My family celebrated my mom's birthday at Skyline. The team at Skyline was gracious, accommodating and the service was beyond wonderful! We had 10 adults and a child at the celebration. Since the table was set up for 10 adults, the team bought a high chair for our littlest guest. In addition to the regular menu, they had a special menu for kids which included chicken nuggets/tenders which was her favorite food. We also had a cake bought in, since it was a milestone birthday for my mom. Everything went off beautifully. We were extremely pleased with our server, Megan, who always made it clear that she was there for us all the way. I no longer live in the Lynchburg area, but like to visit Skyline on occasion when I am in town. It has become one of my favorite local restaurants with a rooftop view that is spectacular. Thanks again to the team. You made my mom's birthday one that she will always remember.

Skyline really impressed me. They were so accommodating in terms of adding people to the reservation at the last minute. They also helped us celebrate a birthday by going above and beyond with a small dessert. It was a perfect evening!

Skyline never disappoints. The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside and enjoy a lovely evening. Our table was ready when we got there. The food as always was delicious. My husband had the special of grilled scallops on a bed of pumpkin risotto with caramel bacon. A perfect hello to upcoming fall. The wait staff added to our enjoyable evening with their smiles and attention to details. JoEllen was fantastic. If you haven't been to Skyline, make it a must on your list.

Went here for my anniversary and had a wonderful time ! We stayed at the hotel which was also wonderful . There is also a very nice store across the street that has anything you might have forgotten . Thanks for a wonderful evening

Nice restaurant on top of the Virginian Hotel. We booked our reservation a couple weeks ahead of time when we knew we were staying at the hotel for the night. It was our second time eating there. It’s got a lovely view and casual atmosphere, although as it was a Friday evening most patrons had made an effort to look nice. We had to adjust our reservation time about an hour before we were scheduled and the hostess was able to accommodate us. The service was quick. Drink selection was wide and we found beers we liked. The food menu looked good, and we chose salads. Both mine and my husbands were both rather mediocre tho… sort of flavorless. I remember this from our first visit as well. Overall we were happy to have a nice experience for the evening, I would recommend going here for drinks and atmosphere, not so much the food.

For the $200 (3 guests) I expected a little more. Piles of dead bugs behind the plastic window at our outside table not very appetizing. Two people joining me enjoyed their meals but my steak was overdone from my request of medium rare -to- medium well. Thus my rating of good, not great. 2 out of 3 isn’t bad… unless it’s your $65 meal that’s messed up. It was my wife’s birthday so I didn’t say anything. And our waitress was very nice.

Pork ribeye was incredible. Chef special was a Louisiana cheese grits with bacon, shrimp, sausage and veggies that was even better than the etouffé, which we already loved. And the coconut shrimp is always amazing!

Overall very nice. 3 of the 6 of us ordered filet and it was just okay. Main issue seemed that it was cooked on too high of a temperature. The outside was charred but the inside was raw. I’ve heard this from others too so I’d go with a fish dish if I were you. If we come again we would probably stick to appetizers and drinks. Those were great.

Everything was terrific. Only comment is waiters should always put a cocktail napkin under water glasses to soak up condensation and it would be nice to allow for side substitutions in case of allergies.

Eat outside if you can. The inside is super noisy and really needs some acoustical treatment. Outside was lovely. The attendant quite polite and the food substantial and flavorful. The manager came by to greet and check on everyone as well. This was our first time and we definitely will return (if we can sit outside that is.).

The skyline is a Great location/ atmosphere -- enjoyed our visit and celebrating our 32nd at the hotel-- first time back to the hotel since about 1939 when my grandfather was alive in Lynchburg=-- it was a very nice experience.
