Pricey and service was slow , better for a appetizer drink place
I really wanted to love this place - its cute and fun but we literally were so close to the high top next to us, the lady joked she could put her arm around me and it was like sitting at a table with people we didn't know. Our server was MIA for awhile but honestly he was running what looked like maybe upstairs and he went outside a few times. Food was limited and ok - should have just gone with all apps instead
server was great, love the format...was totally unimpressed with the lobster stuffed short rib...it was a $45.00 large plate entre...the serving size was very small, it came with a pasta, the short rib was shredded and dry, it was fashioned into a flat oval and there was a couple of small pieces of lobster...would have been a half decent meal for half the price...even at that I would never reorder...I love short ribs, order them all the time...these were the worst I have ever experienced.
Food was surprisingly delicious! Would definitely make it a regular spot.
They were out of a featured menu item … at 5:30 PM. I ordered a Tito’s and tonic, and they brought a Tito’s and club. When I said something about it, I was told, “that’s what our tonic is like here.” Huh? The food was fine, but it’s pricey. Sixteen dollars for a glass of Pinot! Where are we? Nothing special here, but prices like it is. Pass.
Nice downtown West Chester atmosphere. Pumpkin soup and deviled egg w/shrimp appetizers were very good. Lamb ribs were tasty with a nice coleslaw, but predominantly fatty with very little meat. Limited menu.
They had a small live band during dinner. Extremely loud and could not have a conversation with the people at our table. Very disappointing
Music was fantastic!
Had a great time, and a great dinner. Service was friendly and prompt. The band was a bit loud, but it was our fault for reserving late. The band was awesome too!
Food was so so. None of the COVID rules listed were followed.
We stuck to the appetizer menu since brunch menu seemed more like lunch or dinner. The Fried green tomatoes were awesome. The mini burgers were tough and burned. The potato balls were too doughy .
I’d definitely go back for an evening nightcap. Seemed like a great night spot with a nice cocktail menu. Not really a Sunday brunch destination.
We essentially sat at a 2 top separated by a small pipe and a table of 4. So we were having dinner with the table next to us… the service was just okay, and I would think with their prices of everything it would be better. They are trying to make a small space work but we ended up being too close to the bar and extremely close to the other table next to us.
We haven’t been back to slow hands in forever due to the pandemic so we chose to dine out on our 1 year wedding anniversary at slow hands. The fall menu is amazing!!!! The service was great as well!
I went for brunch. It was very close quarters and the food was sub par. Everything was extremely breaded and fried lacking in flavor. But the server was beyond sweet and the Bloody Mary was good.
Interesting menu I have small and large plates. Very nice service - didn’t rush us as we were there to catch up.
For those looking for good food and a nice atmosphere, avoid this restaurant. The appetizers were OK, the main course for brunch was cold and not very good. Definitely would not return and Wayover priced for what they served. Service was not good, had to continue to ask for things and watch staff huddle around the bar and chat.
While the service was very courteous, it was slow and very inexperienced. Because it was very cold inside, the front door was open on a cold morning, we ordered coffee and were told that they had to make it. How can you start a brunch service at 11 a.m. and not have coffee made and ready for your first guests. There was no salt and pepper on the table. They had no artificial sweetener, only sugar cubes. We also had to ask for a spoon to stir the coffee. The little things folks! They mean a lot.
Our first visit to Slow Hand and the experience was wonderful. The staff was great, the food was good and the music was so good. Slow Hand knows that having great music makes the experience of going out so much better. Best way I could have spent a school night.
Food was excellent, and fresh as advertised. service was strained because of experience level of staff. Great attitude amongst an overwhelmed group of servers, live music was excellent. This place has a nice vibe and may really hit its stride in the future.
We had such a lovely time. We sat outside on a Sunday evening. The restaurant wasn't very busy and the waitstaff could not have been friendlier. I really like restaurants that have an innovative approach to food; everything was good and felt original. I have been looking for my go-to elevated food place in West Chester and this may well be it.
The food and the cocktails were really delicious (probably the best drinks and food I have had in WC!) and served by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Their menu was small, but seasonal so I will definitely be going back again to see what they offer in the next season!
Really great food, excellent wait staff, excellent cocktails. We love this place.
Service was great. Server took great care of us. The restaurant was fairly empty, with a few tables out side occupied and a few folks at the bar. We ordered several items off the appetizer list. The were fine. None of the items seemed to be prepared with any care. And all were ok, nothing I would go back for. As we were finishing our meal someone from the restaurant decided that was the right time to start scraping something off the sidewalk next to our table, which was loud and annoying. Inside seemed nice and a good spot outside for people watching. Maybe we caught the kitchen on a bad night.
Awesome food. Awesome drinks. I like how you can reserve outside or inside. Ambience was excellent
Not our first time. Great place to eat
Emmy was our waitress and was PHENOMENAL! Great suggestions and attention to detail was perfect! Food was excellent and the Mussels were about as good as any I have ever had.
Loved the vibe at this repurposed firehouse. The menu was not extensive but there was a nice variety. Food was good and service was pleasant and efficient. Loved my cocktail! Fun spot to go and meet up with friends.
Food was very good. We ate outside at one of the sidewalk tables, so can't comment on interior ambiance.
Great food, amazing live entertainment and fantastic server!! Highly recommend this place!!
The service was outstanding! And the food exceeded my expectations.
Grace our server was fabulous. The location, live music, and good food made for a good night out with friends. Thank you.
Bad service. Over an hour to get our food. Place was empty. Waitress was not very friendly.
The food was very good. I had the chicken and my friend had the scallops. Both equally good. The fried green tomato app was also delicious. I was a bit taken back that when we ordered coffee they only had sugar and no sugar substitute. It would be nice if they offered Stevia.
Loved the casual, fun ambiance, inventive seasonal cocktails as well as the seasonally inspired menu. Definitely would go back!!
It must have been a bad day for the staff and cooks. Waitress was depressed, drinks were lacking, and food was just ok. Not a great visit especially since West Chester has so many good restaurants, I expected better. Just not planning on trying that restaurant again.
Love the ambiance - but disappointed with brunch. Biscuit was DRY and no bacon on my sandwhich.
Service was just ok. Server didn't know what the quiche of the day was, couldn't tell us about the sausage (links?patty? Sage as mentioned in other dishes?) Had to ask for coffee refills and spoons - didn't check on us at all l, but some folx like that.
Cocktail was delicious.
Pleasant outside dining. Nice selection of cocktails and creative food selections
Nice place to meet. Limited menu.
Unfortunately this wasn’t our best experience. The restaurant was quite empty. The service was rather slow. The specialty cocktail I ordered sat too long before being delivered, was warm and had separated by the time it arrived. We ate most of our appetizer and left. We found another restaurant to have dinner.
The location is amazing, the ambiance and look of the restaurant is nice. The food menu seems to be missing the mark. I know Covid was hard for restaurants, but maybe revamping the menu would help.
Not a bad spot at all, but "craft cocktails" is a bit of stretch. Their Old Fashioned was a little under sweetened and the orange twist wasn't expressed over the top (they did serve it with a quality maraschino cherry and a good sized ice cube although not a clear one), their Cosmo was made with Roses Lime Juice instead of a pure or fresh lime juice and that dominated the drink (not enough cranberry or orange favors to balance it out), their Daiquiri however was actually pretty good - came in the proper Nick & Nora glass, was shaken pretty well, balanced well for flavor, and garnished with a lime twist.
They have the potentially to really hit it out of the park on their drinks, and it seems like they try to with their selection of classic and inventive cocktails, it's just that last 5-10% of the details they're missing to carry the drinks across the finish line.
Food wise, the Hush Puppy's were amazing. The Deviled Egg's were very good, the shrimp on top of them was a little small, but the flavors and presentation were great, we'd get both of these dishes again.
Their Nashville Hot Chicken was too hot for my taste, but the breading and juiciness of the chicken was just perfect. I'd order it here again if they could tone down the heat a little.
Their strip steak was well seasoned and plated, the cucumber salad was really nice as well (gives me some ideas to try at home), but the steak came pre-sliced. Not a bad thing but it lets it cool a bit faster if you're having a conversation while eating.
The staff was very nice (missed a couple things like water glasses at first, and a coffee ordered with desert) but they were very polite, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Managing a restaurant in a college town (that's out of session) during COVID must be incredibly challenging, I expect most restaurants are suffering from many of the same issues right now. I'm curious to see where they go from here, they have a lot to offer.
