Cesar salad was tasty but romaine was passable, not really crisp. We both ordered oyster po’boys. Oysters heavily breaded, not battered. They appeared to be a frozen, breaded product, like breaded shrimp. Disappointing. The bun was a hamburger bun, a few days old. Fries were room temperature, dry and chewy. The cup of clam chowder was very good according to my companion.
The food was amazing. Their steak bites were outstanding and I loved the clams. Server was great and the place is really pretty.
Stroganoff was good,, but a bit dry and gravy dark, nit much beef, not quite creamy enough. Lovely service. Noticed you are now a higher priced ala carte menu. This will unfortunately and necessarily reduce the frequency of our visits. Love the place and ambience and service.
We got lunch at it was great! I ordered salmon and my date ordered A French dip. Both were amazing; probably the best French dip I've ever eaten. Service was very friendly. The Smores martini and the pecan old fashioned were tasty and unique. Very nice experience and the building itself is quite classy. Would definitely return.
Wonderful food. Great music! Outside seating options. Welcoming and cozy
Our reservation was at noon and we were sat right away. After that it all went downhill. They tried to get the heat lamps working but could not get it to work. We and the other tables kept smelling gas and it was a bit scary. We did not get waited on for 15 min and our food came at 1:10, an hour and ten minutes after being sat; an hour after ordering. My chicken sandwich was stone cold and I sent it back. They brought it back in 5 minutes without the fries and they microwaved the whole plate, burning the bacon and cooking the avocado and Mayo at high. My chicken was hard from being cooked twice. We watched two other tables getting their food to go after being served since it was such a long wait. I can wait but this was bad and the food was not good. Plus they served a slice of tomato that was green and had the stem. Asked for my fries back which was my same fries that were cold from sitting in the kitchen.
Service was a little slow, but they were very busy and working very hard.
Good not up to par.
As we had a reservation for Sunday lunch, we arrived and were seated immediately. The staff was very nice and our server was very good. We were checked on by other staff at least a few times.
I had the California Omelette, which I enjoyed very much and the coffee was kept full.
We were seated in the back which also has a back door that leads to outdoor seating. As the weather was sort of cold/rainy, it was a little uncomfortable as people went in and out, so we kept our jackets on. This was our second time eating here, the first was a couple years ago, and we'll certainly come back as well as recommend them to others.
Excellent as always - I have to go to Skylarks every time Im in Bellingham!
Good food, and wonderful service. The atmosphere is unique and relaxing.
Anniversary dinner. We were well taken care of by our server and the food was excellent. They seated us right away and the food arrived very quickly as well. Would recommend to anyone as a casual dining experience or for special occasions.
Very friendly and courteous staff, good quality food, great atmosphere.
Service was great. Great location. The furniture was wobbly and the tables are very small. Our steak oscar meal was not great. The vegetables were undercooked (basically fresh crunchy), the risotto had a weird taste, and the crab on the steak was shredded canned crab. I think we will be back but for simpler items on the menu like their soups and sandwiches.
Great food with nice servers
Nicest brunch experience I’ve ever had in every way.
Seated outside near the fireplace it was quiet and secluded. Rose gave us beautifully great service and accommodated my questions about the food by cheerfully checking with the chef. The table we had was far enough away from the live music that we could enjoy it but not talk over it. I have always enjoyed my meals at Skylark's but this was my first outdoor experience with them and it was really wonderful.
Breakfast was tasty. I paid $1.50 for strawberries on my waffle, and that consisted of what looked like just two strawberries.
I hoped the restaurant had local eggs and chose Skylark because their website said, “local vendors and products whenever possible.” Yet their eggs are not local.
Tip: They have outdoor tables that are under the awning, thus will keep you away from light rain.
The hostess and wait staffs were welcoming, accommodating, efficient, and did their jobs well. The meal and drinks had a lot to be desired. The only item we really enjoyed was the clam chowder. Shrimp and red potatoes were overcooked. Steak was bland and not TOP round, more like bottom round. Salmon was a little bland as well. Thank goodness for the lemon wedge to add flavor.
All in all , not what we expected from viewing the menu online to choose our dining experience to celebrate milestones in our lives.
We always make a point of going to Skylark’s when we are in Bellingham. They have outdoor seating with the nicest atmosphere. Their waitstaff is impeccable. The food is always great. If you are visiting Bellingham it’s a must!
It was a great experience all around from food to ambiance and waitstaff. Definitely would return!
We enjoyed an excellent meal outdoors while we listening to an excellent live band. Will definitely do this again!
My partner and I went for our anniversary dinner- we were seated in a private area and could not have asked for a better evening! Incredible food and service!
Service and food are always great. Love that we can take our pup on the patio. Lots of shade. Love this gem in Fairhaven.
We were two couples, eating outside on a lovely sunny
day. Masks were not required for vaccinated folks, and we were glad to access the patio without walking through the restaurant, reducing our exposure ( we are vaccinated senior citizens.j Service was excellent: timely, not rushed. Easily accommodated some changes to an order. Food was delicious! A range of choices are offered, including both brunch and lunch. I enjoyed the ancient grains salad with shrimp added: very tasty!
There was a wait when we got there but since we had a reservation we were seated literally immediately. The patio is perfect. The food was fresh and wonderful, the drinks were great, and the servers were attentive even though it was very busy. It was our first time there but we’ll definitely be back.
Food was great with the right price! Ambience was very good after we changed chairs to a more comfortable version. Service was excellent
Food was great but service was terrible. Got all our food at once even though we asked for a starter course and we didn’t even have our drinks yet. Then we ordered dessert and the waitress never cleared our dinner dishes or asked if we wanted more drinks. Food was outstanding so take a chance you get another waitress. Patio was wonderful.
Great as usual! sat outside for brunch - I have not had brunch there before this visit (only dinner) and it was as yummy as dinner with great selections on the menu!
Great breakfast, exceptional service, highly recommended!
We enjoyed our dinner here. The halibut wrap was delicious. My husband loved the oysters and chips. We highly recommend.
Slightly disappointed with the quality of the food. The oysters in my po boy had flakes of the shell and the coating was very mushy. I ended up taking them off the sandwich and ate it without. My son's Mac and cheese was extremely over-cooked and had almost a wine flavor to it. My guest's beef stroganoff was very strange and not enjoyable. Overall not a good out-of-town experience.
Walked in the front door to 10+ fruit flies greeting us; opted to sit out back! Food was fine, nothing to write home about
First time visit and outdoor seating. Best experience! Totally coming back for dinner some evening!!! can’t wait to see how the lights look at night! Thanks so much! My wife, daughter and I loved our visit!!! can’t wait till next time!
Dead flies by window table. Extremely slow service and the food came out cold and burnt.
Good Bistro Burger. Next time I'll order french fries AND a side of coleslaw. Waiter forgot to bring our ketchup, but no big deal.
Breakfast was delightful. Crispy bacon was actually crispy. Back patio was nice.
On vacation from South Carolina
Came here for a business meeting. The weather was nice so we reserved a spot outside on the patio, even on a Monday a reservation was necessary.
