Absolutely delicious food, served in a perfect presentation! Our server was outstanding! Best we’ve experienced in a long time. She was caring and very attentive, returning to our table many times to check on us. That was a real pleasure. We appreciate the generous 25% off coupon for Season Ticket holders to the Muskegon Civic Theatre. That’s what brought us in; and now we are hooked! We’ll be back! A very pleasant and enjoyable dining experience! We highly recommend SMASH to all our friends!
The prime rib dinner which was $30 was not as good as I expected. It was barely warm and was not very tender. I should have sent it back but didn’t. The potatoes with cauliflower was delicious as well as the spinach artichoke spread.
The food was great. It was pretty busy as they had the Pub Crawl going on and the chef went home sick but the waitress did a great job keeping up. I would definitely return.
Only problem was that our reservation made through the website wasn’t on the list. We’re not sure why that was the case. They sat us anyway and we had a good time!
Everything was very good!
Both our meals were attractively served and tasted delicious. Our waitress was friendly and efficient even though she was busy. However, there was a problem concerning our appetizer. The online menu, identical to the one in the restaurant, stated that appetizers were $3 off between 4 & 6 pm. When our bill did not show that discount, the waitress said it only applied to flatbreads. After we pointed out the clearly stated offer on the menu, and the clearly outlined appetizer section, she spoke to her manager, returning to say that it only was in effect until 6 pm. When we showed her our receipt reflecting that we had ordered at 5:45, she again spoke to the manager. She returned with a corrected receipt giving the $3. This soured our experience. We will return to Smash, as the food was great. I do hope all staff will be on board with the idea that discounts are to bring customers, not discourage them. Muskegon needs positivity.
A nice wine bar with adequate food choices.
Mushroom alfredo was excellent. Shrimp linguine poor.
Terrific crab cakes and pesto chicken flat bread. Good friendly service. Good value, nice venue
Just an ordinary Bar that served food. Very bright lights. No very romantic as advertised.
They didn't have our reservation!
The whitefish dip appetizer was excellent. The location is perfect when you are attending an event upstairs at the Beardsley.
ATMOSPHERE: vibrant, exciting...a bit loud. FOOD: good, nice portions, a bit bland, marsala...chicken not incorporated into pasta. SERVICE: tentative, server pleasant but not sharp, meal took 30 mins to be served even with few patrons present. PRICE/VALUE: reasonable...appreciated 1/2-off coupon.
This was the most awful dining experience I have had. We had some friends visiting us from Chicago and thought that this would be a great place to take them for dinner. The service was atrocious, it was quite evident that they were understaffed. The food was absolutely terrible, other than the appetizers (which was good). The noise level was absolutely horrendous, there was some chick singing and we could hardly hear ourselves speak. I will not be back. Worst possible dining experience imaginable! Don’t go!!
They did not have our reservation, had to sit at the bar
My family reserved a table before show for drinks and appetisers. We sat there for 1 hour and our appetisers never came!!!! I am still shocked! It took a good while for the cocktails to show up, but it was busy, we undertood and were patient, but the fact that the food never got served to us it totally unnacceptable. We didn't complain, the waitress never even made an effort for an explanation. We sat there for exactly 1 hour and found a waitress ourselves and asked for a bill since we were not being served at all. The waitress mumbled "sorry", took our money and we left in disbelief that this seriously just happened!!!! Advise: don't go there!!!!
We very much enjoyed our visit to smash. The server we had was excellent, she met our every need. The food was very good we enjoyed our meal. It was a bit noisy When I go back there I will ask to be seated away from the bar.
Good, but limited, menu selection. Prompt attention by wait staff. A bit pricy, but worth it. The biggest slice of carrot cake I’ve ever had! And it was delicious!
The food was just ok, but small for the price
The location is great for the theater. It has a pleasant ambiance. Service was satisfactory. The food was poor. My fish was barely warm and bland and my friend's meal was sparse. It's OK for a cocktail before the theater but I would not recommend it for a meal. If they focus on appetizers and cocktails/wine, it might be a better place to go.
The food and service were outstanding. We will be back!
We had a great time! Thank you
Food was really good
Presentation excellent
Wine was special
Noise level could be improved. We waited a long time for our meal. Thankfully we were not in a hurry. Our waitress was very nice.
