This was my second time and I can say first time service was excellent and this time was average. We didn’t see our waitress at times our cheese order took way too long and we cancelled it. Recommend to check in a little bit more and give the full experience to 1st timers. I had brought 4 new people since my experience was excellent First time.
Lovely view of the river walk. Quiet comfortable table for 4. The brunch selections were plentiful. The lox and cream cheese bagel was perfect and beautifully presented. They served the kale on the side as requested for my husband's dish.
Unique concept allowing patrons to try 64 types of wine at a fairly reasonable price. Server was friendly and knowledgeable, but food service was slow which wasn't necessarily her fault. VERY loud where we were sitting.
It was Awesome!!
We requested outdoor seating and were not accomodated, although MANY patio tables remained unbussed and empty during our entire visit. They were hopelessly understaffed for a Saturday night. The wine was amazing as always, but the food was bland and boring, as opposed to my last visit where I thoroughly enjoyed dinner. No hostess, long wait to be seated. Rarely saw server, had to hunt her down for bill and box. Most upset about the outdoor seating situation.
Great concept with a nice selection of wines. Service was good at first, but waned toward the end. The food tasted good, but the portions were extremely small. Three tiny bacon wrapped dates for instance. I understand tapas, but you can barely share three dates.
Always a great time and service was top notch. Their outdoor seating is fantastic.
It was really good! Nice area of town! Friendly staff!!
We really enjoyed the concept of pouring wine from multiple bottles that we would otherwise not have tasted. The 64 wines by the glass is a good concept though your wine bill easily gets high. The food was great, pretty standard selections. Good for a date night without the kids!
We enjoyed the cheese, but really did not learn anything about wine. It is a random tasting w/o really explaining the wines. I was disappointed as I brought my sister for her birthday thinking we would learn from someone a little about the wines. One has to pick out wines from the different stations and you can read about it which I could do that at Binney’s.
You go here for the exceptional available wine. Tens of highly rated wines retailing from $40 to $100 available with modest markup, not a restaurant's typical twice retail markup. As such, you can have a fabulous $45 red (same price at Binny's) for $11 per full pour, $5.50 for half-pour - amazing!! You'll never find these wines in a normal restaurant because they would have to charge $20/glass. Then, you come to find that the food (Tapas and dinners) are also amazing. Great place!!!
Love that the wine tasting is under your control! Food was amazing (brunch)!
Great time. Wish we had one closer to home. Wine options are great.
The chef is always showing his creativity with new options.
Do not go here if you have peanut or gluten allergy. Everything g is fried in peanut oil... proucutto is dusted in flour
Loved this place! It’s a clever idea with all the samples of wine. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!
Great concept. So good, in fact, I came here twice in three days. I love the wine and the service was fantastic. The only downside was the menu item I ordered. The buffalo chicken flatbread has more veggie than chicken and is missing that spice and blue cheese flavor that buffalo chicken is best known for. Otherwise, really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back.
We had a very good experience this past Sunday. The food and wine was good, especially the cheese selection. Only comment would be, we were not fans of the all day brunch. We had the short rib and a salmon salad, which were very good, but they seemed like the only non brunch items. Pancakes and eggs with wine didn't appeal to us.
Fun place for wine tasting. We had small plates and it was yummy. Server was the best - explaining the use of the wine spigots and serving us attentively but not being too pesty. The special dessert of the day was a real treat as well. Would have liked to sit outside on the patio overlooking the River/Naperville River Walk but it was full.
My boyfriend’s coworker recommended the place. We had a great time and will definitely be back.
The patio and normal tables are probably the best spots to enjoy this bar. High top seating is terrible. Patrons weaving between your table and the wine dispensers, loud conversations and people standing right next to your table tasting wine make the high tops a never again. Food and service were outstanding. Wine was a bit pricey but selection catered to novice and expert alike. Love the concept, wish the space was allocated appropriately.
Great wine, great service, and good food. Service was outstanding!
Our food came in reverse. They served our entrees and when I asked about the salad, they said their kitchen was busy and that the salads would come out eventually. They did and they had almost no dressing on them and it was impossible to tell the waitress. Why you ask, well, we never saw our waitress again until she was ready to give us the check. Also, my 9 year old ordered the kid pizza and it hadn't been served by the time my wife and I finished our entrees and then received our salad. We asked about it and the guy from the kitchen said that they completely forgot about it. So, my wife and I were completely done with our dinner and then our daughters pizza came out about 5 minutes later. On top of all that, the wines that they had for testing were pretty bad compared to what we get at other restaurants in the area. Seriously, what a nightmare. It's sad because we've been talking about going here for a while since we literally live down the street. It would have been so convenient to become one of our goto places. Alas.
The Creme brûlée toffee is amazing!!
Amazing place for a gals night out!
Went for a birthday celebration, and they provided a split of champagne for the birthday girl, which was unexpected. The process of finding and tasting the different wines was fun and relatively straightforward, although if you are technology challenged, you may find it a bit intimidating at first.
Food was excellent, although there are limited menu options for vegetarians.
It ended up getting crowded with people all around the wine dispensers, along with conversations.
Excellent service and great wine with reasonably good food.
Had a great time here before and couldn’t wait to share this place with friends BUT not so good this time. We sat in the lounge with horrible acoustics and cackling diners. You had to shout to be heard and it was exhausting. Our server was very pleasant but disappeared most of the night. We had to get up and track him down twice to take our order. Service was truly dreadful and we get our own drinks. What’s that about? Food was still pretty good.
We had a very nice evening trying several wines and enjoying a light meal. Our server was helpful and pleasant. We were asked through Open Table if it was a special occasion, but the wine bar didn't acknowledge our friends' anniversary as we mentioned when making reservations.
I love that he staff nows so much about all the different wines!
It was 4th of July and they were understaffed and the wine tasting stations were out of bottles and there was only one server attending to this and also acting as mgr. we got a table outside since we were hoping to see the ribfest fireworks. We just finished our cheese plate which was fine and another couple with two large dogs were seated right beside us when we ordered our entrees. They allow dogs and that is fine but should be seated in a location that is away from other dinners who are eating. The one large dog’s behind was in my husbands personal space and they smelled since it was so hot and humid. When our server started to pet these dogs and then handle our food we decided to cancel our food and leave. Since they didn’t seem to care to put us in another table. This is the third time I have been here w poor service. Naperville needs a wine bar and it is in a great space but the management needs to set up and do a better job with staff. It started to rain and fireworks were cancelled so perfect end to a horrible night. Very disappointed since we are wine enthusiasts that enjoy trying fine wines and usually spend a considerable amount of money on a bottle when we dine out so they lost their targeted consumer over dogs who aren’t spending money. They need to re think this policy.
Beautiful evening by the river!
Food was just OK, Service was very good. I put on our reservation the we were celebrating our Anniversary but is was not mentioned by hostess nor server while we were there. I dont see a reason to ask at time of making reservation then.
Good wine list and you can try as many as you like with the wine machines. Food was good plus the location on the river is great.
Very small portions for the cost. The risotto duck wasn't seasoned at all and very bland. The pulled pork flatbread was a very small portion. The desserts are petite to say the least. Extremely loud music making conversation difficult, people had to yell to talk to each other making it even noisier.
This was not my first time at 64. Sadly, every time I go I have to wait a long time for table service. Staff was nice but not attentive. We had to wait to place our food order and then waited a long time to pay our bill. It wasn’t too crowded and we saw our waiter walking around the restaurant but he rarely made it to our table to check on us.
This was my fourth and my last visit. Both the service and the food were disappointing. Everyone at my table got their orders except for me. The server never came by to explain what happened and I had to go find her and I got no apology and no explanation just the food would be out soon. 10 minutes later my order finally arrived. The hanger steak was so tough I could not chew it and again I had to go search out the server to let her know and request another order. It took over 20 minutes and never got an explanation nor an apology. By the time my food came everyone at my table was already done with their meal. The server never asked for my 22-year-old daughter’s ID before she ordered wine.
This place has the worse service I've ever experienced and the food and wine are so expensive. It's a nice place for drinking, lounging, and people-watching though.
Not overly impressed with service or food - if you promise to only have one glass of wine - the waitstaff will get it for you but if you want more than that - you have to either give them an ID or credit card (I am not a big fan of that) that they hold until you leave OR buy a $50 card so you can go get your own wine. Menu very limited. I had a chicken burger and it was fine - nothing special and extremely messy to eat.
