About

Slightly North of Broad is a Lowcountry bistro that brings together an abundance of local ingredients and thoughtful, expert presentation with a friendly, contagious energy. Here the dining room is a natural extension of the kitchen, a place where culinary skill, a clever, considered wine program, warm service, and conversations meld together. Our local farmers, fishermen and producers are as integral to the food we make as they are to our place in this community.

One of the best spots Charleston has to offer - live this place. Recommend for a romantic night or an event to celebrate. Once eat at SNOB every time we are in Charleston. Never had a bad experience

Everything was good with the exception of my dad’s shrimp and grits. He told us later that there were no grits with the shrimp.

The owner Billy Hall greets everyone coming in and out of the front door. He also takes an interest in making sure your evening is memorable.
Didn't have reservations but decided to take a chance for a communal or high top table for 4 of us in CHS for a girl's weekend from JAX. It took some time but eventually had 4 seats on the end of the communal table.
Overall everything we ordered was delicious but what stood out was the 16oz Rib-Eye and a must is the creamed corn skillet
Picking your seat will depend on the desired atmosphere: Downstairs is two bar areas; one has music and tends to be more energetic, the other is still a bar setting without music but a great place to dine, drink and watch whatever sport is showing on the Tube. Upstairs is an array of dinning rooms, a quieter setting.
The other three in the party were hesitant since we didn't have reservations but ended up saying this was the best place we dinned in CHS.
FYI: Tables can be reserved in either bar area too, if not certain seating in the bars is first come first serve.
Definitely will drive up from JAX to dine at Hall's again.

Everyone in our group enjoyed the food. I personally thought the BBQ Tuna was fantastic. They had a tamale appetizer special that was excellent as well.

Cons were that it was a little slow. Also our server kept trying to push and sell specials, apps, deserts, and more drinks on us to the point it became slightly irritating. “We’re good!”

A member of our group has a severe dairy allergy and our server and the kitchen were amazing. Once it was mentioned to our server we never had to ask if anything was dairy free or safe when it arrived to the table. Kelsea coordinates with the kitchen and told us what changes edits were made. It was wonderful!!!

And, everything was delicious. We also appreciated that the we’re participating in “No Straw Summer”!

We arrived early for our reservation and were seated right away. Immediately, hot cornbread was brought out. It seemed to take a while for our server to come by. Compared to the male server taking care of other diners, our server was just average. The shrimp and grits is superb. My husband ordered the fresh sword fish special. It was great, too.
The cold refreshing gazpacho was the best I’ve ever had.

Dessert was pound cake with lemon curd and blueberry sauce. Delicious. Flounder is on menu online but no flounder. Instead Halibut. Very good. Scallops very good. We were there on Saturday night, June 23. It was busy. Nice place. I would go again.

My wife and I try to get to Charleston twice a year. We rotate our favorite restaurants each trip. We are both fans of SNOB. The menu changes and there are often tasty specials. This trip, we both ordered off the menu. We started with salads; the Baby Lettuce for my wife and the Beet Pistachio for me. Both were excellent and I found myself scooping up the last bits with my bread. Very nice start. My wife had the Grilled Scallops and I had the BBQ Tuna. This is an interesting twist, but was really delicious. We shared and determined both were excellent! We were too full for desert, so no reading other than I saw several selections go past our table and I am convinced they too were outstanding. I recommend, and we will be back. Service was first class too.

We eat at S.N.O.B. every time we're in town...though not often enough. They have an interesting menu, excellent service, a beautiful dining room, and the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. And I've had plenty of shrimp and grits. The last couple of times we've been there, we've enjoyed a beet and pistachio salad. Unfortunately, they appear to have left the Open Table network in the time between our booking a reservation and now.
