You walk in and this doesn’t look like a place that will serve great food. But don’t judge this place by its cover. Great wings, nachos, and entrees. What a find!
They were out of many items on the menu. Food + service were not good.
Family dinner… we were recommended the nachos. I have never in my life seen nachos like that. They were ginormous. If you get them, share with 6-10 people. 2 people didn’t make a dent. Ribs and wings were good. Mac n cheese also good. Wasn’t best food I’ve ever had but good for a group
Resort quality food. Filled us up and was convenient to where we are staying but would not go back.
Good with kids.
Great Steaks and creative, delicious side dishes! Going back for sure... thanks
Tried to go early and saw open table but hostess said it was taken. Came back hour later and table was still open. Wanted to combo platter but they ran out of ribs and wings, our two primary reasons to go there. How does that happen at bbq place? One positive the nachos were good and huge so we left after that.
Food was delicious! Server was super nice and attentive. Atmosphere was 'happening' despite covid restrictions. Big TVs to watch NCAA tourny. Only drawback was the plates of food were too big. We could have had a 1/2 nachos for two people, although we finished it the next day. (would be a good option on the menu) We never had BBQ nachos before with pulled pork and bbq sauce, but they were awesome! Hopefully we'll get back to town again, and will certainly visit Slow Groovin if we do...
Good food great value.
Awesome, awesome place. Excellent (and fairly priced) food, good beer selection, is nice and dim, and has plenty of TVs. Plus, arguably the best wings we had ever had. Definitely our favorite spot that we visited in Aspen, we went back again the next night. Alex - the GM - does a fantastic job.
Highly recommend stopping in here.
Everything was on point - including the ribs, which fell off the bone.
The food was average BBQ, enjoyable. The server Billy was very nice and friendly.
Good food, then nachos are good but be warned they are HUGE. Easily a meal for 3-4 people. They are good. the pulled pork sandwich was good and the fries were good.
This is a great restaurant! We do miss the old menu, but hope that maybe post covid, some of our favorites will return. Great staff, great food, great location
If you are going to call yourself an "upscale" restaurant and raise your prices substantially, I would expect an upgrade to the ambiance, glassware, cutlery, etc. This is the same old sports bar with much higher prices. Plastic glassware and nasty old silverware is NOT what I would expect. The food, while good, is overpriced.
Excellent place to eat! Environment, service, and food were all exceptional! We will absolutely go back next time we are here!
Slow Groovin is at the top of the Mall across from the Westin main entrance (had to walk around a bit to find it). Great beer selection and our waiter walked us through the local beers and the difference between each beer. One person in our party has food allergies so the waiter was very helpful and patient running back and forth to the kitchen to make sure the food did not allergens in it. By the way, the chicken breast has mustard seed as one of the ingredients in the brine. Chicken is usually ok but because he checked, we ended up ordering another dinner.
Macaroni and cheese was yummy. Fries are hand cut and generous portions. The pulled pork was delicious. And the double burger was great.
As far as ambiance, the place smells like a bar (stale beer). But it has a nice vibe to it. Holiday lights cover the ceiling.
We were very happy with our visit and will plan to come back.
They ran out of half the menu even though we had an early reservation.
Great!! Enjoyed the food!!
Went there last night, 12/31/2020. The good points. Really good atmosphere. The host was a really nice guy and very accommodating. The service was really good. Our server was good and constantly checked in on us. We were a party of 4.
The onion rings were awesome, the nachos were really good and the fries were to die for.
The negative- our macaroni and cheese were cold. The brussel sprouts were also cold. Had that been the only issue I wouldn't be writing this review.
What was completely unacceptable was we were served pitch black overcooked ribs. They were burnt by anyone's standards. No one ate them, we took a few bites and then basically requested the check. I'm not going to be sending food back to the kitchen, I don't do that. Those burnt black dry ribs should never have left the kitchen.
I waited until today to go online to see if that's how their ribs always look, like maybe it was some sort of black burnt to a crisp style I was not aware of. However, after looking at Google photos of their ribs, that's not what we were served. The pictures online do not match what we were served.
We go to Aspen every year for the last 6 years and we have alternated between two other BBQ restaurants who have amazing BBQ. I was very excited to try this place for the first time. I was very disappointed in this experience and still shocked that we were served burnt solid black ribs that's weren't even edible.
Still left a 20 percent tip since he's not the cook. **Also forgot to mention our server didn't bring those burnt ribs to our table, it was a food runner who dropped it to our table and darted off. DO BETTER
Great place to eat and watch sports
