Skyline Kitchen & Vine
Great food but over priced in my opinion. Good service and atmosphere.
Much better experience than last time - back to the Skyline I know so well :)
One of our worst dining experiences in Reno yet.
Pre-Covid we used to frequent Skyline Kitchen quite often, even with our out of town guests. This was the first time since and will be our last. For $130 one should expect more than a beet salad with one small beet cut into small bites and scattered over the plate with lettuce leave fragments; crab cakes that my wife couldn’t even finish, and an entree’ sized plate of seared scallops that were rubbery and zero flavor at their market price of $34 (they’re scallops, market price???. Whatever.),
If the food wasn’t bad enough, the “chef” (at least that’s what our server made a point telling us that’s who he was), had his mask pulled over his bearded chin (apparently that’s how he transmits the virus) and had to be reminded (by me) they only work if worn properly. Based on the glare he gave me the rest of our visit he must not have liked it. If it weren’t for the fact every employee there was wearing a mask and that he had to breathe on my scallops while taking a picture of his creation, I guess one could overlook it.
Went for my birthday and we loved the place. Everything was wonderful. We will be returning sooner rather than later
Took my daughter here for Easter lunch , got the Skyline burger and Poke Nachos. The burger was thick and cooked perfect , and the poke nachos were a healthy portion and plenty of poke on top ! I had a huckleberry hooch and must say that drink is legit , they don’t get stingy with the alcohol in that 🤗 Will definitely return . Outdoor seating is really nice too , sunny and shady choices to choose from
The food there is always awesome. The staff is friendly and awesome. The fried chicken was delicious.
Horrible experience, we got our appetizers which is good and after few minutes my husband got his dinner entree and I’m still waiting for mine, I ask the server about my order and she said it willing be out in a minute, few minutes later I’m still waiting for my food and my husband already finished eating I ask the server again and she said Oppps they forgot to cook your order coz the chef went on break, such a horrible customer service.
Nice place for tapas as well as a full meal. Good drinks too!
Colby, our server, did a great job! Food was excellent!
I like to occasionally try new to me locally owned restaurants instead of our usual haunts every so often . So this was our first time and last time at skyline kitchen . Yes as previous reviews state this very much appears to be a neighborhood hang out which I am all for but for us a one and done mostly because the service was done if the worst I have ever experienced. We got there and were seated at 5:40pm we were not able to leave until about 7:15 and we only had 3 appetizers and dessert. When we sat we were greeted by a bus type person who brought us water then immediately after our server who wanted to take our order we asked for a little time to see the menu. Well that turned into another 15 minutes at which he took our drink order and then literally another about 15 to bring our drinks and then take our order. The food then seemed to take quite a while , we were done with our drinks sitting for a while and finally at to wave at our server to come over so we could order second drinks . I first tried one if there cocktails from the menu and they were just so so , at which time for my second drink I simply ordered vodka soda and requested my favorite vodka (Tahoe blue). When my drink arrived I took a sip and immediately thought they forgot I wanted a premium vodka because it tasted like a very cheap kind with that awful strong bitter taste and Tahoe blue is a more tasteless glacier water type taste . I flagged the server again (as you can tell he never would come over and asked how things were). I asked him if he could check what vodka they used . He picked up my glass took it with him and then returned my same glass and said no they used Tahoe blue. I felt shocked he carried my glass around the restaurant and then just brought back my same one. I accepted what he said , food came and the taste of things was decent but one item we ordered was called lettuce wraps yet it was two spears of romaine that had chicken and sauce sitting on it.
This place is our favorite neighborhood “go to”restaurant! Food is always great but more important it is very welcoming and friendly. Colby is great, and thanks to all the staff who work very hard making it the perfect neighborhood eatery!!!
I made a reservation for a date night after a long time of restaurant breaks due to COVID. There was a full moon that night and a fantastic view of the city. Unfortunately the restaurant was at full capacity (the county requires no more than 25%) with no masks in sight (other than the servers). Tables were not properly distanced either. We did not feel safe so left without eating or drinking. Huge disappointment after waiting for so long :( Not sure if I will go back to this restaurant.
Good meal. Good service. A little slow on the evening we ate there but we had a nice time.
They need to keep the website menu and prices up to date. Took in a bottle of wine, website 9$ corkage, real life 25$. I understand corkage fees particularly if you have a large wine selection, they don't.
First time here! Nice little neighborhood hang out. Cool drinks. Great food.
Great food & service. We will definitely be back soon.
Good outing at a neighborhood hangout. Extensive beer offerings with limited wine options. Food was middle of the road at best.
Food and service was excellent. I have to say even though there was space between the tables they seemed to be at 100% capacity and not the mandated 35%.
I love the food here. Stumbled upon it on Open Table - Didn't realize it was mostly Tapas, but that being said, it was perfect and the food was very high end and delicious!
Great neighborhood place but not somewhere I would leave my neighborhood to go.
Dinner was nice. The food was delicious! We decided to go with tapas and sample a bunch of items on the menu.
Nice atmosphere for a girls day out to lunch. Waiter was awesome and no waiting on our reservation.
My party of 3 was celebrating a birthday. We were directed to our table as soon as we entered and were given water and menus. Our waiter was friendly and took our drink orders and returned with them in a short time, even though the restaurant was busy. 2 of us ordered the shrimp scampi entree, which is the best scampi in town, in my opinion. The other person ordered the angus burger, which she claimed was the best burger she had ever eaten. She had to save half as a leftover since it was so big. The waiter took our dessert order after dinner, and returned with gelato and a candle so we could sing Happy Birthday. I have never had a bad meal or bad service at this restaurant. It has become a favorite place to eat.
We were pleasantly surprised that everything in our experience was really good! We highly recommend for a casual date night.
This restaurant has a very appealing and trendy vibe, and food is excellent. Big screen TVs for watching games . . . or not. :) Warm and friendly, great service.
Always a pleasure having lunch at Skyline Kitchen & Vine. Great food, wine and ambiance. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and the food. Definitely recommend the Duck Nachos, burger and fries.
2 people in the kitchen, 2 in the front of the house, and 1 buser... THEY KICKED BUTT! The food was awesome & the service was incredible. That night was the most human I've felt in months. Thank you team Skyline!
great food, nice atmosphere. and good service. Will defiantly be back!
Food quality was ok. Service was outstanding. They did not limited in door capacity for 25%. We still have other table close to us within 6 feet.
We went there for our New Years Eve dinner, it was our first time there and we will be back!
Everything about the place was amazing!
We Really enjoined New Years Eve here. Great wine, beer and cocktails to choose From. So good we purchased a gift certificate for our friends.
My wife and I have been looking forward to trying Skyline Kitchen and Vine for the first time. We were the first ones there at 12:00 pm with reservation. I ordered the mushroom burger along with the sweet potato tots, and my wife ordered the Mac & cheese. The burger was very good but definitely not great compared to other burgers in town and is very expensive for just the burger. My wife’s Mac & cheese came about 5 minutes after my burger was served??, we were the first one in the restaurant, really ?. The Mac and cheese was very good and the sweet potato tots were awesome. I used the restroom before leaving and it was really bad !!, trash overflowing , sink dirty etc, definitely not cleaned. I told my wife to use the other restroom thinking it would be clean and it wasn’t, same dirty condition. If this is a reflection of cleanliness of the restaurant we will not return. To sum up our first experience at the Skyline Kitchen and Vine it was just “ok” and we will not return or recommend to friends.
The food was good, the wine was great and the ambience was relaxing yet energetic. We really enjoyed our date night here.
Great tapas and helpful staff. Will be wonderful when they can go back to the full menu.
Unic place excellent all the way
Lovely neighborhood restaurant, in a lovely area away from the casinos. Great selection of appetizers/entrees/desserts/cocktails. Had the caprese salad, the brussel sprouts, the filet mignon, and fish & chips. All but the fish & chips were excellent. My husband, from England, gave the fish & chips a '7' rating, but he's always trying fish & chips everywhere, ever hopeful to find a '10'. Wish we had room to try their desserts, they sounded really good. Service was also very good.
We reserved outdoor dining and we didn’t get an outdoor table. Strike one. The menu posted on open table was definitely different and we were disappointed with actual menu. Strike two. Our server was wonderful and what food we had was good but not sure I would go back. Sorry.
Great place to get together with friends
We’ve experienced their DT Reno location, and we love it! It’s more casual than we expect.
We are local and enjoy this spot ... a few suggestions, 1) need plants inside to balance out the masculine elements of concrete and metal and 2) the music was awful - I love punk music but not during dinner ... and this is not a hot versus cold temp thing.
