Joshua made our night one to never forget! Thank you!
Great service. Best side dishes of all the Boston steakhouses weve been to. Average steaks
The food is excellent and the service is wonderful.
We usually visit the New York Location, which we love. When we went to Boston, we visited this location.. The steak was very good, but the lobster tail w/ crab was dried out and over cooked. The salad wedge was good, and the bread. Overall wasn't impressed, which was disheartening since we Love the New York location so much. If you are spending over $250 for a meal, it should be great!
Catherine was our waitress and she was a pleasure to talk to. We were celebrating our engagement and Catherine helped make it a special meal.
Outside of her service we really hope y’all bring back the 80 after 8! We used to come all the time with that special!
Max and Caroline
The server was very apathetic and robotic especially for a night like new years eve. The steak was of great quality however
The service via our server was excellent . However when having steak here at the price charged you would expect it cooked to your liking the first time we had to wait for 3 attempts. The salmon was cold and when i told someone it came back slightly warmer but dried up . Wine served after we had finished our meal. The bill was altered to reflect these issues however it did spoil our evening
Great service and food as always. Service was outstanding with our server who we had on our last visit at the Wellesley location. She made our Anniversary special.
We had an incredible time at Smith and Wollensky!! Absolutely best server!! Can’t wait to go back!
Service was very disappointing. The restaurant was not crowded, but we continually needed to search for our server for basic items - drink refills, ordering, the check, etc. Again, given the prices and the lack of a crowd, the service was very disappointing.
waiter was amazing!!!! Made the dinner event that much better for my family
Absolutely amazing food, ambience, and service. Parking for $10 next door was a bonus. The bone in filet mignon my friend had as incredible, the crab cake, soup, veggies, and grain were superb. Even the bread was special and exceptional. Mostly, the server was professional, funny, and gave great suggestions. What a lovely dining experience!
Beautiful restaurant great location. Say at the bar and bartender was nice enough just not super polished nor urgent. Tuna entree was fair and the king crab entree was fair at best. It’s a shame because it’s such a nice space. Excellent wine list and Coravin selections by the glass.
What a glaring contrast with our experience two nights earlier at Strega Waterfront! This was what a fine dining experience should be (and everything that Strega wasn’t) comfortable atmosphere, outstanding service, no waiting. Plus great food and good wine which both shared. Also very good, very strong mixed drinks, which we didn’t try at Strega.
We were there on a much quieter night, day after Christmas vs Christmas Eve so the comparison is not entirely fair. But Here it was clear that servers actually take pride in the work rather try to spend any slack moment chatting. Our server was particularly good, attentive but not hovering, friendly and funny but not irritatingly chummy, really wish we’d gotten his name so I could publicly thank him for restoring my faith in the profession.
It’s a steakhouse and very much focused on the carnivore, even the brussel spouts came with nearly as much bacon (huge chunks not skinny bits) as sprouts. So not the place to come if you don’t care for meat. The food is also quite salty, so those with salt restrictions should mention that when ordering. And I do quibble with most entrees not coming with any sides; one of the few complaints I had, it feels nickel and dining. But everything from soup to dessert is well prepared and delicious. In fact, my father thought the lamb chops the best he’d ever had. And watch out for the martinis: they are potent!
I’m not a fan of the obsessive logoing of everything from cutlery to napkins, but all of those are comfortable and substantial. The atmosphere is men’s club cozy, traditional and comfortable.
Everything about the evening was relaxing and enjoyable, a perfect continuation of our holiday festivities. Thank you Smith & Wollensky!
I had a great Christmas dinner for two. The steaks were good, Asparagus, Bread were great! Mac and cheese not so much.
Good things: The steaks were tasty, tender and cooked perfectly. Service was good, despite it being very busy. Not so good: The veggies were good but very salty (which is common in a lot of restaurants). Not a fan of their bread--seemed like a big white bread roll. The "strawberry sipper" was bland.
Great place for meat. Unfortunetally the recommendation ( most expensive dish of meat) was sold out 20min earlier. Wine by the Glass was exzellent.
Outstanding experience. Treated warmly by the personable staff from the front desk to bar to table. Food drinks and service are top notch - can’t wait to return.
Food was very good. Portions were appropriate. Service was disappointing, as we were there for 2 hours and 45 minutes for a table of 4; no drinks or deserts.
The location is enticing, as it is on the water, and easy to get to via mass transit. The front of house staff is friendly and attentive to every detail of your visit. The bartenders are top shelf (get it?). The waitstaff is courteous and professional. The food is yummers.
Great food poor service. We felt at times we were being ignored there was no suggestions about what to order, it was our first
Time time and would have appreciated some suggestions once our food was served we didn’t see a server Until we asked for the bill
Manny provided excellent service and the food was incredible.
Best steak I have ever had...we shared the 44 oz Wagyu Tomahawk ribeye...so good. The hash browns and desserts were good as well
Definitely the worst experience we have had here. My Steak had to be recooked twice. Manager never came over to table to see if everything was okay. We were celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday which we had done here in the past and this was by far our worst experience.
Cauliflower undercooked, rest of meal was awesome.
Servers were friendly and efficient.
Food was pretty good, but not outstanding. Service was really good. But the bill felt very high for the night. We both agreed the Capital Grille would have cost less and had better food overall. We had a nice evening out, but probably won’t return.
The worst service I have ever experienced by an extremely rude and unprofessional waitress. Management didn’t really care either. We have been to the Boston S&W for the last 5 years on Christmas Eve. Will never go to this restaurant again - never - it was that bad. Ruined our Christmas Eve!!
Very bad service. Need to chase the waiters all the time.
A really nice dining experience , could be a little more pleasant and not so transactional. The manager, host and bartender were not warm. I did not feel genuine care or comfort.
Staff needs to learn how to convert PPX loyality card credits into current bill.
The food was great. However, we were a few minutes late for our 8pm reservation but did not get seated until 8:50. The service wasn’t great, did not get bread, didn’t get asked if we needed a second drink. Also there was an extra drink charge on our bill and the waiter never came back so we could ask him about it.
We went for my husband’s birthday. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were tended to immediately. Our table was ready, waitstaff was very attentive and the food was delicious. Since it was a busy Saturday night, it got quite loud but that’s expected.
By far the best meal we have had. Service was amazing. Everything was perfect!! Highly recommend!
Nice restaurant, good atmosphere, not worth the price whenever
Food was pretty good, especially the wedge salad and the steaks (I would hope so). Can't comment on dessert as we didn't stay due to the lackluster service. Our waiter wasn't particularly friendly, had to be flagged down several times just to refill drinks, and generally seemed indifferent to our dining experience. I think he may want to consider a career change. I've had great meals at other S&W locations but clearly I won't be going back to the Boston branch.
Service was very poor! Our waitress didn’t understand the menu well at all. We had to wait soooo long for food to come! Got there at 8 pm salads arrived at 9:30! Delayed my event so bad.
And the Salads were horrible..
When eating at a ‘high end’ steakhouse, the little things are important. What are the little things, well here are a few: Take the order. Write down the order. Repeat the order to the customers. Waiter didn’t seem to do the ‘write down’ part and certainly didn’t do the ‘repeat’ part. When questions were asked to the waiter about the steaks ‘with bones’ it must have confused him. As I ordered a Bone-In-Filet, only to then be served a ribeye with a bone-in, well subsequently both the waiter and the manager failed to do the right thing. Simply stated, this was a Sunday night. Maybe, just maybe there were 12 people in the dining area. Not crazy busy, not overloaded, just business. Can not and will not ever recommend this S&W.
Tremendous. Well done!
Overall restaurant was very nice, however the restaurant was fairly empty and they seated us in the worst spot. The entire time felt like the staff was just watching us. Not sure I’d go again. Food was ok and worth the price tag.
Great food and service, as you’d expect from this chain of restaurants. The options for non steak eaters was good and plenty of good wine to choose from.
