I just had the most AMAZING experience at Smith and Wollensky. The first time we came was over a year ago for the Whole Cow experience they had. It was one of the best nights we have ever had at a steak house. To be honest, I did not think this could be beat. We decided to come back to Smith and Wollensky for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. COVID has ruined the majority of our plans, including our plans to travel for our anniversary. It only seemed right to make up for it by coming to Smith & Wollensky. This was the best decision we could have made!
Our waitress Claudia was PHENOMENAL. She was sweet and helped us with all of our questions and needs. She checked on us frequently and made it a point to make sure we felt comfortable. In the process we met Renée, who was also welcoming and very funny. It felt like we were dining with old friends. The food was phenomenal, and the Chef Jorge checked in on us after we ordered the Tomahawk and our Cookie Skillet. He was so nice and AGAIN made us feel so welcomed. Issac also checked in on us multiple times during the dinner which only solidified the level of service we not only expected but also received.
To be honest we felt like the staff was there to specifically celebrate our anniversary with us. From the hostess to the waitress to the chef and everyone we interacted with, it was a beautiful experience. They were graceful, kind and detailed throughout the night. We can't wait to tell our friends and family about this night. And we honestly can't wait to come back. If you're reading this review, read no further! Make your reservation NOW!
Wonderful friendly service, quiet summery outdoor area perfect for outdoor dining. The food was great as always, including the grand finale dessert.
Lovely dinner outside. Stealth service. On point with COVID precautions.
George is the best! Great food and service. Great for date night
Great service , friendly staff
Food was great can’t wait to go back
Outstanding food and service. Tomahawk rib eye is to die for. Fried lobster appetizers are delicious. A truly outstanding experience with beautiful outdoor seating.
Great food and outside seating. During the pandemic it is important to feel like the staff and servers are committed to making clients safe. We felt safe the whole meal and the staff were quite professional. Definitely recommend if you are looking for waterfront outside seating during the pandemic
Perfect place for us to meet a friend for lunch. Great outdoor spot on the waterfront.
Excellent service and great food!!!!
Great service for our anniversary with a complimentary champagne toast!
Exceptional experience from start to finish. We especially appreciated the very strict adherence to Covid19 protocols. Every singe staff member wore a mask, tables were well spaced, and nothing that had been touched by other diners was placed on our table. And with all that, it remained an elegant, relaxing, perfectly paced dinner. I won't go on and on about the food because everything was perfect, and everything I saw being carried by to other tables looked scrumptious.
I do want to call out our waitperson, Claudia, who could not have been more helpful and friendly. She was there when we needed her, didn't hover or appear when we didn't, and was warm and available without being intrusive. I will ask for her station when I go back.
Food and experience was fantastic! Everything was cooked perfectly, tables/restaurant was very clean and spaced out properly. Our waiter, Adamo was attentive, funny and all around great. Would recommend requesting him for top notch service.
Our first experience dining out since the pandemic hit Boston in mid March and could not have asked for a better experience. Tables were very spread out, restaurant was not crowded and all employees were wearing masks/gloves. Tamara was our server and was outstanding! Super friendly, gave great recommendations and was there whenever we needed anything. The chef even came out to make sure our steaks were cooked to our liking. Will definitely be back soon!
great food, great service, great location, easy parking, great experience
NY Strip boneless lacked flavor.
food was excellent.
service great. total social distancing
ate inside and was very comfortable.
Staff was fabulous. They accommodated every request with a smile. Great outdoor space with seating more than 6 feet apart.
Celebrated our anniversary with some friends. Fist time there . We were seated inside of restaurant ,would of preferred outside instead, appetizers were good, we all got steaks,3 out of the 4 were cooked to our liking but my husband ordered his medium and it came out raw inside, by the time the waiter came back to check on us the 3 of us were almost done with ours and they took his back to cook it more and it kind of ruined his meal. He was eating his still while we were done with ours. The sides were good . We did stay for dessert because we saw someone get the chocolate cake which was really good and the coconut cake was also delicious .
I think if the steak did not come out raw, I would of given you 5 stars, but if your reputation is being a good steak house ,you should know how to cook a steak the correct way every time. We will come back, but not for awhile.
Great starter with Burrata but disappointed by the quality of the seafood tower. Background music was loud and intrusive.
I was very unhappy our server wore his mask only in his mouth not his nose. A place like Smith & Wollensky should train their staff to wear the mask appropriately. We put our masks on when he took our order or served us. Shocked this was the case as most of the staff wore the mask appropriately although we saw 3 or 4 who did not.
Great staff and location. Very accommodating. The food was great
Great outdoor business lunch spot.
We waited a while for our waiter to come over. Seemed that there was miscommunication between the host and server. Once we got our server, they stopped by sporadically, and had to wait 20 min to get our check. Food was very good, and it seemed that if you ate outside, the service was better.
Food very good. Service was excellent. A manager came around to make that we had everything that we needed.
Amazing food, awesome staff, nearby parking, great date!!
The staff was very nice and friendly. I felt they could have been a bit more attentive. We ordered steak. Two of the steaks are cooked well but one was overcooked. We sent it back and it came out under cooked. They took it back again and it was still undercooked. For a steak at that price I would expect it to be perfectly cooked.
With the few steak houses we love closed still we decided to give this spot a try for it's patio seating. We were trying to celebrate my husbands 50th. Big, pricey mistake! The service was poor and the food was just not good. Once our main courses were dropped we never saw our waiter again and our drinks sat empty for most of our meal. By the time someone else finally came over we were done with the experience! I would not even recommend this place to my worst enemy!!
We salvaged the Bday dinner at the Capital Grille Monday night :)
It was to celebrate Father’s Day. It was magnificent
Had reservation. Very good waitress.
My husband ordered steak and I ordered the salmon.
The steak was not great and my dinner arrived warm.
We brought it to the attention of our server and she spoke to the manager.
Told him we had been coming to that location since they opened and that the steak was not up to their usual standards. They gave me another salmon to take home.
Manager revised bill and took off steak.
We thanked him and told him we would be back.
Phenomenal meal. Went to celebrate Father’s Day and this was the perfect place to be spoiled.
Absolutely my new favorite place!
1. It took 30 minutes to get a drink order
2. It took probably 50 min to get apps and there was a hair in it
3. After an hour we had our appetizers
4. Our server didn’t like wearing a mask, but would lean over the table to talk. So we asked him to put his mask on and he rolled his eyes and only covered his mouth, but not his nose.
5. An hour and 15 min in we get our entres
6. Were seated in an area with no lights and spiders start coming down from the awning.
7. About 40 min after our entres are dropped our server checks on us
8. We ask for the check and he drops an automatic machine and disappears, never to be seen again for the rest of the night.
9. The salad with the hair was still on the bill.
10. An $18 glass of wine, he rang in as a $22 glass.
11. But as I said, there was no one to be found so we just paid (and tipped 20% because that’s the right thing to do).
12. Over two hours into the meal and more than 1.5/2 hrs since the hair incident, a manager approached our table and wishes us a good night and that he hopes we had a nice experience.
13. Finally, I speak up and say it was “just ok” and he says “well I hope it was better than ok!” And I said “well we had a hair in our salad and still had to pay for it, which seemed a little weird.” And his response was “oh that was you?” So he knew about it but didn’t care to do anything about it. And then he said, “who is your server?” Shouldn’t that be something that the manager knows? So we say “we never knew his name but he’s the one who doesn’t wear a mask” and then he said “okay, let me ask.” 15 min later he never came back. We left because we had been there 2.5 hours. When we walked out, he was by the door and hid, as to not have to confront us. That was definitely bizarre but gave us a good laugh, because it was pretty par for the course after the experience we had. All in all it wasn’t good, and we would probably not recommend going unless it’s the only available restaurant in Boston.
Lovely dinner and view!
I needed it so bad after Covid lockdown!
The food was great and elegant!
Our server was also so kind and fun’
Very impressive will go again soon!
Thank you 😊
Julian took amazing care of my father and myself on Saturday before Father’s Day. Amazing service and amazing food!
Our server was excellent, the food was amazing and we are happy to see restaurants opening up slowly but successfully!
It was a welcome relief to be able to sit in such a beautiful place after not being able to dine in anywhere for three months. My steak was fantastic. Ambience terrific and the staff wonderful.
Great experience dining al fresco. Tables distanced. Really enjoyed
Food was outstanding - from the steaks to the sides. The outdoor seating by the channel, with a view towards the Seaport was comfortable and spacious.
Nice afternoon lunch outside - great service and delicious food as always
Everything was great, Mike was our server. One suggestion is that the weather was fine in day but went down 60-degrees by 7pm so having some torch/heaters would have make the experience more enjoyable.
