We felt very forgotten as customers. Even with a reservation, we were seated late. They forgot our drink order and tables were seated, fed, and paid their checks before we received our meal. The food was enjoyable, but the experience was lacking.

Skyline was a fun place. You could tell it was a venue for special occasions and did not provide everything like a regular restaurant. Meaning the waiter did not know the names of the wines or liquor that they offered because it is has a limited variety due to being a venue. We were fine with the house items. I must say all the staff were very accommodating. My husband and I went for the last Waterfire of the season. We were treated very well and able to come and go to view the Waterfire.

Everything just work as it should. I’m glad the “mandatory” $20 Valet parking has been reduced to $10, but really, the price of appetizers, dinner, drinks, and desert should offset a mandatory parking fee.

It was our 2nd time enjoying a dinner at Skyline at Waterplace. This time it was with a friend that flew down from North Carolina. He was thoroughly impressed with the restaurant atmosphere, beautiful views, customer service and of course our meals that were excellent. My fiance and I agree that next year we will be having our wedding reception at Skyline at Waterplace.

We had reservations at 645. We finally sat down at 730. She had the steak fungi asked for medium it came out rare. I had the swordfish it came out well over cooked. Finally got to eat at 830. Servers were doing all they could but it was obvious they were understaffed and it was obvious that the kitchen was just pushing plates out and not presenting anything of value.

The service was not very consistent, the server was pleasant however and did his best. We had asked for water and it was brought to us about 1/2 hour later. The app and entrees came out in quick succession, making us feel rushed to get through the meal. The reason for this may have been that we were seated in the tent and food was being brought from somewhere else a few stories down in the restaurant. Overall, it was a nice evening and we enjoyed our time there, the calamari with sweet chili sauce was wonderful as was the salmon. No cocktails can be had when dining in the tent, something the restaurant should seriously look into remedying.

We arrived early and were unable to be seated immediately which was fine except when we camped back 45 minutes later we were seated at a table that was available when we arrived. The waitress was running around frantic and busy. My husband and I had the penne with vodka sauce and added chicken. The pasta was dry, with very little sauce, that did not taste like a pink vodka sauce and the chicken was extremely salty. Also very disappointed in the atmosphere the restaurant was closed for a wedding and we were seated outside under a tent. Very disappointing and won’t be going back!

Absolutely love this place. We have been twice in the past month. Both nights we were sat outside because of a wedding. Beautiful views overlooking waterfire basin . Limited menu at this time yes, however please do not let limited menu deter you. We ordered 5 different entrees and 3 different appetizers. Each were extremely flavorful and prepared to perfection. I myself had sirloin steak which I will tell you was cooked medium rare and cut with a butter knife. Everything on menu was amazing the service second to none and the ambience well.... You really need to be there to experience it yourself. Please do yourself a favor and check this wonderful establishment out.

Was quite impressed with the food and the restaurant. We went during Waterfire, of course so the views and music were great. Even though they could not bring up our reservation, the staff was happy to accommodate us. Felt badly as they were short staffed but they tried very hard to make up for that. The food was very tasty.

As others have commented, there was a wedding taking place, so all reservations were outside under a tent. As it turned out, that wasn't an issue, but I would have preferred they disclose that upon making a reservation. Also, the menu was limited and not what was shared on Open Table. Food came too quicky and was clearly pre-made. My husband's dish was just warm. Also, since Waterfire was going on, there were people all around that were just drinking and it was uncomfortable to be eating in this atmosphere. Overall 3 stars.

The overall experience was good, but we went on a waterfire night and was supposed to be there for two hours but was asked to leave to make room for another party... they gave us a drink for our trouble. Also, valet parking with them is $20 and we ate at there restaurant. I probably won't be back.

I had been here one other time and enjoyed the food and service. This night the service was terrible, very understaffed , we had to wait for ever to get a glass of water which came when we were paying the bill. The food was warm. Was very disappointed.

Service was super, thanks Danny! Food was prepared very well and flavors were excellent. Would absolutely return, we went on a very quiet mid-week night, but that was even better, no crowds and received special attention.
Will recommend to all my friends.

My birthday was ruined! They took our reservation knowing in advance there was a wedding and didnt tell us until the day of that we would be outside, with a menu of chicken fingers, burgers, or fried calamari, and the only bathroom option being port-o-potty’s. We werent able to get a reservation at any other nice restaurant in view of the waterfire since notification was given to us at 5:17p. We’ll never go back and advice you not to go either unless you want to waste your time, money, and lose your appetite on the fast food.

Booked this reservation . The afternoon of I got a Message from the restaurant saying that they were closing the main restaurant for a wedding and were asking if I still wanted to eat there . I tried calling back with no answer . Showed up for my reservation and checked in and there was no table for me . Told I would be taken care of and no one ever came back . We walked out after 45 minutes . We were doing the waterfire walking tour . As part of that ticket we were supposed to get standing room. They didn’t bother to reserve that either . When a fellow person on the tour asked the Manager what was going on his response was “I just come here to help out my brother in law “. While there I also observed many tables fighting to get service. One table had been there for 40 minutes and only got water. This place is a disaster . Steer clear .

We happened to be lucky enough to get a reservation here during Waterfire. What a special night! Scott (owner?) and Eric (Manager?) went out of their way to ensure an incredible dining experience. We had to be relocated because of a wedding and they made it their priority to assure a fantastic dining experience. The outdoor seating area is beautiful, especially at night with the Providence Skyline as your backdrop. I’ve been here twice and the food was exceptional both times!! Can’t wait to go back!

We reserved a table for 4 to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our friends. On arrival we were not shown to a table in the restaurant but rather to a table in the tent and informed that the menu was limited from the BBQ only! As it was a busy time we had no choice but to stay. Evidently they had booked a wedding and forgot to plan?? Strike 1 martini served in a water glass. They wedding had all the glasses... Strike 2 the gorls went to use the bathroom and were informed they could not but would have to use the portajon as the restaurant bathroom could not be used. Nice to be dolled up and sent to the portajon. Strike 3 grilled chicken cooked to shoe leather consistency. Will not be back. Will not recommend.

The atmosphere was wonderful. We had seats outside right on the water and wewere able to be up close to the laser light show. My husband's steak was cooked a little bit too much and the owner happily took it back to give him a new one, gave him a beer and took it off of our bill. Great customer service. Our waiter was friendly, polite and had a great sense of humor. Would return again.

We reserved a table for outdoor seating to view the much hyped H2O laser and water show on the river. Even though it was hot out, I'm glad we reserved outside because the interior of the restaurant was noisy, the lighting was distracting, and the environment uninviting. The menu was limited and the food was decent, but not anything I would return for. We were very excited for the show, but it was a major disappointment. The show consisted of a water screen that they projected movie clips and trailers on. I could have watched the same thing at home but with better resolution. The water created a mist to project the images on, but it was often difficult to distinguish what was being projected because water doesn't make for a very clear screen. Overall it was a major disappointment. The only plus side was getting together with friends, which we could have done anywhere.

We dined here for restaurant week/ a birthday dinner - arrived 45 min early for our reservation and were told there's no way to be sat early since they were behind and that we should go sit by the outdoor "express bar" we did and came back to the hostess stand 5 min before our reservation time to be told our reservation had been given away. We were given a menu and the manager approached us promising free drinks and apologizing that we had to wait another 15 min. Once we sat we had an app that was extremely salty. Ordered entrees and waited over an hour for items from a prefix menu! When we approached the manager again asking if our pasta had been put through to the kitchen he said "well weren't you the ones we couldn't find?" and that the kitchen was backed up. Needless to say, we never received a free drink and once we were done with our meals the check took 25 min to process through our server because she was eating pizza a table over from us with one of the Chefs. Needless to say - do not waste your time. Food was not worth it and service was terrible.

We had a 7:30 reservation and were seated at 8:00 which was not a big deal we were not in a rush. We booked a table to watch H2O by Skyline. There was a show at 9 and 10:30. We were seated in a spot where the show was not visible. Again, not a big deal we thought we’d be able to get to watch the 10:30. The entire dining experience took until 11:00!! That was the whole marketing scheme on heir advertisement...dine with front row seats but we saw NOTHING!!

Our waitress Michelle seemed to disappear constantly and it was painfully long between our courses from a pre fixe menu. When it came time for dessert, she took our orders and came back 20 MINUTES LATER only to tell us there was only one option left. I told her forget it and asked for the bill and she was hostile. All of a sudden 5 mins later are 4 to go desserts of 3 different varieties. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that these were the desserts on the tray that gets brought to each table to show the options. Really, is that even appropriate Michelle? Especially when I was not combative in any way?

Lastly, Michelle gave us a hard time with the bill in regards to how we were paying. We were splitting the bill between two couples and wanted the cash applied then the rest on the card. Michelle told us that’s not how it works, we have to tell her how much on the card and THEN apply the cash. I mean come on! Really? You cannot be serious. We paid the bill and tipped appropriately even though honestly she left us to metaphorically perish the entire night and made us feel like we were bothering her whenever we wanted a drink.

Unacceptable service and we will never go back.

The reviews here are either really bad or really good. So we decided to give it a shot. Well, the bad reviews are accurate. First of all valet parking was $20...Once seated we were given pre fixe menus. We were expecting the weekly menu that was posted online. No option but the limited pre fixe menu. With a limited menu you’d think things would’ve gone smooth. Nope. They are beyond unorganized. Dinner came out after an hour and twenty minutes, unfortunately not to our table. I watched my waiter bring our meals to two tables incorrectly before figuring out the meals were ours, (he took all the orders so obviously couldn’t remember 3 of his own tables). After he attempted to serve us the plates he had served to the two other tables we requested they were sent back for new plates. Came out about 10 minutes later. Cold. Obviously same plates. We were starving at this point so we just ate. After taking our plates he assumed we didn’t want to take our left overs and threw out the remaining half of my dinner. Never was asked if we wanted another drink. Manager was aware of the problem. DID NOTHING. This place is a complete joke. Oh yeah and I also watched another table have to send a plate back 3 times. All of the customers were basically talking about how awful everything was to each other. Don’t waste your time or money!!!

Our first time wasn't the best the service was not good at all. The waiter we had took our order, I ordered a white sangria and the waiter brought red out,and said sorry this is,what they made . implying deal with it.
I ordered an appetizer and was asked at least 6 different times to order an entree I was already to leave after the appetizer I ordered was clams with white sauce and it came to the table as red and again was told I'm sorry this is what they made. This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant . I notice people behind us get the wrong dishes by the same waiter. In the end no entree was ordered.
Its a nice pretty place but will not recommend it ..sorry

We were asked to sit roof top for the best view

Sat for 45 mins without a drink. Our server did his very best being the only waiter for Atleast 10 tables. He was so nice but could not handle what was being handed to him. No fault of his own.

Both manager and staff were well aware of our upset

They need to take a class on how to run a restaurant and understand service

Will not go back and will just refer in anyway! Huge disappointment

Never saw the show could not see beyond the plastic

We had reservations for 7 and weren't seated until 7:30. I let that slide as it was a Friday night. Once seated, we sat for anther 25 minutes before anyone even came over to us. We left and went to Quay for good service and delicious food.

Appears and feels a lot like a Disney Cafeteria. Food is good and service is good. No wine selections of any quality. Feels like you are eating either by the highway with lots of traffic or backstage with lots of traffic to the dressing rooms. Location is great but atmosphere needs much improvement !

The atmosphere was just what was needed, it was beautiful and the weather was nice. Our waitress was great and very attentive however the manager (I believe his name was Mike) rushed us towards the end of our meal probably because there were people who needed to be seated. He brought our bill over (not our waitress) with our desserts and wished us well. We were still picking and had a half pitcher of sangria left to enjoy. Our food order accidentally was overlooked and therefore never made, no biggie we weren't in a rush and we understand that mistakes happen. Mike offered to take half off our pitcher of sangria for the extremely long wait (about 35 minutes). When he brought our bill he didn't take it off, we were torn on whether or not we should remind him or just suck it up. Overall the ambiance was magnificent and the food was delicious, just didn't like the feeling of being rushed.
