Sketches of Spain is a breath of fresh air sitting on the edge of a crowded restaurant hot spot - Bishop Arts. The authentic Spanish tapas, paella and the best lamb chop in Dallas makes this a must dine for us!

Sketches of Spain is a small bar from northern Spain somehow transplanted to Dallas. I have seen many in Pamplona and Sanse with the same ambiance. Their paella is excellent (specially the black cuttlefish one). The “burnt rice” at the bottom is the “socarrat”, the caramelized crispy rice that Valencians love. It’s the best part of a paella. This is the only place in North Dallas where you can eat fideuá (without having to cook at home). Loved the croquettes and the piquillo peppers. Try the “secreto ibérico”. It’s a cut you seldom find outside Spain. Their wine selection is solid but not pretentious. Ambiance is neighborhood restaurant. Service was good, attentive but not intrusive. Always have a lovely time there.

I love this spot !!!! The people are incredible our waiter was sooo amazing . I don’t remember the waiters name I think it starts with a “J” and our table was number #14 on 10/13/23. He was so attentive and helpful and nice . Also the staff at the bar was super friendly . Definitely on of my favorite spots in Bishop Arts

I went into this experience not expecting anything however the waiters all went above and beyond. Their service was amazing and they were very attentive. They were all super friendly and making conversation with all of the customers, everyone was laughing and the general vibe was very homey. It was like going to your friends house for a dinner party. The food was another level! We ordered the prawns as an appetizer and they were super fresh and very large. We also ordered the a banda paella which was amazing. Would definitely come again just for the vibes and there is definitely more stuff we would love to try from their menu. Overall a 12/10 experience. We went on a tuesday night, not sure how the vibes would differ on weekend nights when they’re super busy.

Terrible experience. The garlic shrimp was delicious, but all the other dishes were not worth eating. Service was truly awful. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
