Not a bad spot at all, but "craft cocktails" is a bit of stretch. Their Old Fashioned was a little under sweetened and the orange twist wasn't expressed over the top (they did serve it with a quality maraschino cherry and a good sized ice cube although not a clear one), their Cosmo was made with Roses Lime Juice instead of a pure or fresh lime juice and that dominated the drink (not enough cranberry or orange favors to balance it out), their Daiquiri however was actually pretty good - came in the proper Nick & Nora glass, was shaken pretty well, balanced well for flavor, and garnished with a lime twist.
They have the potentially to really hit it out of the park on their drinks, and it seems like they try to with their selection of classic and inventive cocktails, it's just that last 5-10% of the details they're missing to carry the drinks across the finish line.
Food wise, the Hush Puppy's were amazing. The Deviled Egg's were very good, the shrimp on top of them was a little small, but the flavors and presentation were great, we'd get both of these dishes again.
Their Nashville Hot Chicken was too hot for my taste, but the breading and juiciness of the chicken was just perfect. I'd order it here again if they could tone down the heat a little.
Their strip steak was well seasoned and plated, the cucumber salad was really nice as well (gives me some ideas to try at home), but the steak came pre-sliced. Not a bad thing but it lets it cool a bit faster if you're having a conversation while eating.
The staff was very nice (missed a couple things like water glasses at first, and a coffee ordered with desert) but they were very polite, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Managing a restaurant in a college town (that's out of session) during COVID must be incredibly challenging, I expect most restaurants are suffering from many of the same issues right now. I'm curious to see where they go from here, they have a lot to offer.
Brunch menu was amazing. I got the chicken fried chicken; it was delicious and a huge portion. My wife got eggs Benedict and said it was the best she’d ever had. The cocktails, as always, were also excellent.
Awesome from start to finish!
The food quality wasn’t great. It also took forever to receive our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant. Waitress was nice. The menu was limited and overpriced
Our first time eating here. EVERYTHING was delicious. I ordered a Tommy Gun Margarita. Very well made with just the right amount of sweet/sour and heat. For brunch I ordered my favorite Eggs Benedict. Probably the best version I've ever had. Every component of it was perfectly done...crunchy muffin, delicious ham, expertly cooked poached eggs and a dreamy hollandaise to top it all off. Lightly lemony, rich and light at the same time. My husband got the Chicken Fried Chicken and was equally happy with his meal. The space is really cool and the staff is nice and efficient. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
Good food but our entries came out before our drinks.
Dining at Slow Hand was disappointing. Based on the menu that I viewed online, my friends and I were excited to dine at this establishment. When we noticed the summer menu, it was the complete opposite of what was offered online. I ate deviled eggs and a garden salad with one alcoholic beverage and my total bill was $35.00! Not only was the food lackluster, it was so loud from the band at the front of the restaurant and all the patrons collected near our table waiting in line to go to the bathroom. We will not be back!
Delicious food!! Small menu but everything we had was great!!
Portions were small and prices high. More of an emphasis on food that looks artistic rather than quality.
this restaurant is simply not worth the bother. the scrapple was the best thing we had. it was an open faced sandwich with a kumquat marmalade, i believe. it was serviceable but not extraordinary. the scallops were lackluster and rather dull the beast part was the pork rind garnish. the pork belly, oh boy, truth be told it should be a simple dish that is well cooked. but the chef complicated it by stuffing it with over spiced sausage. why? and it was accompanied by black eyed peas served cold and dressed. add broccoli rabe, tarragon, and sun dried tomato purée (again why??!). literally everything but the kitchen sink. it was fussy and the flavors weren’t complimentary. too much. pump the breaks. everything is over accessorized. not what one expects from a farm to table restaurant. in fact quite the opposite.
Service, all around, was slow but I guess that’s implied in the name. But when you have a hungry 7-year old, waiting an hour to eat was problematic.
My French toast were excellent…Irish coffee waaaay too strong. Also ordered the breakfast sandwich which the kid devoured and husband and teen got the standard, both enjoyed but said it was not remarkable. Crowd was light for Father’s Day so not sure why the long wait but the waitress was friendly.
Really poor service, long wait for drinks and food, food under-seasoned and bland.
Just an okay experience. Server was attentive. The food was absolutely wonderful! We had a vegan in our party, and unfortunately, there were no options for her except the farm salad.
That said, the bar was slow; the wine I ordered when my dinner came didn’t arrive until I had finished eating. Also, a band started at 9:00, and it was so loud that we had to yell to hear one another. Not great considering we were with of town guests and wanted to visit with them.
I’d like to understand what Slow Hand is aiming for with music like that. It’s not a concert venue. Most people are not there to listen to music, they are there for a meal/drink, and to enjoy time with friends. Music is fine, but the volume should have been 50% of what it was. If we had been able to carry on a conversation, we would have stayed for dessert and another drink. As it was, we didn’t take the wine that arrived too late, just got our check and got out of there. I will go back, but not when there is live music.
Food and drinks were amazing! Servers were extremely attentive and the ambiance is great. Will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our first experience at Slow Hand! Our servers were friendly and attentive. Food arrived piping hot and delicious when ready as we had requested for the multiple small plates/apps that we had ordered with drinks. The mussels and clam appetizers were especialy remarkable and arrived with a soup spoon that we took advantage of to get the last drop of broth in both bowls.
Thank you for a great meal!
Not for me, too loud Nothing absorbing the din of voices
Food was tasty, but seemed a little expensive for what it was.
some really nice artisanal dishes. and very interesting cocktails. worth a look and a great location.
The food was excellent! Service was very good. It was a bit noisy because the bar when we first got there was very busy and we were outside and with the door open into the bar and the street noise it made conversation a little difficult until the bar emptied out. Not a big deal.
Our first time here, we were really impressed with the variety of dishes. Everyone in our party tried a different menu item, all were well prepared and enjoyed. Can’t wait to come again!
Came by for Sunday Brunch for a party of 4. We ate inside and the service was excellent without being bothersome. Thank You! The drinks were well made and our food was delicious! We will be back. Thank You!
Very good and unique food and very good service
It was okay the chicken wings were bland the pig and a blanket was okay. High price didn't deliver
Entrees were very good! However, appetizers were over priced and not enough food. We paid $18 for 3 scallops which were just ok. Took forever to get our drinks. $354 later, we left wanting to get a slice of pizza.
Nice place, nice people but expected some healthier options.
The whole experience was great. The food was fresh and , handmade. We had a really nice waiter. The dishes were really well crafted. Each element and sauce worked together. It was a little loud and the cocktail was just okay. I was pleasantly surprised when the bill came; it was lower than expected.
Me a city snob was blown away with this place. We love it :)
Literally why aren’t you already on your way to eat here?
First visit and will go back. Waitstaff (Chrissy?) was a delight. European flair to the menu. Perfect place for a little bite and cocktail.
They have solid food and great cocktails. We'll be going back.
Service was great. Fresh ingredients presented nicely. Nice selection of cocktails. Our table was reDy when we arrived. I wish the menu had more offerings.
Nice place, could use more decor to spruce it up a bit. My food came out on the warmish side, not hot, however it was good and drinks were as well. Would definitely recommend to try.
Nice meal and good food. Drink service was a little slow.
Great cocktails. Limited menu- especially for vegetarians
Never disappointed at Slow Hand! Great food and drinks.
I love the vibe of this place and great cocktails. I would say though that the food is too heavy! They should have a little bit more variety and some healthier options. Those would be reasons we wouldn’t go back often except for drinks. My friends feel the same.
It’s my favorite place in West Chester. Great drinks. Great ambience. I’m going there again tonight.
The menu is inventive and fresh, and there are always some vegan options.
Hand crafted cocktails are delicious.
Service, from everyone in the restaurant, is always attentive without being intrusive.
Fatima, our server, was the Best.
Staff, food, and drinks were all awesome. Waitress helped us decide on some of the small plates that we should try. Everything was great.
Amazing server! Our party doubled in since throughout the night and they accommodated it!
