Slightly North of Broad Ratings and Reviews
We had an excellent time celebrating the last night of our honeymoon here. The service was excellent-- very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious! We got the duck and trigger fish special. The duck was the best my husband has ever had, and the trigger fish was delicious and full of surprises! I definitely have a new appreciation for how good lentils can taste. Overall a fantastic experience-- definitely worth the hype!
Consistently excellent food, in an inviting atmosphere, bring us back again and again. The tuna, rack of lamb and duck dishes are all superb. The noise level even when full, allows for comfortable conversation. Service is just right. Some dishes change with the seasons. Always a pleasure.
We arrived at 5:35 for a 5:45 reservation (party of 5). Went to bar to wait, noticed 2 empty 6-top tables. Were seated at our exact resv time at one of those empty tables. Service was very good. We were not rushed... Appetizers served at 6:30, entrées served at 7:15. All appetizers were absolutely delicious (sweetbreads, venison, soup)! Best Cream Crab soup were ever had! 3 of 5 meals were good but not the best we've ever had (chicken, BBQ tuna, shrimp & grits). 2 were outstanding. (swordfish & tigerfish). Glad we went but for the money, would not rush back to eat here again.
Although we were late being seated, the hostess apologized and provided us with a complimentary appetizer that was delicious and one we might not have ordered. The corner booth was sufficiently quiet for us to hear each other and the service/food were great. The menu was good and the food absolutely delicious. Worth the wait.
Always very happy with the food and the service at Slightly North of Broad. I have a B&B in Mt Pleasant and in addition to my husband and i eating there i do send a lot of costumer. Never had a complaint in the 7 years since we started our business. The food is wonderful and we love coming there. Highly recommend this place to anybody wanting a great meal in a great place downtown.
The ambiance and service were very nice. However, I agreed to split a steak with my dinner partner. The owners of this restaurant own another highly rated steak house. One would expect that they know what a good prime ribeye is. Apparently the chef at SNOB does not. The steak was very grisly and fatty with very little edible meat. The other dishes we tried were very, very good, but the main course was a total disappointment!
SNOB is our go-to restaurant that never disappoints ! The food is consistently great,
the service spot on and the ambiance perfect.
The manager, Peter Pierce, keeps the place running smoothly by helping his staff
(that all love him) and by treating customers like family.
We celebrated our mutual birthdays and SNOB was an excellent choice. Service was cordial, attentive and the staff was well coordinated. We enjoyed our meals, both made seafood selections. Although one desert was ordered, we received our own deserts each with a candle. Nice touch. Thankfully there was no singing. We recommend arriving early, beat the crowd.
SNOB is always a treat! We brought a group of friends who had never dined at the restaurant before. Everyone's lunches were outstanding. We were raving about the food and ambiance for days. Soups, salads, fish, burgers... even the specialty sangria were all delicious and memorable. I highly recommend this historic, lively and delicious restaurant.
We choseSNOB for its Low Country cuisine, and it proved to be worthy. My shrimp and grits was a definitive version, laden with ham, sausage, shrimp and heavenly, creamy grits. My wife’s lunch was pleasant, though less native: butternut squash bisque and a tomato cheese baguette.
Our food was excellent! One of the better meals I've eaten in my life. SNOB was nicer than I had excepted. I thought it was going to be an upscale tourist casual place, but I'd say it's just a step down from the fine dining establishments in town like Hall's or Charleston Grill. We dressed up and I'm glad we did because I would've felt out of place in more casual clothes. Our service was good, not great. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, but somewhat non attentive at times. Nothing that would dissuade me from going back again, however. I'd certainly recommend this place for a nice dinner on the town.
Great food, nice knowledge base in server regarding food; could have been a bit more attentive to table - drinks, etc. meal was well timed/spaced between courses. We are picky and hard to please... this place was solid and worth going to again. Not hype. Really a good meal.
My first time visiting for an evening meal. My two guests in tow from England enjoyed experiencing Southern specialties as I knew they would. The food was outstanding and the whole evening was a delight. As a frequent visiter to the area, I highly recommend S.N.O.B. for a fine evening out when wanting to experience some of best tastes and atmosphere that the low country has to offer.
After not being able to secure reservations at another popular Charleston restaurant we decided to try SNOB and we were so glad we did! I enjoyed everything about my dinner there. Our server Kienyn was great and his recommendation for the ordering the Triggerfisf was spot on! My husband ordered the rack of Lamb which was cooked perfectly. It was our anniversary and appreciate the surprise sparking wine given to us. The atmosphere is casual elagance and you are able to have conversation since the noise level is moderate. We look forward to returning there on our next trip to Charleston
