I kind of felt rushed by the young lady that was serving us but overall it was fantastic. We went for the mother’s day brunch which was lovely. The only problem I had was the quality of some food options. At almost $80 per person I would’ve thought it might have been top notch but nope just average. My mom, aunts, and nana had a great time so that’s all that matters!

The food was okay, one dish (chicken) was raw, our waitress was extremely rude and argued that it wasn’t raw, took it back to the kitchen and informed us that once she got back to the kitchen- there was no chicken on the plate……but she’d bring out more chicken anyway. Service was terrible, we were there for an hour and a half and never once got drinks refilled, even though we requested refills. Mediocre hotel restaurant at best, we were there for our son’s graduation from VCU- definitely wouldn’t recommend this place!!

We love small batch, it’s one or favorite places for dinner. I had the gnocchi and it was fantastic, flavors were wonderful, highly recommend. It can be a smidge pricey depending on what you order but overall everything is excellent.

Fresh, flavorful food. Comfortable seating and ambiance. Very convenient as the nicest restaurant in the area without having to drive further from the hotel. With that convenience comes a price - very expensive as compared to comparable restaurants requiring a 15-20 minute drive away.

Service was painfully slow - the hostess seating us took our drink orders (coffee and iced tea - not particularly difficult), and nothing arrived for about 30 minutes. No waitress arrived either - we had to flag down a waitress working the other side of the restaurant to get service. We saw our assigned waitress once during the 60+ minutes we were there; I assume she went back to sleep in the back room. The other poor waitress had to basically cover the entire restaurant. She was great.

The service was great! The prices was reasonable and the manager was very professional. He went to every table to make sure our meal was good and we were satisfied with his restaurant and my wife and I definitely was VERY IMPRESSED! Best Valentines Day EVER!!!

Bartender/waiter were excellent. Very attentive and professional. He even made a special fruity drink for one of us that wanted a sangria which was no longer on the menu. Went out of his way. Our group was very happy with the food and service. Will definetly be going back there again.

We made a Thanksgiving breakfast reservation on-line with Open Table. On our arrival, we were advised that they were not serving breakfast, and offered us a $60 per person buffet instead. We declined.

We had a great dinner at Small Batch Local Kitchen. The steaks here are 10/10, also nice wine list. Our waiter was wonderful, very knowledgeable and into food, great service! The ambiance is a little too much canteen style and could easily improved just by lowering the lights alone.

I don't usually pick restaurants that are part of a hotel, but with a group of people from different parts of town, this fit the bill. Also, it was listed as sourcing local food when possible, always a good sign in my book. We had a group of eight, and it would be nice to have a round table, however, that wasn't to be. Everyone enjoyed their food - I had my heart set on smoked salmon and was a little disappointed when I was told it wasn't available. If anyone is looking for a Thanksgiving meal - there is one here!

We made a reservation for brunch on Father’s Day 2022. When we arrived at the restaurant, we waited several minutes for someone to seat us in the empty restaurant. Once seated, we waited again for our order to be taken. No one showed, we left. I realize that staffing is an issue these days but there was literally no other diners in the establishment.

We took my mother and mother-in-law for Mother’s Day lunch. The restaurants website did not publish a menu for the event - thus I did not know it would be a buffet, which I would have avoided - and shame on me for not calling and asking. The buffet had little variety, and consisted almost entirely of basic. Real fast items, with an omelet station. They did offer a stuffed pork loin dish that was very dry, with no sauce or gravy to help, and a salmon option. The server was polite, but very inattentive. She was very kind when we asked her to take a family picture for us. The low review is mostly based on the lack of value for the cost. $40 per head is a lot for basic breakfast buffet food and dried out pork.

Very disappointing fine dining experience. Reservation was easy to make. We were seated immediately. Server was courteous. Plate looked amazing however sawing a steak using muscles I hadn't used in years was ridiculous. Vegetables was non edible as well. Dessert was not was was listed on the menu and was the best part of the meal. Noise from the bar was so loud I couldn't hear the person talking to me the entire time. I should have come by the bar for a drink and then went to dinner somewhere else. Meal was 130+ for bad food and a terrible experience. Breakfast was not much better for 45.00 and for the love of Jesus learn how to prepare a potatoe for at least one meal. Other tables eat half their entrée and left the rest so our table was not alone.

We went for Valentine’s Day and had their pre fixe menu. I enjoyed a Caesar salad and the stuffed chicken. My boyfriend had the veggies and lamb chops. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. I especially loved the potatoes. Our server was very attentive. I would absolutely recommend!

The food was great as was the service. This is our second time and I had crab cakes this time. The crab cakes were huge, full of crabmeat and delicious. The waiter was very friendly and personable, he waited on us last time and I was very pleased when I saw him again.

The food was excellent. My boyfriend is vegan and had several options, I had the salmon cooked medium and it was nicely caramelized on the outside and moist on the inside. This is one of the few restaurants we’ve been to that source locally and offer organic when available.

Had Thanksgiving dinner here. I thought it was more farm-to-table and less hospital cafeteria food. I was wrong. The food was bland, boring, and definitely not worth the time or money spent. Even the plating was disappointing. The food was just slopped onto the plate. The service was very slow despite a prix fixe menu and many empty tables. They waitstaff was overwhelmed so we were waited on by the overwhelmed bartender. We were sat in the back and the bar is at the front. He couldn't see us nor us him. We ordered a bottle of wine and got two glasses. He did his best but it wasn't his role. We definitely won't be back.

We were glad to find a restaurant open for Thanksgiving dinner while we were out of town. While adequate, the food and service were just OK. I am sure that the regular menu is better.

I don’t think Thanksgiving is the time to go to this place. They had a special menu which seemed to have been prepared mostly in advance and barely warmed up to serve. The Brie en Croute wasn’t warm at all, just cold Brie in cooked puff pastry. They redid that item and it was better. The prime rib was an enormous piece that covered the entire plate (on top of all the sides). Kudos for portion and quality but it was a 3” thick slice. I’ve never seen prime rib that wasn’t sliced thinly before serving. It was hard to cut and eat, especially with all the fat. It would have been lovely sliced though. And it was hard to get to the sides underneath. The stuffing and mashed potatoes were very good and worth the hassle. For dessert, the peanut butter pie was great, creamy and rich, and the bread pudding was awful, flavorless, dried bread with no richness or moistness. We looked at the regular menu on the way out and it looked good. We’d heard great things about this place so it was disappointing.

We understand that wait staff is really stretched so understand that service was not great. More frustrating was the fact that they have a very limited menu to begin with and then were out of several of the few offerings. Sorry, no crab cakes. Sorry, no shrimp. Would not recommend. But the bartender made a very nice martini!

The Misfits visited Crossings Restaurant, bar and lounge on 4/6. The biggest surprise we encountered was the restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening. We were promptly seated, the restaurant was immaculately clean, the tables were dressed in more of a formal fashion. The food was great, our waiter was the perfect blend of attentive and out of the way. The Crossing is one of those the best-kept secrets. For the book club it was great we could hear each other talk. We will be going back in August.
