I have been wanting to try Siren and finally planned far enough in advance to get a reservation. The food is fabulous - wonderful fish preparations and more. I wanted everything and will have to come back and try more. The service was classy and professional, with attention to detail. Tables were far enough apart and music sufficiently soft that we could talk normally - a rarity these days. Interesting and tasty cocktails and a wide-ranging wine list. We had a wonderful meal. Only a few minor flaws: I was brought the wrong cocktail and had to wait a bit for the right one. The red wine was brought out too cold; fortunately we were still sipping our drinks. And inexplicably, our wine glasses were removed with our main-course dishes. Again, fortunately, we had already decided to take the rest home, but what if we hadn't? Travel note: If you do not know the neighborhood, it is very hard to drive up to the front of the Darcy - we slogged around for 20 minutes after arriving at Scott Circle before figuring our how to do it. Waze sends you to O street. Consider Metro or a rideshare.
Attentive, superb food! Great for date night, cozy and romantic! We will definitely be back!
The food was very good and so was the service. However, I thought the wine per glass was too expensive.
Greeted by an unfriendly hostess...not mean, just not acting like she was glad to see us. Didn’t check our winter coats, we stuffed them in our booth. The ambiance was mediocre...very loud. The table has seen better days...gashed and worn. Service...again mediocre....left crumbs and food debris on the table between courses...waiter took a VERY long time to check up on us and to clear our bill...felt like they were understaffed. The food was good, not amazingly presented. Bottom line...This was NOT a Michelin level experience I would expect...very disappointed.
The whole experience was fantastic. The food, ambience and especially the staff made for a very memorable night.
Service outstanding. Helpful and professional. Timely. Food deliciously prepared. Out of town guests raves about the oysters halibut and sea bream. Comfortable setting to catch up with family and friends. Highly recommend.
Una experiencia impresionante para el paladar
For a one star Michelin restaurant we were extremely disappointed. All of our food - appetizers, entrees and desserts were mediocre or just bad. My swordfish entree was so bad they took it off our bill. We also had an issue with the sommelier - we discussed wine choices but didn’t finalize anything, and then our appetizers came and we didn’t have any wine. For our entrees, the waiter ended up making suggestions as the sommelier never returned. All in all not impressed.
Our servers were so welcoming, helpful in guiding us through the menu, and generous. They brought us some special treats for our anniversary and made the evening so lovely! We can’t wait to come back.
Great food, great service in beautiful atmosphere
Arrived early and went to the bar. Great service and the best food of the evening. Mix d drinks were very good bartender knowledgable. Tried haters and Korean lamb barbecue. This is when things went down hill. Told the hostess we were read for our table as our guests had arrived. I told them we were at the bar. She grabbed some menus and then she left s I went to the bar to get everyone and waited for hostess who never showed up. Tracked here down again and were shown to a table. We were given the bar menu. Finally got dinner menu. I had the uni. I would not recommend. The uni was flavorless in a flavorless mix. My wife had the sun choke salad. It was excellent. The best of the evening. The sommelier recommended a wine that I did not like but my wife and kids thought was ok. Main course was the bronzino. We were warned about the swordfish mousse. We did not realize it was 80% sword fish mousse and 20% bronzino. Very bland and boring served with a salad. Kids had the salmon which was okay and the seafood stew was good. Desserts were very lackluster. We tried the apple cake with eggplant. Not sure why the eggplant. Overall I can not believe this is the only Michelin starred restaurant in the group. We would not recommend but I would recommend all his other places.
One of those restaurants that make the meal perfect with no errors. Your every request is immediately taken care of.
The seafood platter was delicious and presented beautifully. The halibut tasted amazing.
Amazing experience with an exceptional staff!
Really excellent fish preparations. Almost everyone overcooks fish. Not Siren. The entire table's order was perfect.
A truly extraordinary restaurant deserving of its Michelin star. Delicious creative cuisine professionally served in a charming ambience. Bravo to Robert Wiedmaier, Brian McBride and their entire talented team!
Siren made our first anniversary incredibly special. They greeted us with champagne and had multiple special members wish us a happy anniversary. The large platter took a while to make, but the wait was worth it. The seafood was fresh and the added seasoning/ vinegar added rather than overpowering the seafood. My favorite portion of the dish were the oysters and the mushroom. We also ordered the branzino, which was wonderfully prepared. It was mellowed out with the cream sauce they provide but it didn’t feel heavy nor overdone. Definitely the best branzino we’ve ever had.
We also got to talk with Tatiana, who was thorough and kind in checking in with us every so often.
Thank you for a wonderful anniversary dinner, Siren!
Outstanding. as expected of a Michelin restaurant.
Great atmosphere and amazing food. The hospitality was fantastic, and a very good choice for a cozy date. The brazino was amazingly cooked and a fantastic option for two people. Melt-in-your-mouth filet of sea bass. The sea urchin also had a great complexity of flavors that paired very nicely with each other.
Second visit was as great as our first. Well deserved Michelin One Star. Creative. And reasonable price for the quality . You actually can talk in a normal voice on a Saturday night.
The food and service were wonderful. We were celebrating a birthday. They surprised us by offering our desert!
Worthy of a Michelin star!
Best lamb dish I have ever had. Lamb aside still one of the best meals in memory. Staff was friendly, attentive, with a well rounded knowledge of the menu. The food was outstanding and I plan on returning for every and any occasion.
Very comfortable & enjoyable. Attentive & personal service. The selections were unique & may not appeal to someone expecting a traditional menu. Still, plenty from which to choose. Very good cocktail options.
I was curious to see how a restaurant attached to a hotel could earn a Michelin Star. They pulled it off beautifully. The space is elegant, the food excellent, and the service was very attentive without being overbearing. Worth a trip.
Creative and amazing food in a beautiful space. Went for anniversary dinner to try out the new place--we've enjoyed other Wiedmaier restaurants. I generally shy away from hotel restaurants, but other than the long long long walk to the ladies room, this place was on point. We were greeted with anniversary cava and had a lovely first course of tuna with all this stuff that tasted really good and the special appetizer--which was a leek soup with the most amazing texture clam (how do clams get to be like butter??). The salted branzino for two was not baked in salt but bread. Good showing off the process by the staff. But a great dinner is not about the food, it's about the experience and from the server to the sommelier to Chef himself who made a table side visit, we were welcomed. It was fun to comb through the plates--tasting each part and then matching them together. Loved the live jazz and the joie de vivre of the joint. A minor minor issue was the lack of bourbon/rye drinks among the speciality drinks--but the Manhattan was on point. Last, some might think the restaurant a little dark, but I look better in soft light. Highly recommend.
Just awesome. My second visit this week and 25th visit this year! All courses were exceptional. Great service and ambience. My favorite restaurant for a reason...food is creative and incredibly tasty and a chill atmosphere. Best seafood restaurant in town hands down! Lots of people write review but few have eaten out over 450 times at the top restaurants in one year like I have. I follow my taste buds and they always bring me back to Siren. Marijuanas legal in DC so catch a buzz and stuff your happy, smiling face with great food In DC.
Food and presentation.were outstanding.
Had the branzino and Fisherman’s stew. Both great.
Oyster appetizer was fresh and really tasty.
All service was on point.
Manager - Todd Salvador is a rock star, he checked on us regularly and made sure we enjoyed our evening.
Will be back
A great option for a Michelin Star dinner in D.C. I had a last minute work trip to and was able to get a last-minute reservation. Service was outstanding and the food was superior quality.
Did not live up to my expectations of a Michelin Star restaurant. Ok with presentation, but bland in atmosphere and food quality.
I enjoyed the ambiance but wish there had been more gluten free options and don’t understand why there weren’t in this day and age.
Very uneven. The inventive dishes were outstanding, but the service overall was highly uneven. While we had an attentive waiter, our interaction with the rest of the staff was - while not unpleasant - generally amateurish, from the time we pulled up at the hotel for valet parking, to our retrieving my wife's coat at the end of the evening. Though I had made the reservation a couple weeks in advance, noting that it was a special occasion (birthday) dinner, when we arrived, the hostess seemed to not be able to find our reservation, and sent us to a table in a back room of the restaurant. My wife was seated looking into the fluorescent light from the service door to the kitchen, which opened multiple times a minute. I finally switched seats with her so that she had the more pleasant view of the room's back wall. There are three tables that look directly into the service entrance. If you visit, avoid those tables off the main dining room like the plague! All in all, it was a shame that Siren's outstanding food was overshadowed by these negatives.
Amazing food! Great service! Awesome wine list and the entire meal was superb.
An amazing experience!
Very fancy, just not quite sure the food lives up to the price. Exceptional service and nice ambiance however.
