About
There is nothing about Slightly North of Broad that we did not like. This was our second visit to S.N.O.B. And the food and service have been excellent both times. My husband had the duck and I had the Filet. We also had the collards and the Brussel sprouts which you must try. Desert of chocolate bread pudding with ice cream and the creme brûlée. Yay. I will always have dinner here when I am in town.
Best restaurant in Charleston! Great service and food!
Service, food, drinks, staff knowledge, ambiance are all 100% spot on. We eat here often and are never disappointed.
Excellent food and great service at a reasonable price. Enjoyed lunch there and will return
It was an extraordinary eating event here. Five of us, two who are native Charlestonians, enjoyed the ambiance and the food. I chose shrimp and grits, and was treated to an enormous portion that was absolutely delicious!
From the cocktails through the dinner, the food was excellent, and the service was exemplary. My husband had the pork chop, and said it was the best he as ever had, or ever will have!
Put it on your Charleston Bucket List and check it off as soon as possible. The BBQ Tuna is my favorite dish of all time...and it's not even close.
Great atmosphere and good food! Service was spectacular!
Loved it as always wonderful service by the best server but not a big fan of the small table sitting right by restrooms would've like a little more privacy felt like we were in walkway
This is a don't- miss restaurant. Ask for Marsha if you want a guaranteed stellar time- then, let her order for you!
Great menu and atmosphere. Have to make a reservation way in advance.....
Great staff and wonderful food with a fantastic atmosphere
Very good food in a warm fun atmosphere. We had to leave several other restaurants in Charleston because the buildings smelled moldy and caused one of our party breathing problems. SNOB was one of the few places where the air smelled clean and the building seemed free of mold.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Good vibe.
Great menu & service. My only complaint would be the fact our table was too close to the only bathroom so we could see everyone that came in and out. Tried to ignore and just concentrated on the excellent locally sourced food.
Try to score the back counter seats at lunch so that you can watch the hubbub of the kitchen. Food is a good iteration of Charleston's bounties.
Consistently incredible meal featuring fresh and local ingredients!s
Best shrimp and grits. If you can get the seasonal grilled peach salad when it is available, don't miss it! Our favorite restaurant.
One of the best spots Charleston has to offer - live this place. Recommend for a romantic night or an event to celebrate. Once eat at SNOB every time we are in Charleston. Never had a bad experience
First time visiting. It was wonderful! Waiter was awesome! Food perfect. Squash soup great!
Food was delicious, and Jeremy took great care of us. We will return the next time we visit Charleston.
Everything was good with the exception of my dad’s shrimp and grits. He told us later that there were no grits with the shrimp.
The owner Billy Hall greets everyone coming in and out of the front door. He also takes an interest in making sure your evening is memorable.
Didn't have reservations but decided to take a chance for a communal or high top table for 4 of us in CHS for a girl's weekend from JAX. It took some time but eventually had 4 seats on the end of the communal table.
Overall everything we ordered was delicious but what stood out was the 16oz Rib-Eye and a must is the creamed corn skillet
Picking your seat will depend on the desired atmosphere: Downstairs is two bar areas; one has music and tends to be more energetic, the other is still a bar setting without music but a great place to dine, drink and watch whatever sport is showing on the Tube. Upstairs is an array of dinning rooms, a quieter setting.
The other three in the party were hesitant since we didn't have reservations but ended up saying this was the best place we dinned in CHS.
FYI: Tables can be reserved in either bar area too, if not certain seating in the bars is first come first serve.
Definitely will drive up from JAX to dine at Hall's again.
Everyone in our group enjoyed the food. I personally thought the BBQ Tuna was fantastic. They had a tamale appetizer special that was excellent as well.
Cons were that it was a little slow. Also our server kept trying to push and sell specials, apps, deserts, and more drinks on us to the point it became slightly irritating. “We’re good!”
Great food. We eat here every trip to Charleston
SNOB never disappoints. Excellent food that is as creative as it is delicious. Service is consistently above average to create a fun night out or a perfect date night.
Everything was great.
Always love the shrimp and grits....good this time but not perfection like we have experienced in past. Scallops we're amazing!
We had an excellent meal, as always, at Slightly North. Paul did a great job serving us and they had a rare Kistler wine which we enjoyed immensely.
A+
A classic Charleston destination and for good reason.
A member of our group has a severe dairy allergy and our server and the kitchen were amazing. Once it was mentioned to our server we never had to ask if anything was dairy free or safe when it arrived to the table. Kelsea coordinates with the kitchen and told us what changes edits were made. It was wonderful!!!
And, everything was delicious. We also appreciated that the we’re participating in “No Straw Summer”!
The menu was outstanding -- really delicious food. Ambiance is cool, but noise ia a little loud. Our server couldn't have been more solicitous.
We arrived early for our reservation and were seated right away. Immediately, hot cornbread was brought out. It seemed to take a while for our server to come by. Compared to the male server taking care of other diners, our server was just average. The shrimp and grits is superb. My husband ordered the fresh sword fish special. It was great, too.
The cold refreshing gazpacho was the best I’ve ever had.
Always a favorite. never disappoints. All family members recommend it over and over, and although price point puts it at "special occasion" really, service and food make it well worth it.
SNOB does not disappoint. We go there for lunch whenever we are in the Charleston area.
We eat here every time we are in Charleston. Love it
Phenomenal! A true Charlston experience.
Dessert was pound cake with lemon curd and blueberry sauce. Delicious. Flounder is on menu online but no flounder. Instead Halibut. Very good. Scallops very good. We were there on Saturday night, June 23. It was busy. Nice place. I would go again.
Lovely service and delicious food...so much fun!!!
Best Shrimp and Grits I’ve ever had!
