Sip & Savor
Yes, we recommend Sip & Savor all the time! Lovely spot to enjoy a delicious meal and talk.
A perfect date night destination - A Victorian house from 1893 that has been converted into a restaurant. Very quiet and comfortable. The staff is outstanding, run by John & Teresa Weeks. John greeted my wife & I at the door and showed us to our table. Hanna, our server, helped us navigate the menu and find some great wine choices to compliment our dinner. The food is fantastic as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
$147.00, not a good value. Restaurant was freezing cold, the scallops were quarter sized and I got 6 of them. The fettuccine was not gluten free, so substituted potatoes at extra chatge, wow. The potatoes were 1 inch squares and got 6 of them. My girlfriend has filet minion, undercooked and wasn't seasoned. 2 teas, 1 glass of wine, shared a salad wedge. The desert was 1/2" thick by 3" long creme brulee.
We'd seen Sip & Savor's quaint locations numerous times but had not gotten a chance to try. We booked and enjoyed our Valentine's Day evening there, and even with a fixed prix menu, it did not disappoint. The wine list is diverse and impressive, and all of the plates were tasty and beautifully presented. We look forward to going back soon to enjoy their regular evening menu!
Put simply, this is my favorite restaurant in DFW. It truly feels like you are in Napa. They have fabulous wine and fabulous food. My better half and I have been going there for a while and have gotten to know the owners and wait staff. Hannah is absolutely the best. WE LOVE HER! Hands-down the best service I have ever had. Of course, she knows us, so that helps. As an example, when we arrived the soup that we typically order was already waiting for us. It's the tomato soup, it's incredible, takes a bit, but TOTALLY worth the wait. This night we didn't have to.... Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.

Totally enjoyed all aspects of the evening. It was or first visit with Sip & Savor. I reserved a surprise
birthday dinner for both my wife and my daughter. The service(Hanna) was excellent, accomodating and friendly. She suggested the Wedge Salad and Tomatoe Soup as appertizers. Bothe were spot on and quite delicious. The main course was outstanding (Braised Short rib, perfection) and atmosphere was warm and cozy. Set in a Victorian sytle home restaruant conversion provided the perfect balance between excellence, simplicity but yet so inviting. I would definately dine there again. It was a woderful dining experience.
Thanks Sip & Savor for making the evening special for our family.
Food was very good and reasonable, Will return return again
Everything was perfect except the temperature. It was freezing outside and they were unable to get the room warm.
Sip & Savor was outstanding, as always. Our group of eight had a wonderful time, engaging in conversation and enjoying the new tasty offerings. John, the owner / chef, stopped by frequently to check on us and to share information about the food. An "A+" experience!
Fine dining in a casual, intimate environment. Excellent and creative food, impeccable service, friendly and attentive owners.
1st time. Delicious food, nice wine list, good service and quiet enough for conversation. Will go again.
Sip & Savor is one of our favorite restaurants. We highly recommend it.
Scallops and steak were delicious. Wine pours are weak for the $. Expect to spend $$
Concept of old house is very nice. However the house is somewhat derelict; peeling wallpaper, very limited decoration( there are old nails sticking out above fireplace instead of a nice mirror or art). Lighting is too bright and done in a bad 70’s way; ugly ceiling fans provide the main light rather than tasteful sconces.) Flowers on table is a nice touch. Curtains nice. Again from an ambiance standpoint you need better, warmer and softer lighting. Consider candles; even faux candles(as long as you can’t see they are faux) on the tables.
Service was somewhat amateurish; server forgot our sparkling water and our bread; although she did try.
Food was pretty good but in some cases somewhat sparse; gnocchi was tiny....even by European context it was very sparse...should have been at least 50% larger. Same goes for Brussels sprouts. Spare rib was good and of a decent size. Shrimp and grits ok too; could have done with more than 4 medium shrimp( add at least one more).
Should bring out some kind of complementary appetizer or amuse bouche considering the prices.
Lastly need a more inviting entry way; consider blocking kitchen area with a warm colored curtain and add small desk and light.
All in all the concept and delivery had merit but needs some tweaking.
Wonderful atmosphere - ambiance was fantastic. It's a great place to take some old friends for their anniversary. Wine selection was wonderful. Food excellent.
Excellent food, great wine selection at fair prices. Great ambience.
It is always a joy to eat here,. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. The service great and very congenial hosts (John and Theresa)
Fabulous food and wine! Tremendous service. Definitely worth the stop!
Service a little slow
One of our favorites! We go every week! John and Theresa have are great!
My wife and I went to Sip & Savor for our 18th anniversary. We live a few blocks away but didn't realize that it was a full service restaurant as well as a wine bar. It's located in an old, cozy house and is very comfortable. The wine list is excellent - as expected - and the menu has a nice assortment of dishes, most of which sounded very good. The service is ultra friendly and the night we were there, the owners were sitting at the table next to us and struck up a conversation. it's just that kind of place. The food was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Loved this place, great steak and fantastic wine. Will definitely return!
First time visiting S&S. Enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Service was a bit slow and sporadic. It was a fixed menu for New Year’s Eve. Will return to experience the regular menu.
The food was just mediocre and not at all worth the price.
So sad. Our NYE experience here did not live up to expectations set during a visit here for our anniversary.
Always good. Always friendly. Always worth a trip back!
Everything was perfect! Our waitress helped us select a delicious bottle of wine. The charcuterie board is a must! The filet mignon and potatoes were great! The scallops and fettuccine were also very good. I am looking forward to my next visit.
Great wine list, food was exceptional. Owner and staff made our anniversary dinner memorable.
It’s like having a private chef come to your home.
Sip and Savor is one of our Plano favorites! The appetizers and main courses are both very creative.
This was our 2nd time at Sip and Savor and we were not disappointed. The quality of cheese and charcuterie board was superb, wine choices adequate and food AMAZING. We brought different friends this time and they cannot wait to go. We love the menu and the quiet ambiance. It is peaceful and easy to hear friends over dinner. We get tired of the crowded, loud environments.
We will see you again soon!
We passed by this place almost every day for the past 2 years thinking we will try it some day. Finally today we celebrated our anniversary at Sip & Savor.
Beautiful interiors, very quaint, great wine collection and lots of vegetarian options! We had a great experience here!
The food was good, not memorable, but the ambiance of being alone with another couple in small room in the old house felt awkward at best. The floor bounced every time someone walked across the room. The chairs are hard and uncomfortable. I just wanted dinner to be over so I could leave. No lingering over dessert or after dinner drinks.
Beautiful place, with great food, and amazing service! You have to check it out!
We were celebrating our 54th Wedding Anniversary. We chose Sip & Savor for this special occasion. We were greeted at the entrance by the husband/wife owners. We were seated by the fireplace in the front room. We ordered wine from the varied wine list. Excellent. We ordered the special appetizer of shrimp stuffed avocado. Delicious. We each had the same entree, Rhode Island Scallops atop fettuccine. Scrumptious. We ended the meal with the Chocolate Espresso Creme Brulee. An end to a perfect meal.
We had the opportunity to chat with the owners throughout our dinner which really added to the overall enjoyment of the occasion. Thank you John and Teresa for everything.
A question I always ask myself at the end of dining is was this the experience I hoped for or was it somewhat mediocre? Typically, when I pick a restaurant it’s likely I’ve picked the spot from many options based on what I’m feeling, ambiance and a menu to best flatter my tastes. For this occasion, I wanted to move away from the high-brow, over crowed scene. This place had good reviews and I let the owner know in advance of the experience I was looking for. I will say that he did greet us at the door and pointed us to the small downstairs wine room. Only 3 tables so quaint. The other guests in the room were friendly, first timers same as us. I was appreciative of Milly, our server, as she offered several wine samples to allow us to make a choice. We did finally settle on a selection, ordered an appetizer cheese and charcuterie, then waited 35 minutes. During the wait the noise level picked up from live music upstairs, not too overwhelming but did break the quiet ambiance. Entrees came out, the appetizer had been forgotten, but the meal was welcome as we had been drinking wine with nothing, no bread, etc. for half an hour. The food was good though the scallops were a bit under-cooked for my taste. Squash was excellent. I didn’t realize until later the scallop dish had been deducted from the check. This is a very small establishment and a visit by the owner at the table during dinner to show his interest would have gone a long way to making this a potential repeat for another night.
Sip & Savor is a totally wonderful experience!
Delicious food served in beautifully creative ways in an 1890's historical gingerbread house.
Professional and attentive wait staff, knowledgeable about all the offerings, including an interestingly extensive wine list.
The owner and head chef, John Weeks, often stops by to chat or offer welcome information.
All in all, very highly recommended!
Good food, but alcohol drink menu limited to wine only (no beer, mixed drinks/cocktails). Wine was reasonably priced, food was priced a little high, but quality was excellent.
We celebrated a special birthday at Sip and Savor and couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice of restaurant. The food was so good, and favorites of our group were the fig & goat cheese flatbread, gnocchi, tomato soup, spinach salad, filet mignon, pork tenderloin, and Brussels sprouts. Our waitress was engaging and gave us just the right amount of attentiveness. The wine list was excellent too, a little pricey, but expected for the quality. The host was very accommodating, and we enjoyed dining in the wine room. Everyone really enjoyed the restaurant.
