I hav eaten here twice and both times the food was very good. Everyone in our parties enjoyed their meals. However, the decor is spartan and they have outdoor metal chairs in the back dining room.

It was our first time & we loved it!! I wanted everything on the menu. What really made our experience was our server Chace. Talk about customer service 👏👏👏 reminds me of old times when customer service was important. He went above & beyond & was very pleasant to talk with. We'll be back.

We went here before The Reba concert! The staff was so friendly! They played fun music. Our server a chase was fantastic. We loved the Brie and flatbreads. Highly recommend Smith and River!

A wonderful Birthday dinner with friends. Food and service were exceptional! Jeremy our server was just perfect - did not rush us and was very friendly and informative on the menu etc… our first time to Smith & River - we will be back!

Food was very good. The steak was a bit closer to rare than medium rare. Really nice wait staff and beautiful restaurant, but noise level was really high. Some sound reduction measures would be nice.

One of the best dinners that we have had in Reno in a couple years! The lamb meatballs and prosciutto flat bread were delicious, as were entrees. We ate early so there were open tables when we arrived by was quiet busy by 6:30.

Excellent meal! All of our entree's were prepared beautifully. We had, warm brie appetizer prior to our main courses of: Salmon, Short Ribs, Mary's Chicken and the Cauliflower Risotto. Great selection of drinks and desserts. We felt the prices were good for the quality of the food and the attention to detail to the food. The only downside is the atmosphere is not conducive for having a table conversation without projecting loudly. The background music coupled with the hardscape of the restaurant makes it difficult to have an intimate dinner. Great food though!

Slow service, forgot one of our appetizers- brought it out at same time as the entree. Waiter told us special was Brussels sprouts for appetizer and artichoke hearts is what came out. Menu was just ok, dessert menu looked the best but we didn’t get anything at that point.

The decor is warm and inviting. Casually upscale. The food was all beautifully plated and delicious. We shared the prosciutto and burrata flatbread. Our party chose the grilled pork chop, Mama’s chicken, sea food pasta and braised short rib. We also shared the Black & Tan gelatos and the Banana Fosters cake. The desserts were amazing. We can’t wait to return.

We had a really good dinner here. We had to wait a few minutes past our reservation, but it was busy, and we were glad to see that. The manager/hostess kept us updated while we waited for our table. Cocktails were good, as well as the food. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food and unique ingredients used. We will be back!

Four of us went to this restaurant after attending a performance at the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts. The food and the service were excellent. The menu was varied, so there was something for everyone. We’ll definitely go back.

Out of the wine we wanted, took 4 seperate time to figure out which wine we wanted. Out of the dinner we ordered. We weren’t informed until 20 minutes after the order was place. Good but expected better service for the price point.

Our first experience was Valentine's Day. It was packed. We sat in the bar area at a high top, that wouldn't have been my preference. I received a rose. The bartender was friend and accommodating. We had duck confit with a cassoulet. It was delicious, but arrived not hot. We had a wedge salad, which was delicious. A fig tart, which was a little dry and a flour less chocolate torte for dessert, which was very rich, dense and delicious. They paired each course with a wine. The wine menu is very good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the experience and we will be back.

We had a wonderful dinner. The pork chop and the short ribs dinners and the sides served with them were delicious and perfectly prepared. We started with the beet salad which was great too. It was a very busy dinner service and the staff was working incredibly hard. In spite of how busy they were our waiter was still able to pay attention to detail and check in with us regularly as did the host. We would definitely dine at Smith and River again.

Loved that they allowed us to order from the January Reno Vegan Chef Challenge menu by request after the challenge had ended. Everything was delicious for everyone in our party (both vegan and non-vegan options). Really hope these vegan/plant-based menu items will stick around and potentially make it onto the regular menu in the new year! Our friends enjoyed the Mary’s chicken special and grilled octopus and said they were excellent as well - loved that there was something for everyone ❤️

just about perfect: Hamachi crudo was fresh and flavorful Grilled octopus, dine as well as we’ve ever had it, it transported us to Mikonos Grilled pork and Rigatoni dishes were delicious and very generously served. This place along with Wild River ( nearby) make for a real dining scene on the river in Reno

This was my second trip to Smith & River. Menu is well-thought through with a varied but manageable number of options. I and my co-diners all found our selections to be inventive and delicious. Craft cocktail menu is fun. The service and overall atmosphere was hospitable and congenial. Will be back!
