Hit or miss -- some items are overpriced for the small quantity you get. Loved the semolina bread, but what gives with the thimble-sized whipped ricotta accompaniment? But order the wagyu tartare, and you get a healthy serving; only complaint about the tartare is the anchovy -- the fishy taste ruined what was otherwise a lovely dish. Agree with other review that pork shank looked fabulous, but tasted bland and mostly of salt. The cherry tomatoes that came with it were so salty we couldn't eat them. Beef cheek was decent but nothing to rave about; also was overly salty. For dessert, the basque cheesecake was delicious, while the lemon-blueberry tart was way too sweet and had too much crust. Additionally, I had included a note on our rezzie that it was our anniversary, and no mention nor acknowledgement was made of it. Not that we feel entitled to an acknowledgment, but don't request reservation comments if you're not going to read them.
Service was decent, but our water carafe was never refilled once during our meal. The outdoor dining atmosphere could be improved. We were seated in a dark corner -- literally no lights near us nor candle on the table -- so we took the liberty of poaching a light bulb from another location and installing into the bulbless string of lights hanging near us. Would have appreciated more heaters so that they could be placed closer to tables. We were cold during dinner. What is that $3/person outdoor dining fee going towards?
Also, what is the deal with parking? Your website says you have a complimentary self-park lot, but when we arrived, the valet told us it was valet parking only.
Hi! Thank you for your detailed review on the experience to gain insightful feedback! All things are taken into consideration when continuing to expand our pandemic outdoor patio. I'd like to note to the public reading that the zucchini blossoms are $10, and that we are still purchasing more heaters for our large outdoor area. Although we have over 30 heaters and have one next to all tables, some were shared between 2 tables, which part of the al fresco contribution goes to warm all guests!
Good place overall. Lots of seating available. Good food. Quiet. Family friendly.
Food was amazing....loved the truffle pizza and the ravioli were incredible. Will definitely go back soon.
The food was fantastic (loved the meatballs and braised beef raviolis). Just as good was the service, as they have one of those restaurant owners who treats everyone like a VIP and who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Oh, and they had a solid cocktail menu and whiskey list. This place is perfect for outdoor pandemic dining but will be just as good when it's over.
Pork shank looked great, but had absolutely no flavor. Meatballs were fabulous and the Paparella was above average. Service was hit and miss. Outdoor dining ambiance is below average. Doesn’t take too much to add more heaters, better tables & seating as well as more plants and aesthetically appealing accessories.
Hello there! Thank you for sharing your feedback about the food and ambiance, we take everything into consideration while expanding our pandemic outdoor dining operation! We are still purchasing more heaters and decorations for our large outdoor area, although we have over 30 heaters and have one next to all tables! We hope you and everyone reading this chooses to give us another opportunity to serve you!
Omg get the beef cheek and the octopus. I know they’re known for their risotto, and I’ll get it next time, but wow wow wow wow. Amazing. And the homemade gelato is so yum!
Our waiter tried to cheat us out of $50. Beware!!
Hi Paulette! Thank you for dining with us and sharing this; we would like to hear what happened if you would contact us with more information in order to look into it. Kindly email jennifer@factoryplacehospitality.c om , thank you!
Had a wonderful night out. Great service and amazing food.
The best. The best service and food.
Terrific outdoor pivot for one of our favorite indoor restaurants. Great cocktails and food!
Been many times, but first time during Covid. Had a great time outside and felt everything was done in a safe manner.
Lovely outdoor dining experience. Perfect for valentines day
Standard experimental Italian warehouse experience. The food was actually pretty good, but it's hard to point to any differentiation from the many others. The inside space is known to be cool, but during covid the outdoor area was unremarkable. I am neutral on this restaurant.
The 18 oz. prime rib was beyond perfect! Extemely tasty and juicy!! The seating in the back patio was nice and quiet for our Valentine's day dinner. Our server was pleasant and nice!
both hostesses were extremely rude and hostile. my boyfriend and I made a reservation for Valentine’s Day but still had to wait 45 minutes until we got seated. I was very confused as to why we needed a reservation if we weren’t going to be seated at all for almost an hour. The two of them did not explain this to me and just told me we had about 5 people in front of me, which I said was fine and went back to waiting. Then these people who refused to wear masks the whole time got seated before us and they came almost half an hour after. I was extremely confused and upset by this. My boyfriend finally went to talk to the hostess and she agreed to seat us next, walked us to our table, and threw our menus on the tables while telling us to enjoy ourselves. It was really windy and this caused my menu to fly away and land on the ground. It was a very odd experience and I’m highly dissatisfied in the service that was provided. Our waiter, however, was the sweetest man and made us feel welcomed.
Hello, thank you for dining with us on Valentine's Day! We would love the opportunity to speak with you personally about this evening and your review. We remember serving both you and your boyfriend at the host desk, and are sorry to hear that there wasn't enough communication during the wait. We certainly hope to provide great experiences especially on holidays and special occasions and hope you will join us again! email us at your earliest convenience at jennifer@factoryplacehospitality.c om
Valentine dinner. Food quality wasn’t good compared to the price. We would have gotten a better experience at Bestia down the street at a lower price.
If you're looking for a nice classy italian spot, this is it. Great service, great food and nicely quiet where you can hear your date talk. Highly recommend.
Great food. Perfect portions. The servers are very hard to hear or understand especially with masks on. The octopus and mussels were fantastic. I also recommend any pasta dish. Would definitely go back.
Always a great restaurant and they’re doing a great job with the outdoor setup.
The service was awesome. The food was good but nothing special.
Hello, thank you for dining with us and your kind review on service! We would be happy to hear more feedback about the food if you contact us at jennifer@factoryplacehospitality.c om
We went for my dads 60th birthday and had an amazing time! Gio is a great waiter.
For sure get the truffle pizza so amazing!! Outdoor seating is available and the ambiance was amazing!
AMAZING FOOD
The donut appetizer is mind blowing. The pastas are mind blowing!
Lovely evening. Excellent good, wine, service. Pizza was outstanding!
We have been to this restaurant once before and I love the atmosphere, but we are in COVID times now and eating outside, so the concrete wall In was facing really didn't bother me at all, just happy to be there! The food was fantastic and all we could do was to keep saying how much our son would love this or our friend would love that! top to bottom the menu was great, and now we need to come back to try the rest of the items we didn't get to this time!
Love Brera! Honestly our favorite restaurant in LA! The cocktails, food & service are all great! The fresh bread is a must as is the lamb chops and the cacio e pepe
Excellent! The best Italian food that I've found in Los Angeles.
Hello everyone,
I'd like to share that this place is amazing and the food is delicious specialties ravioli
The food was good, nothing that would make us crave more, but good enough for an enjoyable dinner. The beef tongue with arugula salad appetizer was overdressed with very strong flavors. The pork shank was delicious and perfectly cooked, and so was the beef cheek; however the beef cheek came on a bed of beets greens and butternut squash, the greens were very bitter and the squash just didn’t go well with the beef sauce. But the meat was perfectly cooked. We had the churros for dessert and didn’t care for it. We went during Covid-19 so outdoor seating only, we were seated in the back and the area was missing heaters, it was cold and heaters were spread out, we saw people asking to move because of being cold. People who were sharing a heater with us would get up and adjust to their liking and staff didn’t say anything. Other restaurants have enough heaters that you don’t have to share so your neighbor won’t be changing the temperature. Also the ambiance could use something extra, maybe some music, candles... something is missing. Service was excellent - our waiter and everyone assisting him were 10/10.
Overall good experience, I’d recommend it but would t go more than once.
Great atmosphere
Overrated!! Even with a reservation it took them 50 mins. To get us to the table. The waitress did a great job considering the poor support due to being understaffed , Food was not worth the $$$ paid for
Food was good, I expected a bit more Italian Pizza but risotto and lamb were amazing.
Second time here in a month. Love trying the new foods and drinks. Thank you for the memorable dinner celebration!
Fantastic outdoor dining experience! The food and wine selection were fantastic.
Completely understand these are strange times but the service was fairly dismal, sat for 25 to 30 minutes before I finally flagged someone to grab our food and drink order. The first two dishes zucchini flowers (good but the oil didn’t taste very fresh) and the ricotta capunsei (highly recommend this was delicious and would’ve been good with some crusty bread) took a long time to come out but there was a huge timing gap and the last three took much longer - tagliatelle bolognese (good but not great), spinach and potato gnocchi (pillowy soft), and the risotto Milanese (came out super al dente and cold with cold bone marrow). The kitchen was apparently pretty backed up but we had to flag people down to ask for the status a couple times and it was a really cold night even wearing multiple jackets (and they do have a few heaters) so it wasn’t the best night for slow service.
Good but not great. The dishes presented well but lack depth of flavor.
We loved the outdoor vibe, and the waiter was excellent. The food was a bit overpriced, but overall we had a wonderful experience.
We celebrated our friends 44th birthday and staff was very friendly and accommodating especially since the weather changed unexpectedly from warm to windy and a bit chilly. The staff immediately turned on heaters and checked in on everyone to see how they were doing. The food was also really good.
Love and appreciate the detail to health precautions given this time. Temps taken when you check in, sanitizer required for guests, tables spaced out with plenty of room, etc. Service was excellent. Food was delicious.
This place is amazing. It's top 3 favorite spots in Downtown LA. The aesthetic is beautiful and the food is out right amazing. The chef came out and suggested a few items. I would reccomend this place to anyone.
