Excellent! The best Italian food that I've found in Los Angeles.
Hello everyone,
I'd like to share that this place is amazing and the food is delicious specialties ravioli
The food was good, nothing that would make us crave more, but good enough for an enjoyable dinner. The beef tongue with arugula salad appetizer was overdressed with very strong flavors. The pork shank was delicious and perfectly cooked, and so was the beef cheek; however the beef cheek came on a bed of beets greens and butternut squash, the greens were very bitter and the squash just didn’t go well with the beef sauce. But the meat was perfectly cooked. We had the churros for dessert and didn’t care for it. We went during Covid-19 so outdoor seating only, we were seated in the back and the area was missing heaters, it was cold and heaters were spread out, we saw people asking to move because of being cold. People who were sharing a heater with us would get up and adjust to their liking and staff didn’t say anything. Other restaurants have enough heaters that you don’t have to share so your neighbor won’t be changing the temperature. Also the ambiance could use something extra, maybe some music, candles... something is missing. Service was excellent - our waiter and everyone assisting him were 10/10.
Overall good experience, I’d recommend it but would t go more than once.
Great atmosphere
Overrated!! Even with a reservation it took them 50 mins. To get us to the table. The waitress did a great job considering the poor support due to being understaffed , Food was not worth the $$$ paid for
Food was good, I expected a bit more Italian Pizza but risotto and lamb were amazing.
Second time here in a month. Love trying the new foods and drinks. Thank you for the memorable dinner celebration!
Fantastic outdoor dining experience! The food and wine selection were fantastic.
Completely understand these are strange times but the service was fairly dismal, sat for 25 to 30 minutes before I finally flagged someone to grab our food and drink order. The first two dishes zucchini flowers (good but the oil didn’t taste very fresh) and the ricotta capunsei (highly recommend this was delicious and would’ve been good with some crusty bread) took a long time to come out but there was a huge timing gap and the last three took much longer - tagliatelle bolognese (good but not great), spinach and potato gnocchi (pillowy soft), and the risotto Milanese (came out super al dente and cold with cold bone marrow). The kitchen was apparently pretty backed up but we had to flag people down to ask for the status a couple times and it was a really cold night even wearing multiple jackets (and they do have a few heaters) so it wasn’t the best night for slow service.
Good but not great. The dishes presented well but lack depth of flavor.
We loved the outdoor vibe, and the waiter was excellent. The food was a bit overpriced, but overall we had a wonderful experience.
We celebrated our friends 44th birthday and staff was very friendly and accommodating especially since the weather changed unexpectedly from warm to windy and a bit chilly. The staff immediately turned on heaters and checked in on everyone to see how they were doing. The food was also really good.
Love and appreciate the detail to health precautions given this time. Temps taken when you check in, sanitizer required for guests, tables spaced out with plenty of room, etc. Service was excellent. Food was delicious.
This place is amazing. It's top 3 favorite spots in Downtown LA. The aesthetic is beautiful and the food is out right amazing. The chef came out and suggested a few items. I would reccomend this place to anyone.
Great! Loved our 32nd anniversary meal! The weather happened to be perfect for outside dining. Couldn't have been any better!!!
Birthday. Free desert was tiramisu delish! Octopus grilled tasty . Pork shank excellent. Ceaser salad tasty.
We have not dined out in a long time due to the pandemic and chose to dine here. There was no welcome when we entered and I even had my little one in a cute costume on Halloween night. We were asked to wait although we had a reservation. We were seated and no one came by for 10 min and we had to grab a server. We asked which fish was less fishy and was recommended the Turdot. OMG that was SO FISHY and our table was stinky the entire time. The server said it was flaky and it was NOT good at all. The pastas were good. The squash blossoms were so greasy and and bleh. I had high expectations for this because I love it at other italian restaurants. There was NO server check in during our meal while he did check other tables. The place was not busy but there was zero service. I feel like I wasted $150 on what was supposed to be a fun night celebrating my husbands birthday. They even knew it was a birthday but nothing was mentioned. I should've trusted the reviews.
During Covid, i have noticed that food and service standards have taken a tumble. Not the case here at Brera. If anything, the food was better than on previous occasions notably the spinach potato gnocchi which were true heaven. The New Zealand grilled lamb chops were also extremely delicious and perfectly cooked, served with an Israeli couscous and charred cauliflower. We started with the generous insalata tricolore which could have done with a squeeze of lemon but otherwise fresh and crisp and the burrata, well, hard to go wrong with burrata. The wine list had some good choices in all price ranges. We drank the well priced La Valentina Montepulciano d’Abruzzo which after airing out for a bit went very well with the lamb chops. Service was friendly and well paced.
Lovely outdoor/al fresco dining. The wait staff seemed a bit unavailable and not very attentive but the management seemed to pick up the slack which was appreciated.
Fantastic service. Amazing food! Can’t believe I just found this place. Will definitely be back!
Why was the food cold??? I’ve noticed this is a frequent comment on various review boards and apps. Everything else was lovely, but the tepid food was strange, unwelcoming, and unfortunate. Are you reading these, Brera??? Stop letting your food sit out for a half hour uncovered before it is served. Also do not bother with the pizza. If you receive cold, flaccid, limp pizza please send it back like I should have. It’s just no good.
Excellent outdoor area to eat at. Service and ambience was terrific
We had the white truffle tagliatelle with a Caesar's salad with anchovies followed by the turbot with shrimp and string beans. the tagliatelle with white truffle was stellar and the Ceasar salad was a nice balance. the turbot with white shrimp was very good. Our server, Olman, was stellar.
This was our visit to Brera since the pandemic started and I was pleased to find the same excellent service and cuisine as all of our previous visits. We really enjoyed it and look forward to future visits.
Food is super good.
Even with a reservation we waited about 20 minutes. If we have a 15 minute grace period to arrive, I think restaurants should have 15 minutes to seat us.
Meatballs were good, papardelle was good, tagliatelle was wayyyy salty. Server was polite and helpful.
Probably will not return. Unfortunately not worth it and although they tried with the ambience, the green fence around the outdoor dining wasn’t very nice to look at.
Great food
Very nice lunch!
Restaurant vibe is nice, service for me was really slow. Risotto was okay, the drinks are really great tho.
Papardella was superb 👌.Burrata was ok. Meatball appetizer was fantastic 👏
The food and atmosphere was great, pleasantly surprised especially during Covid times. Would definitely return.
Took over 1.25 hours to get my food and it was under cooked. Services was good though.
Great service, from start to finish. Treated really well by all staff.
Love their food but the pasta is always amazing! So glad they have al fresco dining!
Best italian I’ve ever had!
Reservations were for 8:30pm, didn’t get seated until 9:00pm.
Poor presentations with food, it was also cold.
Service was extremely slow.
Best place to dine in LA great cocktails, food, wine list, great service. The owners & staff are awesome. Glad they are open come support Officine Brera.
Outdoor dining for now. But still great :)
Great place for drinks.
Great dinner with my girlfriend. Lamp chops and Spanish wine so perfect!
