The Sky Room was an elegant restaurant in every possible way. The ambiance, service and food was always excellent. My wife and I were sad when it closed for renovation. For a while I thought that it could be gone for good. We had many fond memories and wonderful dinners at the Sky Room before it closed. When the 2.0 version finally opened, I knew it wouldn't be the same...nothing lasts forever, however; change is a good thing. I read about the renovations to the restaurant and was excited to get back. The place is beautiful, even without the dance floor. Small missteps started showing up at the bar. We arrived early so we could have drinks at the bar before we sat down for dinner. After a decent Old Fashioned, I ordered a club soda with a lime. What I got was room temperature water with a lime wedge. It wasn't an issue until I mentioned it to the bartender as we were heading to our table. She told me that it was club soda, looked at the bottle and admitted that it was completely flat. Even a rookie bartender (she was) knows that club soda has bubbles. Another one was delivered to our table. It was club soda... room temperature. I was surprised that there were no tablecloths on any of the tables. The highlight of the evening was our server, David. He offered suggestions of wine parings, and recommended the beef Wellington. I ordered an appetizer of dozen oysters Rockefeller which were eventually served except they were oysters on the half shell, not Rockefeller. Another issue and another long wait. I should mention that it was a kitchen error, not David. The beef Wellington was excellent. I hope that The Sky Room can solve some of their problems and recapture the magic of the original restaurant. I recommend that they replace the current bar staff with professionals. I have no issue with higher prices so stop cutting corners with amateurs. Invest in some tablecloths, replace the steak knives because it's a sin to struggle cutting a Wagyu Beef Wellington with a knif

The staff was so warm and professional and the food was outstanding. Crab cake with Parker rolls is a must with Laurent-Perrier rosé champagne - divine! The halibut is incredible and potato beignets - chef’s kiss. Flambé desserts, too! So excited to have Sky Room and Fairmont Breakers in Long Beach.

What a great experience! One of my Long Beach bucket list items checked off. Born and raised in Long Beach and have always wanted to eat in the Skyroom! It didn't disappoint. I love the architecture and décor of the building. And the food lived up to the my expectations too! My friend and I shared everything. Starting with the Parker House rolls we then moved on to a daily special for an appetizer (grilled artichoke hearts... delicious!). Next came the Caesar salad was very well made. For the main dish we choose the hanger steak. Loved it! The potato beignets served with the steak were okay. A little tasteless honestly. But the steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Then chocolate tort dessert hit the spot to close things off. Really, you must try this place a least once! Cheers!

Came in last night for my husbands birthday. Our server was Erik and he was great! The star of the show tonight was this beat salad. It was so good! The pistachios and the cheese were 10/10. Ribeye and halibut were also fantastic. Ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the sauce the halibut was in was delicious. Can’t wait to come back! The general manager Courtney also stopped by and was very welcoming and professional.

First time since it re-opened. Looks nice but too noisy. Tables were too close together. Food quality was good, small portions for the price, we left hungry.

My friend and I had an incredible time. I’m so glad this incredible historic hotel was given the restoration it deserved. We got to the SkyRoom early so we had a table by the window with a view; but honestly the food and atmosphere was so good that you’d want to come here even if it wasn’t one of the best view spots in the region! The crab cake the scallops, the beet salad were all outstanding and the bananas foster flambé was delicious and a fun way to finish. I’m definitely going back.

Another enchanting evening and another culinary experience. The Roasted Beet Salad bedded on Candied pistachios, stracciatella, & pomegranate gastrique was incredible. As was the Hiramasa Kingfish Crudo. Our entrees of Prime Hangar Steak, with a small vessel of Potato beignets, sautéed kale, sauce "au poivre" was prepared perfectly and was so tender. And the colorful cauliflower of the Maine Diver Scallops coupled with fried capers, romanesco, & Ivory Sauce. Executed with the precision of Poseidon - perfectly seared scallops with a caramelized crust on the outside and a tender and sweet inside. Same for the halibut. Marissa was attentive and so accommodating .

We had an unforgettable evening at the Sky Room! The staff helped me surprise my sister for her birthday, they surprised me as well with the amazing table they had set up for our group! Food was delicious and the views are stunning. I highly recommend.

This was a great place for a date night. Great views of the city and ocean. The roof top bar was also a fun spot. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking.
