Good food if a bit loud
Very interesting offerings. The crab dumplings were excellent.
Interesting menu and format, but the food overall did not really resonate with me. Not sure I'll be back but that doesn't mean it wouldn't appeal to someone else with somewhat different taste.
SLC Eatery creates delicious deeply flavorful dishes. Our main wait staff was excellent; the staff pushing the appetizer cart seemed irritated by our questions about the menu, which is unfortunate given that their meals require questions. We each had different entrees and loved all of them. While the final bill was $250, we had 6 appetizers, 2 shared plates, 4 entrees and 3 drinks. We will go back.
Family brunch. Definitely has potential but there were a couple of hits and misses. The savory scone is a must try. Sometimes you have to flag down a server for a coffee refill or seasoning.
Food was really good and priced very well. Staff was very accommodating and attentive. Would definitely recommend.
Very fun and creative menu for Salt Lake.
Lovely place for brunch. Really enjoyed the Bahn Mi & traditional English breakfast. Great service
Delicious food, start to finish! Plus, the best hamachi I’ve had in Utah!
Such a great surprise in Salt Lake dining!
Can’t wait to go back.....
Excellent experience. All of us were happy with our meals. Was sad to see the banana split gone from the menu! The halibut could have used more seasoning. Overall we were very happy!
best dining experience in Salt Lake I've had in quite a while!
Service could've been better. The food on the other hand was fantastic! Will definitely be back again!
Our server Skylar is simply terrific. I enjoy going to your restaurant. Constructively, I don't see the sense or enjoyment in having an amuse bouche at the table when there is no water or wine. I wonder if that is something thought through as it is uncomfortable to leave such a lovely morsel untouched. Many good thing to report, but my number one critique is the lighting--soft in the dining room but harsh up front and from the kitchen. Thanks for such a lovely place.
Great place to share and try many exciting flavor combos with friends. Wonderful service. Will come again!
We found SLC Eatery to be a welcoming, modern restaurant with young, friendly waitstaff and an innovative menu. We ordered the octopus appetizer with crispy rice along with the bison entree. Both regular menu dishes featured unusual and interesting taste combinations that worked well together and were well executed. We also sampled some of the small plates on the food cart, such as the turnips, the beet salad, and the lamb ragout on round tortilla chips. These tastes were all a bit off: the beet salad too salty, and the turnips and lamb nothing special. I would recommend skipping the cart small plates in favor of more of the regular menu items. The dessert menu did not entice us, with its unusual pairings, such as a caramel and fruit cobbler with mint ice cream. SLC Eatery has the makings of a very innovative, popular restaurant with delicious food. In our opinion, striving for pleasing tastes over trendy, overreaching taste combinations would elevate SLC Eatery’s popularity and overall dining experience considerably.
It was a lovely experience. The service was extortionary and the meal amazing.
Wonderful evening with delicious food! We will definitely be back!!
Everything we ordered was great, even the drinks. Service was good. Will definitely be back again.
Fantastic! Great food and service. Unique menu. Our group was a bit... wild, so thank you for taking such good care of us!
Food was creative but lacks quality ingredients. Plates are pretty small.
A truly wonderful Gem right south of the heart of Salt Lake... easy parking in the evenings. The Eatery quickly has become our go-to place for special occasions, friends in town and couples night out. This is THE PLACE to find eclectic food, off the 'Italian main stream' and the 'rustic new American' most other fine restaurants in Salt Lake serve. Fit for foodies. (It can get a bit loud on occasion... downside of 'bistro style' seating and decor, I guess).
The food was excellent really: wonderful flavor and intereresting combinations. I happened to be dining solo this evening (on a business trip) and honestly expected to be in and out in no time. Although the service was friendly and attentive, it was painfully slow. Over an hour and it was not a busy night.
I definitely would recommend and if my son attends college in SLC; I'll be back!
This is the best dining experience you can have in Salt Lake City. It is so delicious you’ll lick your plates.
The food is exceptional, as well as the service and friendliness! This is the second time we’ve been here and will be back. Kristen is the best!
I've eaten at Salt Lake Eatery 3 times. Two dinners and a brunch. The dinners were very good. The brunch not so much. There wasn't much flavor in most of the food. The savory spread for the scone was very mustardy tasting. My breakfast sandwich wasn't very good. It sounded interesting as did most of the menu, but nothing was all that great. For for dinner. The menu changes often. The cart food is fun. The service was very good.
Loved the food. Very inventive, fresh and quite tasty. The coconut cucumber soup was great, as was the mushroom fettuccine. My daughter, a vegan, said the cauliflower/brocolli/quinoa dish was very good and her boyfriend enjoyed the chicken - which looked and smelled great. Our server was not so helpful in terms of description/advice about dishes, but the guy passing the cart was quite friendly.
I felt like the menu was a bit overboard for casual dining. Some things we ate were good but some of the sides were not very good. Nice place just wasn’t thrilled with the food and it was overpriced.
Olivia was a great Server!!, Cherie everything was wonderful. 😀
The food was wonderful and it was excellent to try and break down all of the flavors. Lots of complex interaction going on between ingredients.
It was amazing! The food is so thoughtfully prepared and creative. The dining cart was a fun experience and allowed us to try small bites of several different items. The ambience and space were great. The petite hen was wonderful. Everything had great flavor! If you are a foodie and can appreciate the creative side of food check this place out. It’s on the pricier side for some but fair for what you get.
I had high expectations, but wasn't blown away. I'd like to try the dinner. I loved the atmosphere and the concept and will be back.
Great place to experiment with great food in SLC! Everything was delicious!!
This was our first time at SLC Eatery. Loved the decor. We were greeted immediately and found the service throughout to be friendly and attentive. The menu was very eclectic and really liked the “dim sum” , small plate and entree concept. It allowed to try many different flavors and dishes at the same time. Very enjoyable and relaxing evening. Will definitely return.
Second time eating at the restaurant. Foods very good in the cart that brings around various appetizers is a great idea and very enjoyable. The restaurant itself is quite noisy mostly because of echoing as lotta hard surfaces that sound bounces off of.
Service was good.
My biggest recommendation is for the restaurant to have decanters available for wines that are brought by the customers. Their standard carafes that they used are simply not good enough for certain wines and you really need a true wine decanter.
Great concept. Fabulous menu. Loved it all.
Food was OKAY but definitely overpriced.
For this price, I’d recommend going to ‘The Rest’. Better prices, better food, better ambiance and better service.
The food was amazing. The staff was very helpful and polite helping us with suggestions on what to order.
We will be going to this restaurant again.
Just not that great. Our fish was overcooked. Dessert average. Salad also average.
Came in after finding this place on a food blog. The food was incredible. Beautifully presented and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone in the SLC area. The dim sum cart was also an amazing touch.
