Birthday. Excellent experience, server was very friendly, excellent service and excellent recommendations. Had a wonderful evening with exceptional weather, good friends, and great atmosphere. Wine and food were were paired well. Overall, a fantastic evening.
Special occasion place for us, but it IS special! Nice menu, not just the boring standard Annapolis fare. Extensive wine list with great staff recommendations. Food quality and service are outstanding. We'll be back!
We decided to try Smashing Grapes for lunch, having not been there before. We were able to be seated outside, which was our preference. We were greeted by the manager and taken to our table. She gave us suggestions for items to consider ordering. Our waitress greeted us with a winning smile and was very friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering the tempura cauliflower with accompanying blue cheese and hot sauce dips. It was fantastic and was enough to share as an appetizer. We also tried their Sangria, one white and one Red. The were pleasantly not too sweet. One of us had the Cali Cobb salad and the the other had the short rib Reuben sandwich. Both meals were good and we both had food to take home because the portions were generous.
We both enjoyed the environment, staff, meal and drinks, but felt the prices were higher than we would want to spend on a regular basis. Will definitely return, but for special occasions.
There is no wi-fi and NO cellular service in the building so my date and I could not text, call or find each other. He was outside and I was inside but we could not communicate with each other or the outside world. I could not even turn my phone on or off to reset it. I understand they may not want to offer wifi but you have to have cellular signal or get that fixed whatever is blocking it. It isnt safe or desirable for business people. The wait staff was very nice but it was frustrating. The wine is very over-priced and the restaurant is too hot and humid. I sat inside to be cool and comfy but it was cooler outside.
Quiet Sunday brunch. Food was only OK for the price charged. Server was over attentive bordering on annoying.
The portion was small considering how much the cost was per plate.
We were the first ones getting there. The service was extremely slow. And my daughter got sick from the food . Not a good experience.
Very warm and inviting place on pricey side but coming from Ohio small town hard to compare
Wine list is extensive but “ cheapest bottle is 40&
Most range in 46 to 60$ range with a bunch higher
I guess typical for area
The crab bisque was excellent one of best we’ve ever had.
Had rockfish was good salad was enough for 4
The cheesecake brûlée was delicious!
Would go again if in area
The food and service were great. We were welcomed with friendly greetings at the front desk, which set the tone for the evening. Loved the brick chicken and rock fish. Great meal all around!
We really enjoyed the restaurant week menu. My friend and I both had the swordfish which neither of us have had before. It was very flavorful. I thought it was odd we had to ask our server for the restaurant week menu and it wasn’t being promoted. The service was on the slower side but we were not in a rush by any means so that wasn’t a problem. Really beautiful place, can be fancy or casual. Bathrooms were clean!!! (Big deal for me lol). I did not care for the dessert profiteroles. Will definitely be back!
Our server CJ was an absolute gem and was so friendly, helpful, funny and sweet. He really made our experience. On top of that the food was also amazing.
Second time going to Smashing Grapes and this time the weather was nice enough to sit outside! Amazing food and experience (my gf loves their lavender alcoholic beverage), will definitely be returning.
Our experience overall was 100/10. Our server Dani/Danielle was amazing. She gave us amazing suggestions but also honest feedback. She was quick& attentive. We even had a few unusual requests and she made them happen no problem. Even management stopped by our table to check on us. We loved it, we will definitely be back!
Date Night with my wife and we decided to return to this location because of the great experience we had a few weeks ago. Service was outstanding (Danielle I believe) and fast. The food was spectacular, will definitely be coming back!
The Buffalo cauliflower appetizer was the best we have ever had but only giving 4 stars because of the tomatoes placed on my fig flatbed pizza. The tomato was mealy and white you could tell by looking at it it was going to have no flavor and the texture was off. Great service and ambiance.
Excellent spot with a diverse and tasty menu. No food photos but the Miso Honey Sea Bass and Lobster Risotto were a hit at our table.
The food here is good but I think a little over priced for the quality. If you're going for happy hour or cocktails, I think this is your spot. Great atmoshpere, decor and service.
Waitress was nice (Emma) but very slow at the beginning. Felt like she forgot about us. We ordered the largest charcuterie board which we have ordered before. It seemed like less meat & cheese were on it. I was very disappointed in the lobster roll. This is probably the 10th time I have eaten here and by far the worst meal. It bothers me to say that because I live the atmosphere of this place. Lobster roll needs to be taken off the menu.
Service and dining experience was great! Food tasted amazing. Will definitely return.
Reservations were ready when we walked-in. No service problems. Large selections for lunch with very different types than standard fare. Food was very tasty. Will return
Me and my family had a wonderful evening there. There were two staffs served us, they were very patient, attentive, and polite. I wish I asked the names! I will visit there again soon.
Wait staff - wearing jeans is confusing- nice place? Casual? They were Very attentive! Prices are WAY too high for serving size- food was good but nothing to rush back for
Fantastic food. Our kids all split their French toast! The adults had crab Benedict, 2 amazing omelettes, and a Cobb salad.
We also had a bottle of champagne for mimosas!
A surprisingly great brunch. Unexpected from a wine bar. Kitchen was a little slow delivering meals, but worth the wait.
Excellent food with a variety of options on the menu.
Wonderful food and atmosphere, would absolutely come back!
Loved Smashing Grapes! Great food. Great service. Great wine! What’s not to love! Wonderful charcuterie board and yummy entrees.
Enjoyed this recently open location for Smashing Grapes. Would love to see more seafood options and some additonal cheesecakes on the dessert menu. Otherwise it was excellent.
Our waitress, Madison was rude, she become irritated whenever she was asked a question.
This place was great through and through. The food, the environment and the service!
We started off with a white sangria which was really good, sweet but not too sweet. Then we had Buffalo cauliflower and a Caesar salad. The Buffalo cauliflower was fried to perfection and was very flavorful. I also enjoyed the salad. For entrees, I had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. The only thing I wished was better was the seasoning/flavor of the potatoes and spinach that came with it. That was rather bland. We ended with dessert, the cheesecake and that was so creamy and decadent!
Our waiter CJ was super friendly and accommodating. If you go, ask for him! Overall, I’d definitely go back.
Great Food and Service. Several large and very loud group tables. Made it difficult to have a conversation even in a booth. Second time this has happened.
The food was good, but not outstanding considering the prices. Service was uneven in a nearly empty restaurant at 430pm.
Lunch was yummy
This was an enjoyable early evening. The food and drinks were spot on! We had cocktails, though the wine offerings were tempting. Definitely a place for locals and visitors to the community. Smashing Grapes has much to offer.
Great cauli appetizer, as well as lamb meatballs. Soup is just ok. Desserts - yum. Ambience is great.
The food was good but our experience was seriously marred by the server overcharging us, then when"fixing" the bill, I unded up charged an extra 200.00. Nowhere on my bank statement is the amount I thought I was actually paying. We are still waiting on a phone call to resolve this.
This is unfortunate. We had raved about how good SG was and brought 2 other couples. All three of our cards were overcharged. I am looking forward to an explanation about this.
Couples Date night, we were happy with the drink choices and apps. Main course wasn’t the best and we were a little surprised they were out of the filet…….
Food was good, but the lamb meatball appetizer, which was very delicious, overpowered the flavors of all of the rest of the meal.
Appitizer and meal were great. Dessert was not. Service started strong but fell off. Ordered a bottle of wine that I ended up pouring myself. Asked for water multiple times. Ordered a cappuccino with dessert. You could tell it was sitting as the foam was gone. May be awhile if I go back.
