Quiet atmosphere. But the food disappointing. Could not drink the cappuccino.
Great food and service. We were staying at Hotel Angeleno and this was within walking distance right across the street. Great ending to a long day of travel and sightseeing at Getty Center.
This is the best place for a business meal on the west side of L.A. Valet parking. Nice people.
Great service from a friendly staff Enrique is a very special and gracious server!
Small hotel dining room, lots of light, pleasing service and good, not great food. Very centrally located off the 405 fwy. Valet parking.
Solid, consistent food, although servings are somewhat small, while the prices are somewhat high. Service is capable, professional and pleasant, as always. It's never too crowded, which makes it easy to summon a serve. All-in-all, I recommend it!
Wonderful service and great food. A perfect lunch or dinner spot for client meetings between the city and the valley.
During the thanksgiving holiday we wanted a place where it was quiet so we could get together and chat. This was a perfect place. It is a lovely room with fresh light and good service. The food is usually quite good!
Sunday brunch is good! $55/person including drinks
Service was good and it’s a nice setting but the food was awful. Seriously bad.
Great place for business lunch - easy in and out location and parking prices - great service and nice menu - and tasty food.
The food was expertly prepared and delicious. Service, however, was unexpectedly slow. They seemed to have been understaffed the evening we dined there. My husband's beverage had been delivered 15 minutes earlier, & I had to flag down a passing waiter to inform him that I was still waiting for my cocktail. Our water came, but we were not asked for our meal order. Service was subpar, and very unlike what we had experienced on previous visits.
Lovely ambiance. Nice place to meet with friends. Service is good and food is average.
Service was terribly slow
Good food, pleasant atmosphere and good, but not great service. The food while not particularly innovative, is consistent and enjoyable. The restaurant's a good "in-between" place, between the Valley and the City; try it (but paying for their "validated" parking's not fun (or cheap)!
Nice and quiet place.
Good food and reasonable prices.
Celebrating a birthday
We loved the quiet ambience.
Service was good and they started us off with a nice selection of breads.
Food was just ok.
Parking fee of $5 included with validation
This is a great location to meet for lunch when people are coming from the Valley and the City.
Always a consistent player; solid food, good service in a convivial atmosphere w/ attentive servers.
Never overly crowded; great for a quiet lunch/dinner.
Todo excelente, menos su reserva, ya que el restaurante NO SABE QUE ESTÁ APLICACIÓN EXISTE. Open Table NO debe ofrecer servicios sin la garantía de estar seguros que la reserva se recibirá por el restaurante
The restaurant was lovely with a subdued elegance. The staff was wonderful and attentive, the indoor option gave a nice view of the outdoor seating area, so it was if you were outdoors. Good value for your money as well.
Birthday dinner at our hotel after a long drive which proved to be a nice surprise. Great service. Panzanella salad nicely split for us, husband enjoyed his salmon entree, my boullibaise (spelling?) was excellent! The cappuccino finish was the best I have had on this trip. Restaurant is located at Luxe on Sunset, amazing Oasis tucked off 405 near Getty Center
It was a simple Sunday dinner with our mom. To begin, we ordered the fried calamari and an order of the hummus. The calamari arrived almost instantaneously and, after trying it, we knew why. It was not made to order, but rather, had been sitting around, not even under a heat lamp, and arrived stone cold. They brought another one which was hotter, but still very chewy. We were suspicious that they simply warmed up the previous order.
My sister ordered the ravioli for her entree and I, the kale ceasar salad. Each plate was EXTREMELY salty. We sent both back to the kitchen and declined to order anything else. Our mom's steak was satifactory. They were nice enough to take our plates off the bill. As a side note, our waiter was not the "brightest bulb" in the gallery, either.
We won't be back.
Food and service were outstanding, also a very good value in a beautiful space.
Good food, if not large portions; however, expensive for what you get. Valet parking should be included; unfortunately, it's only discounted.
It took 35 minutes for the staff to ask if we wanted a drink. It then took another 35 minutes for the waiter to take our order. The food actually came out fast. My chicken was dry and tough, the kale had a rather funny taste to it...some kind of sauce that did not flatter the dish. The restaurant is in a hotel. There was an event going on and we knew we wanted to be out before the event started breaking up. Unfortunately, that was not possible, but we were among the first to give our parking ticket to the person at the desk. We waited 50 minutes for our car. The couple we had dinner with received their car 25 minutes before us. I have had breakfast or lunch at that restaurant for many years. I have NEVER received such all around poor service. I will never return for a meal or an event at that hotel/restaurant.
Excellent food and service
I met my cousin from Florida for drinks and dinner and the service and food was very good and beautiful ambiance. Convenient and they validate parking. Nice evening after the Getty.
Ordered an entree salad - Nicoise. It ended up being an appetizer portion. Skimpy on everything. Like 3 oz's of cold fish? 1 tiny potato cut up. 5 tiny olives. This a trend in LA restaurants - to serve smaller portions at full price. Better to charge more so that the customer feels properly fed.
good food..lovely place...not pricey.
Sunday after 1030 there is brunch only at $55 a plate. this should be noted in website or open table.
We love the Luxe but the dining room is under a remodel and things did not run as smoothly as usual. The usually wonderful service was a little off. The food was as good as it always is. I am sure when the remodel is done all will be back to normal.
I love " On Sunset" for many reasons. First, its location is ideal for Westsiders to meet Valley people. Second, the ambience is like an oasis amidst traffic. Third, as my guest said, this is the highest quality of service I have had for lunch - ever! Fourth, the menu and my choice -- a salad with salmon, was really fabulous.
Cute intimate dining area inside hotel, just off the lobby. We had expected better food and service from reading reviews on the restaurant. We did notice a hamburger pass by that look delicious. The main thing was the service but the food could have been more creative.
Food was amazing, service amazing as well. The staff was professional and accommodating. There was also live music that made it more entertaining. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of the ballroom where it took place wasn't right up there with the quality of food, service, and presentation. If it was outdoor it would have been a lot nicer. Quick note: something that left me unhappy was that I made a note and I call to confirm that, since it was my husband's birthday, I would have loved to have a little slice of dessert with a candle/Happy Birthday design. They said it was totally doable, but we never received it.
Perfect place for lunch! I had the chopped salad with salmon and enjoyed it very much.
I was not informed that the restaurant was closed for renovation so I was not happy when I arrived to find lunch was at the bar or outside. It wasn't what I'd expected and would have gone elsewhere till construction was complete.
Good local place, quieter than many places, hip enough
The wait staff is outstanding, and the food is better than one might expect at a hotel restaurant.
The restaurant is in a temporary location in a tiny (400sf?) location off the lobby and we went on Christmas night so those two factors probably explain a lot. We have had good meals at Luxe before, although we go very infrequently. The server was attentive and a lovely human being but seemed terrified by our very polite questioning and unsure of what gluten free is and is not. But he really really tried. Bonus points for that and he went back to the kitchen at least four times to make sure he was right.
Quality of food - eh. Roast beef, tasty and good quality but no rare available. Veggies came from a bag, i am sure. I felt that they went from Smart and Final to grill to steam table in 3 quick steps. The roast beef probably did a turn on the steam table as well. Desserts looked lackluster - we opted for ice cream. Just not a big city meal.
On the managerial side, i think the alternate location should have been noted on the website as well as the 3- course Christmas menu that was the only menu possibility. At $68 it was over priced (trust me on this). Wine at 22.
