I had the filet minion which was excellent. My husband had seafood pasta pomodoro, which was good but not fabulous. They did not offer bread while waiting for our dinners. The deserts were very large and very good. We had white sangria which was excellent, but the service was slow.
I had a solo dinner one night at this restaurant simply because I was staying at the hotel. I had already read other reviews, that weren't so favorable. The restaurant has a nice ambience as it's on the beach. Gets a tiny bit chilly so may need a jacket. The service was good, although there were numerous people that helped my table so I wasn't sure who my waiter really was. My seafood pasta was just okay, I didn't finish it. The guava cheesecake a bit better. I didn't try it for breakfast or lunch but for dinner I would say to go elsewhere.
Not your typical hotel restaurant. Great location, essentially on the beach. Had a lunch and a dinner after sunset. Both were beautiful.
Very good service and excellent food.
Only issue are the “friendly” black birds. Someone must man the table at all times; which a server did for us in our first visit. Then we knew better.
Scrumptious food and very relaxing atmosphere.
The best seafood in Carolina.
Make your reservation for sunset, just beautiful.
Our server Stephanie was outstanding.
Very patient with our large party.
Really a $$$$ menu for dinner, but if you time it right, you can arrive @ 5:30 for the tail end of the lunch menu and catch a break $ wise.
Order appetizer from lunch, entree from the dinner menu. No matter what a great dining experience.
Watching the ocean while you eat is fabulous. Please I had the scallops and they were delicious!
I made a reservation through OT and they did not honor it. Regardless, I was seated when host saw the confirmation email. However after 5 minutes unable to order because kitchen had closed. Management stated they didn’t use OT and that their kitchen had closed, right when I was seated, also that they didn’t use open table at all and dismissed me.
The environment was tranquil (at least during the week) and just right: a front view to the beach and a calming sound of waves. The service was alright, though in some occasions the waiter took a little too long to keep in touch with my table considering there were few customers that night. My food was overall great, especially the marinated jumbo shrimp and the risotto. A must try is the lemon cake and the lemonade frappe. It is however, pricey (around $130 + parking at the hotel for a two person date).
Absolutely beautiful setting - right on the beach looking at the ocean and palm trees! Food was very good and the service was excellent - we had scallops the first time and seafood pasta and chicken the second time, all were delicious!
When you finish dining, you can try your luck at the casino just a few steps away in the hotel!
Cannot say anything bad, perfect view, sunset is amazing, food was delicious. brought our 1 year old, being outside makes it very family friendly
My husband ate a sea food dish and told me it was exquisite. Unfortunately, the filet mignon I ate was not. It barely had spices and was mounted on smashed red potatoes. Red potatoes do not taste well when smashed. Regular potato would have done a better in this dish. Other than that, the rest was perfect!
Really friendly and accommodating. Food arrived quickly and they were always checking to see if you need anything.
A wonderful dinner with outstanding food, excellent service and an amazing view of the ocean!
Beautiful views right on the beach during sunset. The most memorable part of the experience was the excellent waitstaff and hostess. We immediately felt welcomed and well attended to.
The ambience was magnificent. Waterfront dining at its best. The hostess was kind and we were immediately seated. However, that is as far as it went. Our server failed to acknowledge us. After a little more than 30 minutes I noticed a gentleman engage in conversation and then point to us. A young lady eventually showed up. She took orders for water, then immediately proceeded to the caucasion couple that was recently seated next to us and provided EXCELLENT service. We left.
Later that evening the young lady that sat us down said that "she noticed us getting up and leaving without being served", and she did try to rectify the situation. We were actually staying at another property, but came to the Marriott to eat due to a recommendation on the quality of service and the food. We were very disappointed.
Nice ocean front dining. My partner had the filet mignon it was just okay. A guy at the table across from us sent his filet back. I just had a salad. The drinks were very good. They have items like Paella I would stick to that
We had a wonderful table with great service. The food was a little lacking in flavor but still worth the visit. You can’t believe the view so book your reservation at sunset
Beautiful setting right on the beach
Waiter was friendly and great service
The Paella was the best I’ve had and huge . Had the rest the next day for lunch
Def worth going!
This was our third dinner party at A Mare in three weeks and we love it. However, our guests have remarked on the dearth of non seafood dinner entrees.
Waiter was lovely, atmosphere and view gorgeous. Food wasn't great and was luke warm. On the costly side for what we got.
All food came out warm not hot! Food was fair. Exceptionally noisy. Great waitress
