncomfortable. Otherwise its greatly recommended.
