Everything was amazing! Our waitress was super nice, recommended amazing meals, and gave my husband and I complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary. Amazing evening with wonderful food and great service
Celebrated 49th anniversary here this weekend. Adam was a top notch server, really knew his stuff. Steaks were spectacular, great special occasion spot.
We were celebrating a family member's educational milestone and were thoroughly impressed with the food and service provided by the staff at Smith & Wollensky Boston. The young man who took care of our table provided outstanding service and made sure that our evening was unforgettable. From the complimentary champagne and dessert to the thoughtful menu recommendations, this was one of the best meals we have had in Boston. Kudos to the entire team.
We had a 630 reservation and showed up a little early and were seated promptly. Servers were attentive, food was cooked perfectly and delicious.
Impeccable service and reliable quality of food
Delivered everything a high end steakhouse should deliver!! Ambiance and waiter (Adam) was fantastic and the service was excellent. Shrimp cocktail was amazing - very fresh. We both got 10oz. Filets cooked to perfection. The sides were amazing!! Mac & Cheese, hash browns (best I have ever had) and onion rings (for fun).
A great night!
My wife and I needed a special day out. S and W was a spur of the moment decision and it was a perfect ending to a great day. Our waiter was the nicest gentleman you could meet in restaurant and hospitality. He really made our dining experience great. Thanks so much
We went for an early dinner for my father’s birthday and had an amazing experience. We were wined and dined with beautiful views and impeccable service. The food was fantastic for both the carnivores and herbivores in our party. The waiter accommodated all of us with our dietary needs and we can’t wait to come back!
It was great!
Food, atmosphere, wait staff were all amazing. I'm not sure if it is worth the price though unless you go during eats week.
We had dinner at the Boston restaurant last night. What a disappointing experience. We had the worst waiter. First our appetiser was delivered without any mention of whether we would like to place our order. We had no where to place our menus other than placing them under our food since it was a somewhat small table for the three of us. My filet was delicious but one at the guests at the table had a different steak which was tough and not edible. When the waiter asked about our meals she told him she couldn't cut it with a knife and did he have a sharper one which he brought to the table. That knife wouldn't cut through it either. I am extremely shocked that he did not offer to bring her something else in it's place. Even the 99 restaurant would do that...... When he returned to take our dessert order, he could see that she did not eat the steak. Then to top it off, when he brought the check, he never cleaned the table of the dessert plates! When he returned for us to sign for the check, he picked up two of the three plates..........seriously. When we left, one dirty plate was still on the table. I expected more of your restaurant.
My workplace went during restaurant week
steak tips were tough and not cooked medium rare for 2 in our party
butcher burger during restaurant week was just average, but expected more for $25 price, we expected more of a steak burger than a regular hamburger
two people ordered the salad, but it seemed overpriced at $25
I had the Salmon which was fine
overall disappointing we will not go back
Food was good, service was ok and I think it’s because of restaurant week.
Went to take advantage of Dine Out Boston. I was happy to get reservations the night before. Our waiter Nathan was pleasant and helpful. He was there when we needed him abut he didn’t hover. The food was outstanding
We dined during Dine Out Boston. The food and service were both very good. Steak was cooked exactly as ordered. I would come back next time visiting Boston.
went w coworkers for a party of 10 for dine out boston. apps i got soup that was served cold. the entree was very good for the price point. dessert is one of the best i’ve seen in fine dining i’d say. but what impressed me the most was the waiters. we had a colleague who was 30 mins late and they did remake her soup.
not a very memorable interior decor tbh but overall, would return. excellent service like that is hard to come by in these times.
Accommodating for our party of 11 was outstanding. The staff was attentive and professional.
Restaurant Week, but would define go back because the food was amazing and unforgettable. Great atmosphere for any type of fine dinning.
Clam Chowder and steak was awesome!
We went on a Tues @ 6pm during Dine Out Boston and the place did not appear to be overly busy (there were quite a few open tables). While the food was amazing, the service totally lacked. Our server just seemed to disappear and took extremely long between courses - we waited for 15 mins for the bill to arrive and another 10 for us to be able to sign. We dine out regularly and we only request for drink refills, box up leftovers & check please. More likely than not, will be going to another steakhouse over S&W in the future.
Went out with friends for dine out Boston week and had an amazing meal. The food was incredible and the service was fantastic! Our server, Jordan, did a wonderful job explaining the dine out menu and was very responsive. We had a lovely meal and evening!
Everything about our meal was perfect! Highly recommend at NY Strip
Convenient and nice setting but a typical higher priced steak house experience
My husband and I dined here for Dine Out Boston, so this review is based on the prix fixe menu provided for the event.
The bread rolls are really great and I'm a sucker for whipped butter. The coconut cake was also pretty good, though you could tell it was pre-made.
The filet mignon and New York strip were...fine. If you had nothing to compare it to, I would definitely think they were up there. But we've been spoiled by our local steakhouse experiences like Mooo and Boston Chops and those steaks were much more flavorful and memorable.
The not so good:
Our server was obviously not a fan of Dine Out Boston week. He tried to upsell us at every turn, deter us from the fixed menu. We added sparkling water and a side to our order, but really just to appease him. After he realized we weren't going to order more than the minimum, the service was...not bad, he wasn't rude or anything - but certainly not as attentive as I would suspect he otherwise would be. The pressure to not order from the Dine Out menu was definitely a bit off putting.
Overall, it's a solid experience, a nice environment, but with as much competition there is in this city, there are other places I would rather go to for similar fare and pricing.
Our waiter was extremely helpful and very attentive.
I highly recommend Smith and Wollensky for any occasion. This was our second time at this location and we will definitely go back again soon! We both ordered filet mignon cooked medium rare which literally melted in your mouth. The waitstaff is super attentive and friendly! Great place!!
Friends birthday dinner. Service was sub par. Server told us it was restaraunt week and that was the only menu available. Felt like our meals were rushed so she could get another table in. However the food was amazing so that was the positive
We visited in the late afternoon on a Sunday, so the restaurant was pretty quiet.
We were seated promptly and the waitstaff was helpful and there when we needed them.
Food was very good as it has been on previous visits.
Overall an enjoyable Sunday dinner.
Food always great !
Had outside table for party of 4. Attentive service, nice ambiance. We ordered in part from the bar menu, and all the food was well prepared and high quality.
The service and food were excellent
Outdoor patio is amazing!
We tried this place for restaurant week - it was enjoyable. Only disappointing part was that the entrees did not come with sides (it’s typically a la carte, but usually during restaurant week restaurants will include shareable sides as part of the promo) and we had to wait quite awhile for our food to come out due to how busy the kitchen was. In my opinion, the sides we did order off of the regular menu (crispy prosciutto potatoes and onion rings) were an even bigger hit than the steak entrees. It’s worth a visit here, but be prepared to spend a lot.
Service was extremely slow and I am not entirely sure why, the place was not even close to capacity, lots of empty tables and we made a reservation. I have been to Smith and Wolls a few times now over the years at other locations and the food is always very good and again this most recent trip the food was good again. I actually tried something other than steak, Had the pork chops and they came out really good.
I would probably only go back to the bar area here to avoid an extremely long dinner.
I went during restaurant week and got the Filet Mignon it was amazing and i would 10 out of 10 recommend to anyone.
Also don't sleep on the mashed potatoes they were seasoned and whipped to perfection.
The food is amazing and a great place for a business lunch. The service was terrible though. I expected better service. They never filled my water and once the food arrived, she didn’t stop by to see if we needed anything. We saw our server to order and to pay. I have been here before and had impeccable service so I hope this was just a fluke.
I used to love this place, so I was excited to go back. My husband and I sat at the bar. It wasn’t a busy night and we could not get the attention of the bar tenders at all. Our meal came out so slowly and everything was salty. It was just very disappointing overall. We’re pretty chill diners, but there are so many other steakhouses that offer better service. It was honestly the worst service I’ve had in years.
I visited the Smith & Wollensky at Boston for Dine Out Boston. Servers are friendly and very good. My steak is a bit overcooked, which I found disappointing. I didn't told my server because I don't want to waste food. I think they cut the height of their chocolate cake in half. I like their chocolate cake a lot.
Restaurant week Boston 8/19/19
The eighty after 8 is fantastic!!
