As usual, the food was phenomenal. I feel for the short staffed servers, as they are trying to make the best of the limitations of outdoor dining and a skeleton crew. Nonetheless, the food was great and the manager was certainly sympathetic to everyone's concerns. I would certainly eat there again.
The staff was very gracious and accommodating; we were celebrating a milestone birthday with family. Can not say enough positive comments! Thank you again, for a truly memorable visit! Cheers!
SD is always a treat! Food, ambiance and service is always good!
I travelled to San Ramon since the San Francisco location was closed. I miss the experience dining at the Ferry Building. The food, service and experience in San Francisco was always top level. So when I did an engine search I decided to bring my friends to the San Ramon version. I was expecting pretty much the same experience.
I think because of Covid many of the favorite items you find in the city was not available here but I accepted that as is. The food is consistently good but unfortunately I was surprised by the service. I was among one of first few diners sitting down first soon after 12 noon. We got our appetizers quickly since we ordered that first. I could see that the number of diners overwhelmed the service staff. I’ll believe management missed the boat in this one. The
The other matter that concerned me was that a large group of diners who had arrived 15 minutes later had there food a served first. That large group were friends or family of the chef(s).
The neglect of service was apparent as my group had noticed all that was happening around us. I think I’ll stick to the dining experiences in San Francisco.
Average at best
Every dish we ordered exceeded our expectations. Our server was friendly, helpful and always there if you needed her. We loved it.
Food was good. The Shaking Beef was okay, but not as good as I remembered. I enjoyed the pork more this time. Service was good. After dinner, it took at least 20 minutes to receive our coffees. When we got home, I was told the bill was $700. Is there a way to get a copy of the receipt?
I felt neglected. Factually, we sat before a couple next to us who ordered more food and ordered after us. They received and finished they’re meal before we received ours. 20% gratuity is automatic! That is garbage. I will not be returning and I don’t recommend it.
We were waiting for our table about 15 mins after our reservation. Besides the waiting, everything is great.
The food at Slanted Door always satisfies! We were forgotten a little at the beginning but our waitress was excellent and made up for the small wait. Plenty of distance between the tables. The Imperial Rolls are outstanding!
We'll be back soon!
LOVED LOVED our waitress. Very friendly and helpful in choosing dishes.Excellent food and dining experience.
We really enjoyed the setting and service and yet the prices are completely ridiculously high and both our entrees were extremely salty -- we couldn't fully enjoy the food for it's overwhelming sodium.
I wanted to take my team to a nice lunch to celebrate since we haven't been able to get together much during COVID. The first time I ate at SD it was delicious and memorable. Our experience was anything but that. We ordered the yellowfin tuna, vegetarian spring rolls, and a dumpling. I didn't enjoy any of these apps. In addition, I ordered the pho bo which was the most bland bowl of pho I've ever eaten. The beef was also fatty and "tendony," not what I would have expected from such an exclusive restaurant. My team ordered the shrimp plate, vermicelli tofu, and pork chops. Everyone said it was nothing to write home about.
I'm not sure if they were having an off day, or maybe the lunch offerings just aren't as good as their dinner menu. Either way, I won't be going back anytime soon. Very disappointing.
Always love coming here. Service and food are excellent!
So happy your open again. We have missed you in our community.
The food was delicious and service was outstanding. We had the Vietnamese spring rolls with the most Felicia oh peanut sauce! We can’t wait to go back for dinner and try the shaking beef.
I proposed to my girlfriend and the night couldn’t have been more perfect! The food and staff are top notch!! I would give it 10 stars if I could!!
Wonderful night out with our parents- staff, food and attention to covid safety were all above and beyond expectations.
Very good good, very good service!! Come back again soon!!!
Outdoor seating in the patio. Somewhat limited menu with about 8 choices. Wait staff very professional, but was sometimes difficult to understand waitress because of her mask. We started with spring rolls with a spicy (mild) peanut sauce. Yummy. I had cello phone noodles and crab. Partner had pork chop. Both dishes seasoned well and arrived hot. Overall excellent experience.
Food was fantastic - service was reflective of day 2 of reopening
Wonderful food and friendly servers. A memorable date night.
Outstanding food, ambiance, and great customer service
It was grand re-opening and it was expected that service would be slow. Food was delicious.
I’m glad they are open and back in business. We should see their stellar service pre-COVID soon.
Food and drink is amazing!!! Service is usually very good too! Pricey, but I’m willing to pay that for quality which you get here! Just can’t go that often!
Vietnamese seafood or vegetarian crepe is very good! You can share since you get lettuce leaves & mint & put a small portion of the crepe on it. There is a dressing you can also add. Delish!
We also enjoyed very much the grilled salmon on a bed of noodles. Again, we shared & it was delicious. Both of these items were suggested by the first server we had on our first visit. We have been there 5 times now & always order these two items. Will try other entrees next time! We bring or meet our friends there, great location & love City Center!
Not as good as the one in the city
WOW !!! Lots of room to enjoy the food and company then the San Francisco location. Crowded venues for dining doesn’t appeal to my appetite. But Slanted Door, San Ramon is wide open for me to graze at my pace.
Even though we have a reservation, reception at the door was slow and we did wait. The food options are excellent; quality is very good. Wine selection was very good to excellent. Service was also very good. Overall it is very good and we'll go back.
Always great food in a great atmosphere. Food is a little on the pricey side but it’s very good.
The food was delicious, the counter seating offers a great view of the chefs preparing all the different dish.
We had a great time!!
Amazing food. The slanted door never disappoints.
Great service, great drinks, great food. Definitely lives up to the Slanted Door name. Very cool open floor concept as well.
Very good experience. We sat at the counter and watched all the cooks work
We went on a Thursday evening and had an early dinner. Excellent service, knowledgeable and helpful staff, great food.
5 of us shared apps and entrees. Great recs from our server!
