A great new addition to the mid-town restaurant scene.
First time at Skorpios and the service was outstanding! We had the octopus, Branzino and the cheese and everything was delicious.
The treat us with Proseco when we arrived, which we weren’t expecting so that was a very nice gesture!
All the staff is very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend it and come back.
If you want a place with a good vibe, great food, friendly staff and the option to linger, this is a great choice. Ike is a great host and Walter is an attentive server. My new go-to!
Food was delicious
Wonderful place! Service was a bit slow but the manager/owner did everything he could to make up for it. They were super busy so that could have been why the service was slower than expected. Food was wonderful so worth the wait. I think this might be more of a locals place but I would recommend it to everyone!
One of the best Greek restaurants anyplace outside of Greece. Definitely a keeper on my NYC restaurant lists.
Amazing Service... our waitress Erica had been there just a week but was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Host came to visit out table and make us feel welcome. Whole Red snapper was delicious along with Greek and Watermelon Salads. Can't wait to visit again.
Dinner was delicious. The tables were spread out enough that the noise level was surprisingly low, even as the restaurant became more crowded. The waiters were attentive and polite. We enjoyed our experience at Skorpios and will definitely return!
Great experience and meal! Host and staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent food great service and good value We will be coming back!!
This was our first visit to Skorpios and it was fantastic. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. The manager sent over a nice dessert and complimentary drink as we were celebrating a birthday. I highly recommend that you visit for a beautiful lunch or dinner.
The food was very good and the service couldn’t have been better. The room is very attractive- slight problem with noise level coming from speakers but it was taken care of immediately and very graciously.
The prices are very reasonable- overall a great value.
Wonderful new restaurant! Fresh and very delicious menu. Staff is very kind and helpful. I was shopping midtown and this was the perfect place to take a break.
Amazing dining experience. Started with grilled octopus (amazing!), along with the special dip platte (absolutely delicious!) Main courses were the whole branzini and lamb chops. All cooked to perfection and the most flavorful lamb I’ve had! The branzini was perfectly seasoned and consumed with joy. At the end, we received a nice complementary baklava and a cookie. I loved the decor, and Michael and Ike were very attentive. My next trip to NYC will most definitely include a trip back to Skorpios!
Music was too loud. Service and food were very inconsistent
Great place to host an intimate party for 10. It was fabulous and the owners /managers were on point. I would definitely host another dinner patty of 10-20.
Staff needs better training and coordination. No wine list. No dessert list. Extremely expensive cheap wine choice in a bland assyrtiko unknown winery. Appetizers and main course were luke warm. Fish and seafood seemed fresh but not prepared well. No authentic EVOO, (no grassy smell, no taste). Assuming they are cutting costs. Not everything on menu was available. The place felt covid safe. The best part was the free masticha at the end,. The non-baklava chocolaty thing was also free (pictured), we were very disappointed it was not what it was named. They did heat the fish and brought some non-olive oil. Fish smelled of vinegar. It was an unfortunate night, but given that the place is newish, hopefully they will learn by visiting Avra I suggest.
As a new restaurant Skorpios had opened at a difficult time which is unfortunate as it deserves to do well. The food is good, the room is very well done and the service couldn’t be better.
Hopefully as the word gets out the restaurant will continue to attract the audience it deserves and Skorpios will take it place as one of the better restaurants in the area.
It was wonderful! Food and service!
Great Food, Great Service - They showed great attention to detail with service and ensured that we were well satisfied with our meal and drinks. LOVED their menu and the food was excellent - would definitely recommend this experience.
Great food and service! I look forward to coming back.
We were treated royally and the service was impeccable. The lamb chops were some of the best I have ever had. It was the first time I've had the chops chargrilled.
One of the best restaurants in the midtown area! Food was great, service was excellent, and the ambiance really makes you feel like you are in Greece. The Prixe Fixe menu is a great deal as well. Highly recommend!
This restaurant has a really nice vibe that begins with the cordial welcome from Marion, the friendly service from Walter and the personal attention from Ike. The atmosphere was vibrant and convivial. It is a new go-to for after work gatherings.
Will definitely be back!
They have a Happy Hour menu on their website, but they said it wasn't available. It was the sole reason we chose the restaurant. I had finished my glass of wine, and they never asked if I wanted another one. The waiter had disappeared, but the restaurant was almost empty. Terrible place, terrible service.
I arrived for their early catch which their version of happy hour only to learn that they are no longer doing it. I complained to the hostess and bartender who thought I was crazy and dumb and had to show them their NYC website listing the menu. The bartender reached out to the manager Ike who clarified the matter and informed me that their website has not yet been updated. To make it up to my friend who is a wine drinker he offered to do 2 for 1 drinks. Another observation I noted was when I entered the restaurant I had to show proof of vaccination and my government issued ID meanwhile my friend who is Jewish and white walked in and was not asked to show proof of vaccination let alone her ID. The reason the staff was accommodating was because my friend informed them of my belated birthday, which was three weeks ago.
Ike sat us down in a booth area. The wait staff was very pushy and neurotic especially we stopped eating for no more than 5 minutes that they are so eager to take our plates or glasses away.
We shared the Caesar Salad, which was beautifully presented and it contained anchovies which was tolerable. The salad was OK, not our favorite. My friend ordered the lamb chops which were delicious and the sauce was to die for. I ordered the branzino because they did not have salmon along with a side of brussel sprouts. I was impressed by the quantity and the taste was very good and the dish could definitely could feed at least two people. So I ate half and took the other half home. I was served with a dessert of baklava and vanilla cream with a candle for my belated birthday. The ice cream was great but the baklava was not as fresh.
There were several kinks that restaurants is continuing to work on since they just opened a few months ago. Ike was very personable and I would return when he is working there because he would ensure that his customers will be accommodated and welcomed.
Great food and friendly service
Upon being seated we were visited by who I believe was the owner of the restaurant. We asked the owner to create a tasting menu for us. He presented us with a beautiful steak and an entire Branzino. The highlight of the entrees was the scallops over a risotto.
The food was delicious, the service was great, I will definitely be back.
Restaurant was not clean. Glasses were dirty from prior use. Food was good. Service was strange. First interaction was about fifteen minutes after being seated. Food came out in wrong order. Refused to offer a wine list and instead insisted on one white wine. Forgot to bring side dishes with main course. Madagascar Shrimp (about 4 ounces of shrimp meat for >$30 as a main course) should be avoided at all cost! To top it off restaurant claimed to OpenTable that we did not show up. Maybe they were confused…they did not show up…unfortunately we did!!
The ambiance and decor was really great. The service was confusing and slow. We received food multiple times for a table that sat next to us and moved and then ended up with their bill. The food itself tasted great however, it made my partner violently sick that night on his birthday. The wine was also very much overpriced at $15 a glass which we didn’t find out until the correct check came.
Nice! we leave the theater late and they wait for us! excellent service and food too! Thank you!
We went there primarily for Oysters but they did not have any. That was just the beginning of a number of things they did not have right down to no coffee or tea 🤷🏽♂️. Our waiter was extremely friendly and sympathetic to our situation. Thankfully the restaurant did try to make up for the missed items with other items. We were hoping for a wonderful evening given the beautiful setting but left disappointed. Hopefully the restaurant will get it right for other guests.
Service, food, and ambience was exactly what we wanted. The concierge at our hotel made the perfect recommendation for us to dine here. Ike was a amazing and a true host that made us feel welcomed. I hope to return again very soon !!
A most visually beautiful restaurant and yes, I did feel like I was back in Greece. Bernie showed us to our table and very comfortable seating, by the way. The food was exquisite…..I had grilled calamari and roasted salmon. My friend and I had the white Greek wine by the glass—perfect accompaniment to our seafood. A Greek dessert was brought out on the house, which made it even more special. Am looking forward to returning to this midtown oasis in the autumn!
Great food and extra friendly service.
Food is absolutely delicious. They only have restaurant week menu for lunch. we went with calamari and zucchini chips for starters, both are delicious. The calamari is very juicy and tender and the zucchini chips are well coated and seasoned. For main course, we got tuna pasta and crispy salmon. I love love the salmon, the skin is crispy and the pink meat is so soft and melt in your mouth. My brother got the tuna pasta which was delicious as well and full with flavor. The services are outstanding as well. Highly recommended!
I am so excited that a new restaurant has taken over this great location. I went for restaurant week and had a very nice experience. The hummus and branzino were just delicious, and the dessert was excellent, as well. Skorpios is a welcome addition to the area’s dining scene.
A friend recommended that I try out Skorpios for dinner. It is near the office and the restaurant was on point! The food was fresh, delicious and beautiful. Try the branzino...it is off the charts. The space is beautiful and gives you all the Greek island vibes. Happy to have them in the neighborhood.
Skorpios is rated 4.3 stars by 48 OpenTable diners.
