Great food and service! Everyone was all smiles and so kind.
We went for my son’s 18th birthday. When we arrived at the table there was a birthday card on the table. Food and service was great. At the end of the meal, the waiter brought us a huge piece of chocolate cake on the house. It was delicious. We had a lovely time and would definitely go back.
Medium rare filet was well done. Expensive for what you get.
Absolutely great service. We had a very enjoyable experience with the waiter/bartender, manager and food runner; everyone was very accommodating and friendly.
After years and years as a Smith & Wollensky patron, I recently switched to this Congress Street location (the service at the Arlington Street location had declined to an unacceptable level). The service at Congress Street is outstanding. The bar scene at Congress Street is much more lively although a table not far away was fine for detailed business conversation (and celebration). The food was outstanding. Both my guest and I had entrees that were exquisitely prepared and done exactly to our specifications. The management team does a very nice job from General Manager Peter Baker who also doubles quite competently as Sommelier to Rachel Carlson who was handling Maitre D' responsibilities that evening. Overall, five star review!
Never disappoints. My only critique was the asparagus was a bit straggly, too thin and droopy. Steak tips tender, tasty and cookie perfectly. I had the white chocolate warm bread pudding for dessert and it was absolutely delightful. My friend had the apple crisp is was also very impressed. If I wasn't full to the brim I would have liked to taste it. Oh well..... next time.
Went to the restaurant on business lunch 2 days in a row. Love the place. It's not cheap, so I guess if it wasn't business, I would have to skip the appetizer salad and the coffee after. Steak Frites with peppercorn sauce is really good, creamed spinach excellent.
Meh..... awful vegetarian options, pathetic beer selection. If you have vegetarian friends, go somewhere else. Have been having the boiled cauliflower here for the past 3 times. You'd think they'll change the only vegetarian dish they have, haven't changed it for the past 5 years.
Food and service were great but restaurant was very quiet - not what we had expected on a Friday evening. Would eat here again
Looking for a special night, this is the place for good food and service. Very quiet night and not too busy so wait staff had the time to talk and pamper.
Our server was very helpful and attentive. I really felt as though he was paying attention to us as well as guiding how we should order, which makes a difference if you do not want to over/under order. There is so much push to sell, rather that host an experience for customers these days. So I would definitely go back. BUT they should really add the baked potato (and maybe creme brulee) to the menu - i mean, those are classics!!
We had a great dinner here. The steaks were cooked perfectly and all sides were delicious.
Delicious food, great service!
Amazing food and great service. Wish I had the money to go every week! Try the Gigantic Chocolate Cake...you don't regret it.
Valentine’s Day dinner. Service was poor. Food was very good but overpriced. Wine pours are very small. I enjoy a good steakhouse, but greed is another matter.
We sat for almost an half hour without being seen. It was not worth the hassle or money.
They put us in a table that was located right in front of the kitchen, just a few feet away from its entrance. The noise that was emanating from your bustling kitchen was extremely annoying. Servers kept going back and forth to and from the dining room, with one in particular making his way through a narrow path between our table and the kitchen wall to get to the private dining room. He had to maneuver himself and the cart he was pushing against our table in order to open the door to the room and every time he did that we had to pause our conversation to watch him awkwardly navigate himself. The temperature in our area fluctuated between too hot to too cold despite the efforts by one of your servers to control it. The highlight of our ordeal took place when one of the servers dropped a pile of dirty plates on the floor causing a lot of noise and for any of the guests and servers who passed that area afterwards to slip and almost fall. For about 15 minutes our “entertainment” consisted of watching your crew throwing napkins on the floor, then spreading salt, then mopping the floor, then putting a yellow sign and eventually placing a mat on top of the oil slick. In between these efforts, our role was to warn anyone who approached that to be careful or risk breaking a bone.
Stay away from this restaurant!!!
It was fantastic!
Oh my gosh! I went for Valentine’s Day with My girlfriend celebrating our five year anniversary and we had the best server, Grace! Please ask for her, she knows her food. We ate so much and it was all so amazing. The beef bacon is NOT to be skipped, they don’t play around there! Overall, beautiful place and amazing food with great servers! Only downfall was the wait, even though I had a reservation and I arrived late after having called. In there defense, it was Valentine’s Day.
I requested the table next to window two month in advance and still didn’t get it
The food were too salty. And I am very disappointed.
Went here on Valentine's day and it was a great spot. Delicious food and excellent service!
Fantastic meal - the bone-in ribeye was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. Service, cocktails - everything was great.
The restaurant was great! The reservation through Open Table was really bad! Did not have reservation according to the host when I got there. It was Valentine’s Day, good that they have table available.
The food was delicious. Best steak tips I have ever had! We went on Sunday for lunch and almost had the restaurant to ourselves.
The food, service and ambiance were great !!! lots of fun and we look forward to returning.
I've been to this S&W about 20 times since it opened. The best upscale chain steakhouse in Boston.
Great food, but felt like we were being rushed out....
Entire experience was excellent. Wait staff was professional and friendly and prompt but not intrusive. Food was prepared to perfection and the presentation impeccable. A bit beyond our normal price point and would only return for very special occasions.
The angry shrimp is a must
Great atmosphere ,food and service, doesn't get better than that!
Cena di lavoro
Never disappointed with this restaurant....Excellent food, outstanding service !!
We went to Smith &Wollensky on Congress St for my 65th Birthday and my niece's 15th Birthday, there was 7 of us on a Sunday, reservation at 4:00, we had a great time, will definately go again
Great steak sandwich for lunch!
Excellent food. Top notch service, she even warmed the cream for our coffee.
For the money this was a very disappointing experience, food was not good, service was not attentive, other customers were openly complaining made for a very unpleasant experience.
