I thought that the Skyloft was nice. Personally I thought you needed a little more on the menu. Chicken fingers, onion rings, other sandwiches besides Turkey. Maybe a few more Dinner items. I went there because I was attending the "Here Come The Mummies" Show. I thought you needed a little more organization out at the show. The same waiters were working out there, which was nice but sadly I saw a few people just leave and not pay. I also think that if I wanted a Beer I should have been able to go up to the bar and buy a beer, pay the bartender. That might save you a little money. At least get paid for your alcohol. But on the whole I enjoyed it. Defiantly enjoyed the show. Thanks for having us.
The restaurant was not even close to full, but service initially was painfully slow! Thankfully the food was outstanding so I will give them another try. Get the cornbread!
I cannot recommend Skyloft restaurant because of one major flaw. I reserved my table for 4 for 7pm on Friday the 13th. In the afternoon, there was a phone call to confirm my reservation. The woman on the phone said, "we have 400 people attending the concert, it would be better if you just ate in the venue to avoid the line." I asked if I still could eat in the restaurant and was told yes. I confirmed that I would like to keep my reservation. She abruptly hung up. I then called back and a man said, "she told you the wrong information, yes you can eat in the restaurant." Imagine my surprise when at 6:05pm I received an email cancelling my reservation! I called immediately and my reservation was reinstated. Upon arrival, the restaurant was extremely quiet...hardly any tables occupied. Service and food were adequate. At the time of the bill, I spoke to the manager on duty who told me..."No, your reservation was not cancelled." I showed him the email and he continued to argue and state...."no, we do not cancel reservations." Then why was my reservation reinstated when I called immediately to investigate?? I do NOT recommend this restaurant because of the rude manager and the issues with making reservations to an almost empty restaurant. My suggestion is eat at one of the many busy and less expensive restaurants downstairs.
Six of us ordered the black cherry salmon and we all thought it was the best we have ever had!
Absolutely perfect evening and meal, our waiter was perfect and experience was perfect my date and I enjoyed ourselves.
Awesome staff, food, and entertainment. Highly recommend for a great night out!
They ran out of ribs. We were only able to get a half rack, but they were delicious.
I made a reservation On a Saturday for 10pm, but when I arrived at 930pm , I was told that the kitchen was closed.
The food at Skyloft was good. However, we there there on Saturday evening and the only dessert that they had was gelato. Also the wait person did not seem to know what they did or did not have. She also did not tell my friend that there was an up charge to substitute dirty rice for mashed potatoes even though they brought her sweet potato fries as the substitution. (This was corrected). There were only a few customers in the restaurant, so it is hard to understand why service was kind of shoddy. The food was good, but they need better servers and dessert.
Service was not what I would expect considering that there were very few dinners at the time. Hostess was awesome. As I expected for reading other reviews the check took forever. The food was very good but expensive.
For shows/concerts it was good. Food was not great.
Excellent food and service, would highly recommend for dinner before a show...also got to avoid general admission line to get into show early.
Amazing new venue! Rebirth Brass Band are always terrific but this show was extra special. The sound was spectacular, the food was great and the crowd was up and dancing. Highly recommended by all 4 of us.
Great food great venue to see a show
The filet mignon was sub-par. Looked like it was cooked offsite at a commissary. Needed gravy and a good filet should not. Mashed potatoes were definitely not made on site. And the apple cobbler was made from applesauce, not apples. Definitely a mediocre restaurant, but I wasn’t there for the food.
A great music venue even though its in a mall! Service and food was very good--however, it took a long time to receive the check. Didn't receive it until three quarters of the way through the show. Great beer selection as well.
We ate at the restaurant waiting for doors to open for a show. It's fine and good, but for how few customers there were at tables, it seemed to take a long time to get our bill and our change (!), and we had a few different people (3? 4?) that were doing things for us. We gave our cash with bill to one staff member who said she'd give it to our waitress. FIVE minutes later the waitress returned—turns out she was just walking by, and said "I'll be right back with your change," and then another FIVE minutes (minimum) to get the change (again, the place was not teeming). The food was okay, but my salad had a huge Romaine stump at the edge (which may have been on purpose but didn't look all that clean or appetizing) and the salad seemed pretty scant for a salad (the "extra" chicken I got with it seemed like an after thought). Even putting salad in a bowl rather than on a long plate might make it look more inviting and generous. The calamari was great, tho, especially for the reasonable $10. Next time, will wait to come at doors open to the show, and eat while waiting.
Our server, Rashad (sp?) was excellent! Very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the concert venue. We would definitely request him in the future.
Amazing experience. Saw Jefferson Starship and it felt like a private performance. We need to get the word out in Albany about this place- come support it!
The concert was amazing ! The service in the restaurant part not so good , but the food once it came out was outstanding , delicious Smoked wings, maybe the best ever and the turkey sandwich was best I ever had ! So if the service gets better, I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Dinner was good, we are before reservation at thr bar. We were allowed behind the gate for the show at 6#30 doors open at 7, everyone in ga line was informed about making a res. So now everyone behind gate early. As I was first in line, doors opened I went for a table and was knocked down on the stairs as he was pushing past me. Ridiculous, someone is going to get seriously hurt! I like the venue disappointed in how entering is managed.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was really pleasantly suprised. I had made dinner reservations prior to the show which gave us quick entrance to a table inside the venue. Table chairs were a little uncomfortable. Everything was clean and roomy and cool.
The food was OK. PLEASE cut back on the salt, the wings were inedible, and so were some of the sauces. We like salt, but like I said, it made it inedible. The waiter was quick to make amends and compensate which was nice. Staff was friendly and competent, with just a few glitches as we all tried to figure out the system.
Having dinner and watching a rock concert was great, people were chill even though booze was flowing. We had a great time and will come back.
I could not find fault with this venue on the first visit. The value is clear. The food was excellent. The prices were reasonable for the event tickets, the food, and the bar. The service was attentive but not hovering. The kitchen was quick to deliver. The venue was open, clean, and the sound quality was exceptional. Just loud enough to be consuming and energetic, but not so loud that it was uncomfortable, damaging, or would prevent being heard by your companions. I would gladly return for any show I was interested in and would consider going back just for the food.
We were led to believe we had bought tickets to a seat to see the show playing at this venue. The tickets were expensive and we thought it’d be nice to eat before the show. We came for our dinner reservations only to see a line had formed to get a decent seat for the show. In order to sit at a table inside so we were guaranteed a “good” spot we opted to wait in the line and forgo the dinner reservations. We waited 45 mins to an hour for the venue to open the doors, we had to run to a table where we promptly sat down with another couple we happened to meet in line. Finally 45 min after we were let inside the waiter came to take a drink order and almost tried to walk away before getting everyone’s order. We asked if we could split the check between the two couples (since we were strangers besides meeting in line) and we’re told no. When we got the food, which was over priced, we waited almost an hour and a half to receive the check. The couple we were with left without paying their full amount, thankfully the staff was understanding, but it could have been avoided with separate checks. The beer was also very over priced for the venue quality. I would not recommend this venue to anyone again, unless they clean up their act and hire more staff and have a better waiting system for table set-up.
Restaurant was very good. Food was delicious and received fast service. The music venue however wasn’t good. Service was awful, seating was uncomfortable, poorly organized. Don’t think I’d rush back.
Unfortunately they are very unorganized and we waited for 25 minutes just for someone to come to our table. The food tasted good but was a bit pricey for the small portions.
Abysmal...6 people seated at a booth for 4! waitstaff was clueless, took forever for drinks that were not complicted: beer, soda, coffee....but worse of all after waiting an hour and 10 minutes we received NO food. Waiter asked where our food was and was told to let us go if we wanted to leave. We had tix for concert next door....we had to pay $28 for our drinks and left the poor waiter a tip. Get to venue for concert and people got served food there! The bar served people outside the concert who got to listen for free while paying ticket holders had to wait for 20 minutes for a drink. Plus beers and drinks were served in glasses, some of which were broken on the floor, posing a fall and cut hazard. Need to step up your game. Venue was fine, but eliminate food and waitstaff in there. If u want a drink, u should get it yourself.
Will not eat there again. We will eat elsewhere and get to the concert for a good seat or spot at the stage.
I brought two friends to see the Outlaws. The waitstaff was friendly, but not enough of them. Need at least two more bartenders, as it took forever to order a drink. The food was tasty, but took 50 minutes to arrive and only two of the three orders arrived. The management did the right thing and did not charge me for the meal. The show was great and its a nice venue. I believe they will work the kinks out and it will run smoother in the future. I recommend giving it a try!
Great for a quick bite to eat and a cocktail before a concert. Weirdly located in a mall this restaurant seems over dressed. Too fancy for a concert venue an a mall. Service was slow for not being busy .
There was no quiet and our dining experience was intimate and enjoyable. The food was delicious and the prices were very fair. I would definitely make the drive back to visit again.
I went to see a show, I had made dinner reservations prior to the show but ended up sitting in the bar area near the music. The service was prompt and courteous with just the right amount of enthusiasm and friendliness. I liked the menu options. Looked healthy and delicious. My friend and I shared the glazed salmon and a kale salad both of which were excellent. Music and ambiance were great. Would definitely recommend
We went on Old Skool R&B NIGHT. The ambiance was amazing the food was delicious and the music was excellent.... I’ve recommended this place to family and friends and I will return with my friends!!! Go And Enjoy
An amazing time. Our waiter Jerome was very attentive. My child was the guest of honor to see Johnathan Rice and his haiku stylings on guitar. It was a sophisticated dining experience for her. Definitely recommend for the personal service and cool stylings of the environment.... An awesome mall venue. A NYC type of bar that makes you feel at home. Nice. Thanks for the tix Crossgates, much appreciated. Opening weekend was lil hectic for staff as they worked marbles out... But they were attentive and eager to please the patrons to ensure good experience. Food was amazing, prices reflect venue and ambiance.
We bought tickets for the concert and reserved a table at 8. We showed up 5 minutes early for our reservation and the place was full. The staff told us a manager would be over to explain. The manager came over and offered to sit us out in the mall where they had a hallway full of empty tables with no one dining. No thank you. I came for dinner and a show. I didn't want to miss the show, so we enjoyed the music while starving then went and found somewhere better to eat when the music ended. The manager was rude and condescending. Go there for the show, but eat first.
Understanding it was their first weekend the best part was our waitress who was really unhappy that the kitchen kept letting her down and giving her ice cold ribs, potatoes, etc. Even the macaroni salad which should have been chilled wasn't. Before the band starts playing the ambient lighting really should be bright enough to read the menu if one of your goals is to sell
I was a little Leary about going to Skyloft because it was their second day of operations, but everything was great. We were seated at a table right in front of the stage; the table was super small for four people, but it worked out ok. The fried calamari appetizer was a little too salty, but aside from that everything was perfect, including our waiter, Corey. The show was great and the sound level from our table was perfect!
